Luana continued to abuse the rec room equipment until she found herself out of energy and out of breath. She sat on the floor and leaned against the couch, looking up into the void. Her whole head throbbed.

[[ Main Room]] [Andrew finds himself facing a beaded curtain and decides to turn back, until he notices someone in the room. He parts the curtain and steps inside. He sees Luana sitting behind the couch, and with a little effort takes a seat beside her.]

Luana turned when she caught the familiar sounds of of spinning gears, mechanically regulated breathing, and the high-pitched whine that all electronics give off when one takes the time to listen.
"Andy," she said as she watched him sit down next to her.

She closed her eyes. "Yeah, and it was pretty bad, but it's been worse too. It's probably a good thing I got out of the house when I did. Those beanbags never saw it coming." She let out a little laugh.

I am worried about you, Luana.
Even as I recover, you worsen. I... [breathe] have overheard Doc saying that he suspects you do not do all of you treatments regularly, and that you experiment... [breathe] with stopping one or two at a time.

She sighed. "Yeah, it's true. That's why I freak out like I did the other day." She looked at him again. Her eyes told Andrew more than her words did. He saw her exhaustion, her anger, her fear... "I just feel so lost right now."

We take chances every day, Luana. As it is, we barely escape with... [breathe] our lives half of the time, and your condition will decrease our chances even further than you already do.
[His tone changes as he spoke those last few words to one that he had heard Doc take wen speaking to her.]

It was Luana who broke the silence after the countless non-existant moments passed. It might have been a minute or an eternity before she said, "We've had this conversation in our minds too many times before. You know how it always ends."
