Then he remembered the way he'd been feeling before he saw Coline, and glanced downwards, smile evaporating. "Thank you for your concern, but unfortunately I didn't rest very well last night. I was in the Temple, as the Overseer is currently occupying my rooms. And - I do not wish to burden you with this, but the thought of you after dinner last night disturbed me." "Ahah... You saw that, did you...?" she answered bashfully. Coline honestly hoped he hadn't been watching the whole time; she'd made quite a number of blunders and inevitable faceplants in the course of a few hours.
She tilted her head to the side as the Captain's smile faded. She was glad to hear the Overseer was safe, yes, but her attention was directed more towards what came after. "Disturbed?" she echoed. There was a brief pause before she spoke again. "...Why?"

He shifted a little but, as if he were uncomfortable. As a matter of fact, he'd just run out of things he'd wanted to say.
What felt like a long silence passed while he searched for something more to say. Then, of course, the obvious thing sprang to his mind. "I don't suppose we could make up for lost time right now?" Those who watch their backs meet death from the front.

Her brows furrowed for a moment, trying to piece together what he just said, only to turn wide-eyed upon realizing what he'd been trying to say. Did that mean... he missed her? Coline shuffled in her spot, her eyes darting towards her feet, far too embarrassed to look him in eye.
"O-Of course, sir." Her boot was digging a small dent into the sand. "Would you like to sit down, or... Did you have something in mind...?" she managed to say, almost choking on her words in nervousness.

"You needn't look so terrified," he informed her in amusement "I'm not going to rear up and devour you, though I know some of my kind who might, observing how deliciously delicate you are."
"As for where we go and what we do, it is down to you, my lotha'uss."
He took a few steps forward and past her, brushing his arm against hers as he had done over a week before during their sparring session. "Tell me, Coline; do you know my name?" Those who watch their backs meet death from the front.

(( I really like the drawing I'm using in my layout now, btw. =) Just thought I'd throw that out there~
I've also done a little painting-style thingeh of him, but I don't know. My style of drawing and soft painting colouring doesnt really seem to mesh very well. I'm way too stylised o_O ))

The Captain had left her to decide, and truthfully, not a lot of things came to mind. She hadn't been used to being in another's company as she usually kept to herself. But she had to think of something sooner or later.
Coline felt a pleasant chill run up her spine as the Captain passed by her. His name? She thought it odd of him to ask. "Jessie Hawk... sir." she answered, not moving from her spot.

Her lips stretched into one thin line as her posture stiffened. She... she couldn't! Calling the Captain by his name? That would suggest a certain degree of intimacy! And they weren't...
...Were they?
Coline dared not turn to face him, not with that flustered look. "C-C-" a gulp, "Courtesy, s-sir." she finally managed to say.
