She raised her head up in surprise, thereafter remembering that he could read minds.
But why Riddle...? Why did I do that to you.... It just doesn't make any sense... I love you so much... Even more so than my own daughters......... Yet I almost walked out on you..

Kitty looked up at Riddle, her eyes still looking rather depressed. She slowly lifted herself up off of her knees and stood a tad bit above Riddle's head. She reached one of her hands down to Riddle's face, lightly placing it upon his cheek. She motioned his head upwards just a tad, enough to make her face him.
"Riddle.... I want to be with you..... I want to be able to share the joy of life with the one person that I deeply love..... And you know that the only person that could fit that desription would be you..."
Kitty bent her head down to Riddle's, once again kissing his lips.

Riddle didn't return it. He felt too guilty. Because of both Kitty and Zan. He felt he was betraying and cheating Zan, and he knew that Kitty might not be the one he chose. And that would hurt her a lot of he didn't choose her. Once again, he was backed into a corner, with no way out.

Kitty could feel the way Riddle felt. She knew why he wouldn't return the kiss, yet she still insisted on it. She felt like this was the only way she could show Riddle just how much she loved him. She was confused as to why Riddle still loved this other girl, for if she was dead, there was nothing he could do. Still though, Kitty only pressed onward, really hoping to not lose Riddle in the end.

You want to know why I still love her? Because she promised me that she would come back to me. And I promised her that I would stay with her. And she hasn't failed to keep her promise yet.

With that thought entering Kitty's head, she stopped kissing him, backing away slightly. She looked down at the floor, her hands starting to move around each other again out of nervousness.

Kitty couldn't help but smile back, yet it was a sad smile, just like Riddle's.

Riddle nodded and got up. He walked over to the corner of his room and checked on another Hououza feather, who sat quietly on the windowsill, then over to a shelving unit, which held a string of beads. He glanced at the beads, then back at Kitty and waved.
