-When doing yourself is highly praised. -When someone says they did themselves, you know they eman their uniform
Yeah, my friend sent me a text message yesterday saying "I did myself!" And I said congratulations. I didn't even give it a second thought until later. and I have a really perverted mind.

When you can tag a facebook photo of your entire (43-member!) section in under one minute. I've had too much practice at this...

--When you know your director's office better than your director does and he has to ask you where things are sometimes.
--When you ask to leave a football game early for the first time ever and your director just about dies of shock.
--When you and your best friend come up with diabolical ways of pranking fellow musicians. We decided to write parts in relative keys (Trumpet in Cbb, Horn in E##, etc) and write in awkward time signatures that have feels of other times. Like a 5-against-7. Or something ridiculous like that.
--When you know about permission forms that are due before your director does.
--When your director jokingly says that you 'produce everything out of thin air' promptly before you find the score he lost two weeks ago.

When your family scheduals their reunion at your next competition so they can actually see you... your own parents included.
I kid you not, this was the Cotton family reunion last year. Best ever, actually.

...When you stole the music from last year because the BD didn't have enough copies and you fell in love with it (way too guilty)
...When you line the hallways to practice a solo/duet/trio/etc.
..When you sit by the band room until the teacher opens the door.
...When you force the BD to open the door to the band room.
...When people ask you 'what are you doing tonight?' the normal answer is 'practicing with some friends' and they know you're talking about band.
...When people know you by your instrument and not by your name. (1st sax girl FTW!)
... When you practically have a 'Super-hero' duo in band (Drum guy and Sax girl).

When the main reason for wanting your football team to get a higher ranking--or at least play highly ranked teams--is so you get better (i.e. later) TV times. Because 12:30 kickoff=6:30 calltime=not fun seeing the sun rise. (random OT, but our game this weekend is being broadcast in 3D. whaaaaat) Who is Puffer Fish --When you and your best friend come up with diabolical ways of pranking fellow musicians. Or something ridiculous like that. lol, I've heard of composers doing this irl. Like writing a C maj chord as B# - Fb - Abb. And then when you ask them why, they say "Well, I don't want amateurs playing my music!"

-when you actuallly understand all of the "you know your a band geek.."
-when fingering your parts is accepted all around
-when your comfortable stripping infront of anyone on a bus (marching)
-when you actually get excited to "get it on" (uniform)

As a percussionist/bass player, these are the ones I do.
~When out somewhere, you habitually tap your hands, fingers and/or feet to a beat in your head or one going on around you.
~Listening to songs you instantly find the beat and figure what time it's in.
~You have, or want to, name a pet after something music-related. (Crescendo, sonata, etc)
~When having sex, you move to some imaginary beat or to the beat of the music you're listening to and never break the beat. (This one I thought was quite funny when it was brought to my attention)

---You take the time to read all of these and nod your head, knowing you have done at least 99% of them! (Guilty and Proud!)
---Can't wait and counting down for next year's band camp starting the day after that year's band camp.
Don't you all love being in band?? This is only my 2nd year in marching and concert but, I love it!!

ClarinetGoddess I've decided that if i ever get my dream dog, I'm naming it Treble(A female cavalier KC spaniel <3 Love those dogs!) Aw, that sounds cute, hahah. An awesome name for the doggy, too. I want a bull mastiff, a regular mastiff, or another St. Bernard and thinking of naming him Odin. But far as musical names, I want a parrot or some other kind of bird and name it Crescendo or Allegro.
