She bit her lip nervously and watched him "I was going to ask... if I might ... stick around.... you seem lonely... and I'm scared...." she said softly.

He nodded and brought her a cup of water. "Not a problem, I understand." He was lonely, but it wasn't new to him. "I'll set you up in the room closest to mine in a little while." He said as she sat back down in his chair.

She smiled at him and took a sip, then a large gulp suddenly realizing how thirsty she was. "Tell me about you..." she requested softly still sitting at his feet.

He smiled and shrugged. "Not much to tell. I build bodies, bring people back to life, have a demanding family and I'm attempting not to become an alcoholic." He said with a chuckle and handed her his cup.

"Because when stress hits you, there is nothing like drinking a whole bottle of some kind of heavy alcohol." He said honestly as he stood and found a bigger glass for you, filling it with water and handing it to her. "What is your favorite food?"

She thought about it a moment. "Ummm.... stuffed mushrooms." she said then blushed because that had to sound odd to him. She stood up a whole foot shorter than he was and took a sip of water. " You?" she asked trying to avoid his eyes.

"Anything bloody." He said as he wondered into the kitchen, knowing she needed something to eat. He pulled everything out for stuffed mushrooms, wanting to make her a little more comfortable around her.

She followed him like a lost puppy, and just as cute an innocent. "What do you do for fun?" she asked wanting to learn about him, how to make him happier, and less lonely.

"Depends on my mood. Sometimes I go out on the town to meet people and sometimes I stay in and just feed myself until I can't eat anymore." He chuckled and started to put things together for her.

She tilted her head sweetly and stole an uncooked mushroom "are you easily depressed then?" she asked. The though made her quite sad. In her eyes he was her wonderful and generous savior, and to think he could be so miserable was saddening on a new level to her.

He chuckles and almost shook his head, but it would have been a lie. "It runs in the family, the only one out of my family right now who is happy is my mother. She has a baby on the way and my father to love her and take care of her." He put the mushrooms into the oven after it was ready, leaning on the kitchen counter and looking at her.

"Why haven't you settled down and married then?" she asked curiously. She saw the longing in his eyes when he mentioned his family, and she somehow just knew it was because he wanted that too. It was intuition, woman's intuition. "A handsome kind man like yourself should have women lined up around the block."

He smiled softly and rubbed the back of his neck. "The sad thing is I have a few, but all of them are so young I don't think they can handle how much love I could give them, having them run off." He sighed and closed his eyes for a moment before looking at her again. "And what about you? Don't you want a family?"

"I do... but I want to be loved... i wouldn't be able to just be accepted... i want to be loved." she said thinking about it and looking at her hands. "My mother always told me it didn't exist though, I mean I watched her and my father's marraige fall apart, and six others she jumped into... So I guess it's an impossible dream." she said before looking up "I think you under estimate us youngins." she said brightly, changing the subject.
