Redfith was chewing slowly upon her's instructions, she would do nothing to make her Zia sad. Her eyes quickly swirling a dark green, this was nice, there were new friends to be made, and her friend the gold was looking for hers.

Zia held one hand on Redfith's side and handed her pieces of meat when prompted, she made sure they were small enough that the lovely little green would not choke. She watched the queen with interest, Who do you think she will chose?

I do not know, but I know she will chose a very good partner, Redfith replied and turned her head to the newly hatched brown. Oh, he looks positively dreadful, I think he needs a friend!

Zia followed the little green's gaze and spotted the moping brown, Maybe after the hatching you can say hello.

Redfith crooned encouragingly between bites, hoping that the sad brown would find his.

Panata looked up as soon as the plain brown egg had started to shake, and as soon as the small brown dragonet came from its shell he felt his heart jump into his throat. This was the dragon from the egg he had loved from the first sight, such a beautiful brown!

He wanted to get to his feet and run to it, to strokes its ridges and nuzzle against it, but he couldn't move and it . . . probably wouldn't look to him anyway. Still, Panata felt his heart soaring over to the hatchling with every desire it possibly could.

Oh, how he wanted to move . . .! His legs shifted slightly on the sand, his body wincing against the pressure and stinging it brought. Brown . . .

- -

A dull brown, nearly lifeless and pathetic. Leicha found this clutch had now bordered on too varied amongst its brood, the range being from those with too much personality now towards those who looked like they had no reason for wanting to even be born.

Still, a dragon was a dragon, and this one was young yet. Perhaps . . .

The bronze chirped and chatted with the brown, but to no avail. The metal dragon looked frustrated, but it was at himself rather than the newborn. All of the sudden there was a look of realization, and he turned toward the girls and called out to the gold still wandering among them.

The queen was annoyed by the disturbance, but she rose high as she could on her hind legs, nearly falling over into a smaller candidate whom was lucky to avoid it as she may have been crushed to death.

Once their new gold had answered, the bronze shoved the other male toward the boys. Although he still looked upset, it was much less so. Was there a hint of hope in his whirling yellow eyes now?

Much like the green had been with the gold earlier, the bronze and brown walked side by side through the male candidates.

The gold had yet to choose, even though several of her clutchmates had made it to the food.

Uuni was watching Teharth and Sakneth with apprehension. She had no desire to be in the middle of them should they break into another fight.

She passed a grin towards Redfith and Hers when they showed up, though put her eyes back on the sand shortly after.

He looks sad, Mine! Makereth's belly was fat and full by this time, and so there was nothing stopping him from getting to his feet and squawking in the direction of his clutchmate.

If I steal someone's robe, he will find it funny and laugh again! And with that brilliant idea in mind, he took a first step forwards only to find resistance on his tail.

Uuni had grabbed onto it, hoping that Makereth didn't decide to drag her with. He looked back, a bit perplexed, and she offered him a grin.

You can cheer him up, after he Impresses? she offered, hoping this would sedate them. And she had to agree, it would be funny to see a candidate or rider in just their underclothes standing there while Makereth ran about with their robes. It would probably get them in quite a lot of trouble, too. But she had a feeling that she'd be very used to that very soon.

Havocath looked down at the sad little brown and crooned in his big voice in the most encouraging way a bronze his size could. Sadness like that shouldn't happen in a dragon and he wanted to offer loving support to his future competition. He wasn't a heartless beast like some might be and obviously could be tender hearted if he focused.

A'ras hoped that the little brown would find some encouragement there and take a chance on one of the candidates to help him into life. "He just needs someone to step up I think. Damn...Hav, I really hate it when dragons look that miserable."

Havocath mentally nodded in agreement and continued to flute encouraging sounds towards the youth. He wanted it to feel welcome and loved at least in a sense that a dragon could offer.

The Bronze had come to the aid of his Brown brother, and Gyl looked on with hope as they wandered through the male Candidates together. Who would they choose? Maybe somebody nearby, or maybe, just maybe, one would take a liking to him? Yvath ducked underneath a fold of his robe as the dragonets neared, not wanting to freak out and ruin her bonded's chances. She may have been nervous of everything, but she did recognize when she should duck and when she should stay, and now was a time to duck.

Oh, no! That poor little brown looked absolutely pathetic! But once again, the bronze came to the rescue, calling to the queen for her aid. Aside from the warring rivals from earlier, this clutch seemed very close so far. Still kneeling in the sand, but his head now raised, Belram watched this new bronze and brown pair, worrying for an entirely different reason, move through the boys.

Please be okay, he thought, his heart going out to the worried brown. And thank Faranth for that bronze...such a good brother, such a good friend.

Watching the proceeding Nadia watched as the bronze and brown joined together to go through the boys. Shifting from where she stayed on her knees she watched as the gold raised up and giggled slightly as she almost fell onto one of the candidates, watching the queen right herself she wondered if the queen was almost ready to impress.... the sands where getting very hot against her legs.

Trista sighed relived, there were some very clever dragons in this clutch that was for certain. Silently she praised the bronze for his quick thinking. Crossing her fingers she hoped the brown would now find his bonded.

Arolon held his breathe and stood taller, hoping beyond hope for the brown to impress. The bronze and gold were walking alongside, giving encouragement and help. It seemed to work, the little brown was walking. He gave them a nod of encouragement too, he'd be happy for it to impress to any boy, he just needed that dragonet to live. It was heart breaking to see him like this. He wanted to help too! He prayed silently for the sadness to leave his eyes, for weary joy to paint his eyes green or blue.. as the queen was coming back this way he remembered to get back down into a respectful bow.

Thank goodness. Sellae watched the brown and bronze move along the line of boys together, her heart fluttering. She found herself slipping out of the submissive posture she had been forced into, hope for this unhappy dragonet to find His prevalent in her thoughts. Until she glanced back down the line and caught a glimpse of the female dragonet.

Her cheeks flushed and she resumed her posture, still watching the brown through her lashes.

Attention was all over the place! What a stressful hatching for people not skilled in multi-tasking. The queen had still not chosen, there was a brown on the sands that looked about ready to go between, and now the Imposter Gold Egg was shaking. --But wait! The Arctic Waters Egg rumbled too.

From the Imposter Gold Egg burst a blue of bright, bold color. His personality didn't seem to match as he gazed upon the shaking egg in terror. He was afraid of it? But why?

Anxiously, he turned to the boys, searching carefully, but quickly.

What was tha--Oh, a Blue from the Imposter Gold. He seemed so timid, though his colors were so bright! Maybe he was just nervous? He began to search through the boys, and Gyl nodded his encouragement to the timid Blue before glancing back anxiously at the Brown and Bronze. At least this pair wasn't fighting like the previous pair of their colors had, something that Gyl was thankful for. Just so long as there wasn't any more blood shed on the Sands today, be it dragon ichor or human blood, he would be happy, no matter the outcome.

Dragons were popping out all over it seemed. Still worried for the brown Trista glanced at the blue that popped out of the impostor gold egg. She couldn't help but wonder why he seemed so timid.

Jaylin had stood up from showing reverence to the Gold some time ago, watching the proceedings his his mouth clamped shut. In truth, he did feel a little guilty about snapping earlier -- but what was said couldn't be unsaid.

His gaze was torn from dragon to dragon, excitement building as the brown and bronze strode side by side to the boys and -- what was this? He looked from them to the eggs now moving, focusing on the blue that hatched. So many dragons at once! Jaylin didn't know which to watch first!
