Tansy full on screamed! Her wings stopped beating and she fell to the ground and colasped on the ground into a sobbing heap. Her heart pounded quickly in her chest as she felt her stomache trun. Her jaw quivered as she laid on the floor, tears streaming from her face. "NO! I... I can't. I... AKO! GIDGET! Someone! Please!!! Please! Just.. let me know you're here... I.. I can't-" Her voice cracked as she pulled her knees to her chest and her wings wrapped around her like a shell.

"Gidge? Don't worry kid, I'm coming!" Ako said. Now that he knew where she was, he felt confident he could fight without hurting her. It almost seemed to physically hurt his heart to hear her cry, but this would all be over soon, he just had to get to her. He cautiously started walking towards her voice, when he heard a scream. He swung around, and his mind processed that it was Tansy a split-second before he would have used the cannon. If he went to help Tansy, he might lost track of where Gidget was. He stood, not knowing which to do.

Annie climbed off the robot, almost falling, and she took a deep breath and plunged into the darkness. "Ako!" Annie called, coming to Tansy's side, "I'll take care of Tansy! You find Gidget."
She hugged Tansy and whispered, "Come on, it is okay. Remember it is all fake."
Her brown eyes darted around the dark room: it was near impossible to see anything. Sighing she said loudly, "Mr. Ray, I thought you were powerful: why do you have to resort to cheap parlor tricks like turning out the lights, too?"

Garret stood in the door way, only one left outside of the room. He didn't know what he would face when he went in. He couldn't remember if he had a fear or not.....or...wait, he thought, that could be his trump. Garret had no recollection of his life 2 month ago. Uptil now, he didn't have to worry about a 'fear' it was just him and his new family living in an apartment. Nothing scary there. But why did it have come to this....
Garret flexed his fingers and on his hands grew long and thin claws of ice, and he walked into the room.
Looking right and left, he say nothing, heard nothing, had his friends just moments ago not gone into this very room? It did not feel it. He felt no presence, just the darkness stretching on. Was this his greatest fear? Being alone?

((Sorry for the delayed updates during weekday afternoons. Typing these up while I'm at work is risky business.))
Charles grins from his hidden place in the darkness. Tansy had surpassed the breaking point. The demon begins to slowly materialize to be seen by Annie now, Tansy's fear having now given it life. It hovers over to the two girls and whispers into their minds, "The only thing that is false is your sense of control Annabella. She is slowly coming to terms with her fate. Her fate is to lead those you have delivered into her arms to the next plane." To Tansy and Annie only a bright light flashes and they find themselves on the roof of their penthouse apartment building. The big difference is that everything around them is corroded and dying. Trees are shapeless masses of wood, building have lost their block like appearance. A few even have girders exposed. The sky is an indiscriminate color, thunder and lightning rolling overhead as the clouds roll endlessly. The demon traces the back of it's icy fingers against Annie's cheek and coos, "This is what awaits the world on the day that you die Annabella."
Gidget cries out to Ako, her voice unheard by the others. She starts sobbing heavily,"They put something in my head...I-I can't see anything. Ako, please! I'm so scared"
Garret's darkness is broken when mirrors lift from the void to surround him. Not necessarily cutting off any escape, but there is a mirror on each side. They seem normal at first, but slowly they begin to twist his visage. One mirror is him with no face, mearly a mask of flesh without features. "Who am I?" The image asks Garret. It begins raking desperately against the class with it's icy claws. The mirror opposite of it is him with a darker complexion, "That's a big question isn't it? But is the answer really something you'd like to know?"

Annie looked around, and whispered, "Everything is dead or dying... looks like Hell." She took a deep breath, and turned to the demon, "The day that I die the world is going to go all Topsy-turvy like this? That seems backwards... wouldn't my death make the world better?"
She shivered, the scene scarred her, but it no longer terrified her. She had killed someone with her powers... what had she left to see? What other horrors did she have left to meet.
"Charles..." she said, fighting to keep her voice calm, "I'm not scared of this, but you are scared of us, apparently. Why else are you hiding in the shadows?"

Charles licks his lips in anticipation. Annie's denial excites him. The demon sneers at Annie and whispers, "Make the world better. I'm sorry child, it is you that will lead it to ruin. Why do you think you are immune to poison Annabella? It is because your body has become poison. When you die, your remains will infect the soil. The soil will infect the trees, and the trees will in turn infect the atmosphere. All life on the planet will die slowly, choking and gasping on what used to be their innards. Just like that guard in the stairwell. Why should you care though, you will be dead? No need for remorse in the afterlife. Isn't that right Tansy?"

Annie closed her eyes and shook her head, fighting back tears, telling herself to be logical, "There are a lot of far more poisonous things out there than my body-if my body is truly poison-, no doubt, and the world hasn't been destroyed too much yet."
She let go of Tansy and stood up to face the demon and grabbed at him, not knowing if when she laid her hands on the demon if he would just be a wisp of air or something solid. It was time to test how powerful Charles Ray's illusions were. She swung her fist at the demon while snapping, "I've had quite enough of you! Leave me and my friends alone. Get out of our heads."

Garret stared at the mirrors. When looking in them, he saw not himself but a monster with no face. He cringed when the monster clawed at the mirror, making a sound like scratching a chalkboard with nails. And then one spoke, and he replied. "Who are you? Where are my friends?"

Annie's fist hits the demon square in the jaw. It's head is thrown to the side by the impact. The feeling of hitting it's flesh is not unlike striking something made of ceramic. Which is ironic, because it's face begins to chip and peel away like a shell. What it reveals is the guard that she had killed not even thirty minutes ago. He brings his head up to bring his eyes to hers, tears streaming down his face, "I...I was just doing my job."
His face distorts and stretches into a grotesque yawn. His eyes liquefy creating stark white tears. Red and white fluids eject from his gaping maw as his now malleable body reaches out for Annie. Dripping fingers claw toward her, a gurgling howl coming from it.
The ground around Annie begins to boil and bulge, more "tar bodies" taking shape around her. Gooey hands reach for her, twisted mouths and tortured eyes blaming, accusing, cursing her.
As the faceless Garret continues it's attempt to break free of it's glass prison, the dark Garret pulls a cigarette out of a pack and pops it into his mouth. "There you go asking that again. I'm you jerk-a**." He takes out a zippo lighter and lights the smoke. The smoke he exhales goes through the mirror and into Garret's face. He shrugs and replaces the lighter. "Well, at least I could be you. s**t, I don't even know. What about you, what do you think?" He asks the mirror to his adjacent left. That Garret is a much more clean cut one. He looks around his environment, then at Garret before speaking, "Well the obvious answer is he doesn't have a clue. None of us do, we're just here...thinking...pondering. Oh the endless possibilities. The answer perhaps lies in the fourth mirror. You know, the one you are in."
It is true, there is no longer a fourth mirror. Just a glass pane in front of Garret facing the other three. The brain, the brigand, and the beast. They begin to laugh at him. It's quiet at first, but soon becomes deafening.

Annie screamed in horror, placing her hands to her ears, "Shut-up! All of you shut-up! Leave me alone! Leave me alone or..."
She was frantic, she knew it wasn't real, it couldn't be, she had only killed that one guard. "It was self defense," she cried. A voice in the back of her head- her subconscious- kept telling her to calm down and it wasn't real.
"Show yourself Charles Ray!" She screamed. Turning around in horror seeing a sea of bodies. "Quit playing games! I know... I know this isn't real: this isn't going to work on me."
If only that was the truth, the bodies who kept reaching for her, their gaping eyes, it was horrific, and she felt as if it was all her fault. She could almost feel their pain as they reached for her, but that couldn't be right, and they weren't real...

Charles can't help but smile at her persistence. No one had ever managed this long against his power. Yet he knows that all she needs is a little bit more of a push to make it real. The particles fed off of fear, it made them stronger. Enough time and the particles will become solid, and finish her. He thinks it time to change tactics just a bit.
While Annie is fighting off the tar people, Tansy's demon leans down next to her. It embraces her with it's cold arms and once more whispers into her mind. "Of course, it doesn't have to end as I have shown you. Do you see the creature standing before you?" The demon points to a thrashing shade that was covering it's ears, which in reality was Annie fighting off her own terror. This was unknown to Tansy though, because it had not quite taken Annie enough to make her nightmare solid to the others. All she can see is a wispy figure that seems to have a terrible headache.
The demon smiles it's black toothed grin. "If you can kill it, you will be free of your duty. That shade is your darkness...kill it Tansy. Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Killfreedom it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill itallit'sfault Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Killstrangle it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it Kill it..." The ranting becomes mantra, echoing in Tansy's mind.

((Travi, I feel like I'm RPing with Stephen King. Kinda wish I could follow up with something half decent))
Ako now started running towards Gidget's voice. She had to be close now, he could feel it. "I'm coming, Gidge, just hang on!" He called. He didn't stop to think about the others, he knew they could handle themselves. All his attention was focused on Gidget, and on dealing with whatever that b*****d Charles had done to her.

((OH MY GOD! I'm like shaking so hard right now I can barely type!!!!))
Tansy's eyes widened as she saw Annie come into view. For a moment, she felt comfort settle in, but only for a moment. When the demon came back to her, telling her to look. She shut her eyes tightly and shook her head as tears flowed freely from her eyes. But the chanting continuned, and she forced herself to look. The shade, as the demon had called it, could free her. If she could kill it. She had to. If she could.... She pushed herself off the ground, her arms shaking, and barely holding her weight. She stood on wobbly knees and slowly took a step towards the shade. "I.. Must...." She was within arms reach now, as she staggered slowly towards it. She reached out both her arms. The soft sound of jingling reached her ears. She sniffed as her tear filled eyes looked down to the bracelet on her wrist.
She paused for a few seconds, and staired at it with blank eyes. A face came her to, soft and smiling. A strange sort of smile reached her lips. The face was laughing as it looked down to a box which it held in it's hands. The laughter came to her ears as the hands opened the box and held out the braclet she now wore around her wrist. 'It matches mine.' The voice said as it held up it's wrist and showed the same beads. 'So that we're always together, no matter what. We're sisters, and together, we can get through anything. So whenever you feel lonely, just remeber me, and share my strength.' Tansy blinked again and shook off the haze. The shade seemed to take on a familiar shape. "No...." She said softly as she turned back to the demon. She felt stronger. "No." She said again almost laughing. "No... you're wrong." She smiled brightly. "I'm not an Angel of Death. I'm you're angel of death. And I'm going to bring you down." She grinned brightly.

((I'm glad you guys are enjoying this. Tell you what, if you can somehow manage to conquer your fears at almost the same time something really neat might happen ninja ))
Charles frowns a bit. Not because Tansy had grown a backbone, but because now he's going to have to kill her. He sighs and allows the creature she has created to run rampant.
The demon shrieks at Tansy, it's wings opening wide and menacing. "How dare you defy what is your birthright? You would spit on the face of God? You will suffer for your insolence!" The ends of the demon's bony fingers erupt into ten massive claws. Each one is almost a foot long. It's slythering tongue snakes out and licks it's lips in blood lust. It howls once more, then makes a flying leap at Tansy, baring it's claws down at her.
A bright light flashes before Ako. It is the illuminating glow of a television screen. Another one appears next to it. The one on the left is displaying rapidly changes pictures of random parts and theories. The other shows it's finished product in almost an instant. Soon more televisions begin to light up. Tens, dozens, hundreds, they stretch as far as his neck will allow him. Yet there is a break in the screens. A shape that is blocking some of the light.
There is a table propped vertically in a crux. Strapped to it by the wrists, chest, pelvis, and ankles is Gidget. Her colorful dress is now replaced by a sterile hospital gown. Her once vibrant and perky pink hair is disheveled and dirty, hanging down in front of her face. As she lifts her chin to see Ako, it becomes obvious to him that she is incapable of doing so. Her eyes have been removed, replaced now by hundreds of small cables that lead to their respective sides of the TV wall. The left side appears to be feeding her information at a ridiculous rate. Yet her gift allows her mind to process each one instantly, their solutions displayed on the right. Gidget strains against her restraints as she begs, "Ako, are you there? Please say something, I can't see you."
