What a fascinating book he had picked up, if only because it wasn't a book at all! It was a sketchbook, a rather old one at that. What a treasure he had found! he looked over the first page, while most looked at a picture and passed it soon after he liked to take his time. He liked to look at all the little details, the different strokes and the emotion they were to portray.
The first one was a rather beautiful drawing of a Tropius, colored in with color pencils. Vibrant greens and yellows, it certainly was- Ah, someone else was here. I was hard to ignore a persons speech. The elderly Rattata looked away from the sketchbook, only to see that it was another one of his species!
Ah, a young lady, it was good to see the youth enjoyed reading as well. It was good for them, he'd rather they be here doing something like this instead of out in the wild. It was...brutal, to say the least. The Rattata lowered his paw to rub the stump where his tail used to be, passing over the scar right above it. Yes, quite...brutal.
He hoped he wasn't being annoying by trying to make conversation. "Thats a rather charming pendant you have" he talked in a voice loud enough for her to hear, though still silent enough not to disturb the peace of the library. His hand went up to touch the hand woven, purple-striped collar around his neck, "Certainly more fine than my own accessory"
