He could indeed feel the tension in the air due to the group's lack of leadership, but it was mostly because he had provoked the situation with the black and blue wolf. Of course, such posturing was inevitable among wolves. They needed direction because they were at their best when acting as a team. Rebel knew this, despite having a distaste for being told what to do. He felt that he worked better as an individual, but he could not deny the benefits of joining a pack. The collective unit would always be stronger and much more successful than the individual.

He flew through the forest on quick feet. His gangly legs leapt over fallen logs, darted through leafy passes, and weaved around trees as they carried him swiftly toward the sounds of the Sure-Claw member. Traveling alongside A'cuil, it felt almost as if the two were in training once again, and Rebel felt a pang of nostalgia. No, this was not an exercise in silent pursuit of a target. This was not a hunting or tracking lesson. But, maybe it was still a test. Maybe the whole problem of coming together with the other wolves to face the Darkness was a test for what was to come. Time would only tell, and Rebel did not have the luxury of sitting around to philosophize.

Eventually, as he and A'cuil came upon the howling wolf, Rebel slowed to a halt in the grass. He seemed to recognize Clio from his former pack, even if they did not see each other very often. They were of differing peer groups, after all, and Rebel hardly socialized with those of his own age as it were. He simply had to make a remark. "You called?" he panted, slightly out of breath but not winded. He was not asking to be subservient, although he was certainly not blind to the wolf's beauty.

xxxxxClio drew herself from the darkness as the sounds of Sure-Claws approached. The scents that drifted to her nose relaxes her tense muscles and when the pair of wolves arrived, she stood tall and proud. He bowed her head as a greeting, noticing the pair was an adult and an adolescent. She brought her eyes back to their level and suppressed a shocked gasp.

xxxxxThe two wolves before her were of those that she recognized, A'cuil was the most familiar. The snake-patterned spots was unforgettable. The half-lidded eyes of the adolescent stumped her at first, but she quickly realized who the gray and brown before her was. The young one that had a reputation of refusing to conform or to listen. With a small smirk she replied, "Yes, I did. I heard wolves nearby, glad to see some fellow Sure-Claws." She breathed a sigh of relief, she had hoped that at least some of her pack had remained.

xxxxxShe took a few steps in the direction the two had come from. Voices drifted from a distancce. Clio turned her blue and orange eyes back to the pair, flicking her tail idly as she tried to grow accustomed to the surroundings. "Who else... stayed?" She asked, choosing her words carefully. Clio had always clung to some sort of hope that their pack has survived somehow. No matter how unrealistic the idea was, she still waited.

User Image Though the howl was first and foremost in his mind, A'cuil couldn't help but appreciate the sound of Rebel's pawsteps with his own. It was different running beside a fellow member of his old pack: Rebel ran with the same economy of movement that they all employed, the same natural steps. He was neither too loud, nor unreasonably quiet - he was merely there, a presence in the wood whose approach would be completely unremarkable to all but those who knew the secrets of their pack. Still, A'cuil thought good-naturedly, he could use further training.

When they came upon Clio, a low chuckle parted A'cuil's muzzle. He leaned forward, moving to gently bump heads with yet another peer. "It is good to see you as well, Clio. What became of you?" His eyes searched her memorable ones, ears flickering as he answered her query. Her tone matched his feelings precisely. "Not many. Paden is here, and Rebel, as you can see. There are few others, but more wolves appear each day." Almost too many, the warrior personally thought. He did not say this thought aloud.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."Ah, I see." He supposed that the scattering of wolves had not only happened to his own pack, but to the other two as well would make quite a lot of sense. Indra remained silent and thoughtful, just taking a moment to let the information sink in to his bones. This large amount of wolves assembled in the clearing had no leader, and therefore no true direction. It was troubling, but he inwardly felt that for now he ought to stay with this group. "My name is Indra." The male lowered his head to Ceres, although his eyes held contact with hers despite the motion. It was nice to know that at least some of these strangers were friendly.

After looking away from Ceres for a few seconds, Indra's tail lifted as he spotted two familiar faces: Rouqie, one of the most revered hunters of his pack, and Andragos, a skilled warrior just like himself. "I'm sorry, but if you don't mind excusing me." He left Ceres' side to join the black and blue male, as it seemed the attention of the violet female he knew was already taken. "Andragos, my brother. It is good to know that the hearts of the Haven pack still live on." He poked the side of the other male with his claws in order to bring the other's focus to himself; he had also heard the howl, but did not recognize the voice and silently chose not to go after it. He sat down next to the wolf that he regarded as family, although he felt the same about all the members of his pack, whether he knew them personally or not.

User Image"Indra." Lifting his head he gave a grin, "It is good to see you once more. The Haven pack will not fall so easily. It is nice to see many wolves here but we are a rag tag group and tension has already been created between us. Hopefully someone will come forth and become the leader so we may continue and fight as one." He felt a connection to Indra like a true brother would but of course they had come from separate families. He grinned at the wolf and gave him a silent stare that seemed to say, 'There are all these beautiful femme here' as if he were asking which one Indra was taking a liking to. Not that he was completely interested in one particular wolf anyway, it would be good to know not to hit on a wolf his 'brother' was looking at. He however looked at Tiki, Ceres, and still trying to search for Fairyn wherever she was.

Rebel stayed back as A'cuil went to bump heads with the female. "Seems everyone is gathering from all the Great Packs to join efforts," he explained. Not that it will do any good, he thought but did not say. He had decided to stick around long enough to see who would step forward as the new alpha, because someone would step forward, he was sure of it. Then, Rebel thought he would challenge whoever it was. He was not a pup anymore, and coming down from his homeland in the mountains had instilled a sense of pride in him that he had lost after the failed attempt to challenge his father. No, he could never live under an alpha that he had not confronted, at least to say that he tried. He would not assume a subordinate role until he knew that the new alpha was the best for the job.

((I'm going to work again, so if our little group wants to go back to the other wolves, just assume Rebel is with them so you don't have to wait for me :3 I anticipate the thread to grow a few pages in my absence, as usual xD))

User ImagePaden watched as his pack mates bolted from the clearing but stayed where he was. He knew it was a member of their pack but it seemed these wolves shouldn't be left alone. Who knew maybe someone would leap out of the bushes at any time. He yawned and closed his eyes a bit before opening them once more. He noticed the lime green and black female once more but they he spotted another female. Her markings ranging from gold to tan to purple. She reminded him of dusk as she was beautiful.

User ImageTaki dipped her head in a good bye to Icarus before she padded over to two large males, one with blazing blue markings that caught her attention and the other a teal with blue swirled marking as she smiled at them. "Greetings." Stopping before them she sat before them.

User ImageThe male narrowed his eyes as his nose twitched. That scent was familiar. He got to his paws and stepped into the crowd, his unearthly chill following in his wake as he followed the scent out of the clearing. Who...What was it? Stopping beside a bush, Departed scented it and found Taki's scent there but it was tainted with the dark chill other another's. What was she up to...?

Amaterasu watched the purple she-wolf run to meet the orange wolf and his bird. She sighed inwardly, thinking that she should have stayed with the brown wolf for her questions; even with the purple and yellow wolf trying to get her attention away from him. Scanning the crowd for any familiar faces, she was dissapointed to not see Issun. Or anyone, for that matter.

Looking up at the sky, she saw a cloud partaily covering the sun. She made a quick circle with her tail, and the cloud was blown away by a wind that affected no other clouds. Ammy then sat down to watch the chaotic mess of meeting and talking. Vaguely she hoped she didn't fall asleep, and that maybe a wolf she knew would pop up.

Tiki turned and looked around, she had fallen asleep. There seemed to be even more new wolves in the clearing now. She wondered if they had found a leader. Deciding to ask someone she padded toward Ammaterasu,
"Hey, have they found a leader yet?" She asked, curious.

Amaterasu dozed off for a bit, and was a bit startled when the colorful female from eariler approched her. She shook her head. "No." she said quietly. She wished Issun was here to talk for her, even if she did occasionally need to correct him. Talking sometimes seemed to be a bother, scince she normally was (somewhat) alone and didn't need to say anything.

Ammy suddenly felt a chill even though the sun was shining. She looked around, trying to identify it's source. It was a white and purple male with what looked like ice jutting out of his shoulders. "Who is that?" she wispered to the female.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Indra couldn't help but chuckle at Andragos' silent suggestion. He turned his head, pale eyes indeed glancing over each of the females in sight. His gaze momentarily fell onto Kora, the pretty adolescent that was chatting with both Rouqie and the young, orange male. "There are some that strike me more than others with their beauty, but of course, I must test their wit before I truly decide to pursue." What good would it be to chase after a woman if she couldn't even count her toes, or know how to properly groom herself? His tail curled so that the tip rested neatly on his paws as he chuckled again with amusement.

But, Indra wasn't here to simply to gaze at the females, no matter how alluring each of them was. He needed to learn, and rather quickly, who was who and how this group was operating. If he intended to stay, he needed a good reason for doing so; if he felt that his chances were better of with him traveling alone, then he would do so. Indra had only caught glimpses of the Darkness, but had never encountered it himself, and therefore had no idea of its growing power or just how weak he really would be if he decided to face it alone.

"Brother, tell me what you know of each of these wolves. I wish to learn about them all, and not just the fae." His tone was jovial, for of course he knew that Andragos' attention was not only limited to checking out the girls. It was one of the ways of the Haven to gether information but to reveal little about oneself, even when sitting in plain sight. Indra was sure that Andragos was also trying to learn, although he could not say for sure how much information his friend had. If Andragos hadn't been with the group for much longer than he had, then Indra knew that there would stil be a lot of work to be done.

"I dont know..." She responded to Ammy. Tiki looked around, a blue male catching her eye.
"Who is that?" She asked the female. Tiki smiled to herself, so many wolves, how would she ever remember who all of them were?

Smiling softly, Ceres looks down upon Prince's sleeping figure. It had reminded her of good times in her past, which caused her to smile a little bigger. She missed the feeling of a young pup curling up to her for comfort. Thinking about the past, she curls up closer to the sleeping pup and watches the other wolves.

User ImageTo be honest he knew that few were from his pack. He knew that each one of these wolves had come from the different packs and were now seeking refuge in the Haven pack's territory, to his partial distaste. Earlier they had felled a deer which the wolf with what seemed to be ice jutting from his shoulders was keeping on ice somehow. The pups Icarus and Kora as well as the others were being taught by the snake color brute called A'cuil, learning to take their first steps as hunters, whether they chose to become them or learn to become warriors, he had no clue. He knew that Icarus, the bright orange adolescent had a strange blue familiar. Something had happened with Rebel, the wolf he explained that had set him off and challenged him, and A'cuil however their differences may have been settled. But a broader range than that he knew nothing. He explained all of this to Indra.

"Frankly," stated the male, "I barely know this pack. I learn and watch how each one acts. Ceres is a bit shy trying to learn about herself. Fairyn acts like the mother. Kora, the one you are looking at, is growing into her adolescence as well as Icarus though he looks much healthier. Roquie, well..." What was there to say about Roquie besides it was Roquie of course. "Wolves keep pouring in. There needs to be a leader. Indra, what would you say to be trying to be alpha, seriously. Not a joke." He had somewhat questioned it, but he wanted to hear it from Indra. They had been close, they had a true brotherly bond. Then he smiled at Tiki, "I'd like you to meet someone. Tiki!" Calling out with his deep silky voice.

xxxxxClio felt the warmth of nostalgia when her head bumped with A'cuil. The days of running with the rest of her pack surfaced for a moment. Familiar sights and smells returned to her as her blue-orange eyes looked over the pair. Lost in her thoughts for a moment, she bathed in the sensation. However, the enjoyment quickly passed and Clio returned to the reality that she shared with them.

xxxxxShe watched his carmine eyes intently as he replied. The warm glow they held comforted her. As A'cuil mentioned Paden, she nodded in response. "I see, so many have come here it seems." She made a mental note to check up on Paden at a later date. Her gaze turned to Rebel as he spoke, white ears flicked his way. The mere thought of so many wolves gathering made her wonder. By the stance the two males held before her, it appeared they did not work under an alpha anymore. She pondered for a moment if the group had managed to form a sort of leadership. "What pack is the alpha from?" Clio asked, assuming one had been chosen.
