Ummy Hello and nice to meet you... Filling out the form... slightly elaborated... Hello! Name- Ummy is fine (if you wish to ponder pronunciation, it's pronounced OO-me... rhyming with Roomy, and not Yummy) Religion- Right now I'm content to be classified as Eclectic Neo-Pagan, though Witch and Wiccan are acceptable to me, (I realize that there is a difference to some in regards to Pagan/Witch/Wiccan, but I do not subscribe to the idea that only initiated Gardnerian coven practitioners can rightly call themselves Wiccan). Currently no tradition... been looking into Universal Eclectic Wicca though, and have a High Priestess Mentor of the Sacred Earth Tradition. Practice Time- Approximately six sometimes long, sometimes difficult, but very rewarding years now. Anything else- I don't have a whole lot to say. I'm a bit more laid back than some Traditional Wiccans would have me be... perhaps a bit too accepting. In my opinion, it's not Traditions, covens, tools, books read, etc that make a Wiccan, it's the heart. Misinformation can be corrected on the journey, tools can be gathered, Covens can be formed (if that's what the practitioner wants). What's important to me is an honest and true intent and desire to learn more. Similarly, I believe right now I am called to fill the role of "gentle guidance" in people's lives, if you will. Again, this makes me too soft in the eyes of some, but I am not the type to chew you up and spit you out for any mistakes or errors that may be made. I believe this does no good, and only serves to alienate a large number of new practitioners. And todays new practitioners are tomorrow's leaders. So, I'm not trying to parade around like a know it all, but I do like to think that I am open to helping out and accepting to questions and those who are just learning. I also adamantly despise the term Fluffy Bunny, and the way it's being thrown about by those with "experience and knowledge" to describe anyone without as much experience or knowledge, or just plain different beliefs. Wow, you really wrote a lot, thanks. I like getting to know people here. welcome to The Coven, I hope to hear from you in the topics. ^^ I agree with the idea that you don't need to be a part of a coven to be wiccan, I think most see it that way here. I've only just learned the term "Fluffy Bunny" so I'm guessing it's not used a lot in this guild. You should fit right in blaugh . Welcome!

Thank you for the warm welcomings, everyone.
I'd also like to add that I've successfully survived my teen and high school years with few scars (which are healing as we speak). So I know a lot of the trials and tribulations of those kinds of years are, if anyone wants a place to rant or inquire, feel free.
And to Ivy: In regards to UEW, are you aware that the "All One Wicca" by Kaatryn MacMorgan is available for free read online? (Not any kind of bootleg...she and the publishers placed it online for free) I've been reading it when I can, and it's pretty good, and from what I've observed, required reading for many of the UEW covens, circles, and clans.

Name- Sybex, Rin, or Naorom, but you can call me bex if you want. I haven't figured out my Wiccan name yet, if I choose one. Thinking something to do with Horus or Bastet... Religion- Agnostic and PFDist (Pink Fuzzy Dice. It's a religion, damn it! I'm going to write a bible for it and everything! I'm setting up an alter, too!) Practice Time- Well, I just got my first book on Wicca (Wicca: A guide for the solitary practitioner) yesterday... so not long! xd But I have a couple friends who are into it, so I figure it's worth studying (and so far, it's very interesting.) Anything else- I'd really like to do one of the rituals... but mom says I'm not allowed to have fire (So maybe my oldest brother and I ARE pyromaniacs, but we haven't burned nothin' down... yet.). Anyone else have that problem?
Oh, and about stones used in rituals... is it okay if they're attached to a necklace?
And finally... I'm 13 and I love drawing anime/manga-style. Seriously. Obsessed with it. Taking classes in the basement of a comics shop to learn it. I think that's partly where my interest in Wicca and other religions comes from (anime and manga and comics are treasure troves of weird religious customs and different beliefs from different cultures, and there are some similarities in those even to Wicca, though I'm not sure Wicca is very large in Japan, where most anime and manga is made). At the moment, the only thing I'm worried about is how I'm going to do a Wicca ritual... there's a great place in my room (card table facing a window that opens out to woods and a small, very small creek), but the candles and incense and circle... *sighs* sweatdrop
Actually, in addition... I sorta made a banner for the guild, but I don't know where to post it. sweatdrop Sees?

Welcome to the guild^^ As for the ritual problem. ITs not really a problem, use things to represent them, you dont have to have fire and incents. When I started I used things to represent the elements I couldnt use. For fire you can use a candle of a color that represents fire to you. For air use an unlit incent. YOu dont need fire for anything really.^_^ EDIT: I like the siggie^^ Good job on it^^

Merry Meetings, my name is Louila. (It's actually part of my middle and last name). My religion is Wicca of course and I'm interested in the witchcraft side of it too. I've been studing since January 16, 2004 and I initiated myself January 17, 2005. (a year and one day later, as I think is traditional...) I come from a catholic background but gave that up because I didn't feel much of a connection with it. I'm 18 years old, live in Edmonton, AB, and am currently studying science at Grant MacEwan College. So if anyone lives in the area give me a message. 3nodding Oh, and thanks for accepting me! Blessed be.
