Raquel waved them off with a smile as she shut the door, turning to a resting Damian with a smile. Though her smile faded slightly as her eyes rested on his knee.
"...Darling?" She came over near him, arms crossed as she thought. "I'm hoping that leg wont give you too serious of problems later...It doesn't seem to be mending like the doctor said...even when you do stay off it..." She bit her lip in concentration as she just looked at him.

"I called them while you were taking your shower this morning, actually..." Damian looked up to her with a guilty smile. He hadn't wanted to worry her when he knew everything was fine.
"The doctor says it's a response to stress. I should be doing physical therapy, but seeing as we're not on Veratia, the doctors do not know how to treat it. Once we get back, I promise I will see them. For now, I should stay off it almost completely..."
Damian looked down to his slightly swollen knee. Staying off of it would mean he would be useless, lazy, and having Raquel wait on him like the spoiled man he was and used to be in more severity.

Raquel didn't smile however. She kneeled down next to him, resting her hand so so lightly on his hurt knee, almsot afraid to touch it in fear of causing him pain. "I'm so sorry Damian...that you have to go through all of this... Just for me." She looked rather guilty herself, that horrible night replaying in her mind repeatedly. Though she attempted to shake it off as she took his hand and kissed it gingerly.
"But dont you worry...I'll be here to take care of you... who knows, maybe just being in Druis with this country air will help you relax more... I want no talk of work, the ballroom or veratia. I even promise I wont mention school, marriage, or finding a home. All of that can wait... What cant is your healing...alright?" She reached up, gently stroking his face and hair with a loving smile.

He felt as if there was no way he could say it enough times. She had been worth it. The pain, everything had been worth it to save her from that terrible fate of being taken away, only to be erased. Her life up until then would have been worthless if it ended in blankness.
"Raquel, don't make this all about me. You need to enjoy the air and sun as well. Get all that Veratia smog out of your system..."
Damian cupped her face in his hand for a moment. It wouldn't matter what he did in Druis so long as she was alright, too.

Raquel smiled, shaking her head. "You're going to enjoy yourself too. Despite not being able to move, I'll make sure you don't spend your entire rest here inside.." She smiled warmly, leaning up to kiss him sweetly.
She had to admit, she had hoped her trip to Druis would involve her and Damian getting lost on long walks through the country side, and maybe even finding a perfect place for themselves.
But with his leg so out of shape, she knew better. She didnt want him to be in anymore pain. Being on his feet so long for the wedding had to take its toll, as well as dancing, which should have been out of the question, but he did it anyways. She loved him but he was stubborn sometimes.

"Tell you what," he said. "I will get crutches. I know this ruins our time here, Raquel and I want to be mobile..."
Damian would fight the idea of having any time spent doing absolutely nothing but staring at the ceiling. If moving could be done without stressing the knee, he would do it.
"I think I might have packed the crutches in my bag. The doctors had given me the newest model... runs on magnets that keeps a forcefield between the underarm pad and ground piece. They told me they should work so long as the battery is charged."
Veratia had no technological feat untouched, even when it came to the most basic tools.

Raquel smiled appreciatively, taking his face in her hands and kissing him for a lingering moment. "Thank you love... but maybe...maybe if we get utterly bored ok?" She smiled. "I'd like to just sit still for a little while. Like now....I Thought I'd try my hand at cooking a home cooked meal." She offered with a little smile as she was curious as to whether he thought this was a good idea, or just terrifying.

"Do you need help? They don't have an automatic anything around here, hardly. Not that I saw, anyhow, for the kitchen."
Which wasn't entirely true. The refrigerator had voice activated settings and the lights had sound activation when the option was turned on, but nothing was so fancy as his own home.

"Its ok love. I found a recipe earlier when i was skimming through on the laptop, looking up some in for about school... i was bored and hungry, so i figured out how to make some home made spaghetti." She winked, standing up straight. "I asked Lorey to add just a few extra things on her grocery list that i'd need to make it, so I'm going to try not to ruin it." She laughed a little, turning to the kitchen.
"That and it'll help give me practice for when I get to cook for you on a regular basis...." She smiled and blushed a little at the thought, seeming to dance a little in place as she turned to give him a big smile. "I'll be like a real house wife! Like the ones on TV? At least when it comes to cooking." She shrugged, not sure where she'd be in her education when they got married.

Something didn't sit well with Damian about Raquel being a house wife. Of course that was a job itself, but what did her education amount to if she didn't actually do something with it?
Regardless, he stepped down from that readiness to argue about it, and simply let her have the life she wanted.
"I can cook for myself, if meagerly," he admitted. "You know that I do not want you to coddle me, Raquel. I want to help you, not be served dinner on some golden platter..."
Again, the guilt of how he had lived his life thus far sunk in. The people who had thankless jobs were too far away to touch somehow then.

"Oh you better believe you will Mister!" She gave him a scolding nod but smiled as she went through the fridge and cabinets. "I mean, I love you and all....but I'm not doing all the work." she winked, pulling out a large loaf of fresh bread. "But while you're hurt or sick, or just when i feel like it...yea I'll cook up a storm. But I don't know where I'll be in my life to say I'll be home to cook all the time or not. I just gotta see where this schooling thing takes me..." She sighed, not mentioning that since they'd been here ,she had started to reconsider again.

"Let it take you wherever you wish to go!" Damian's business ventures were settled on the internet and on phonelines, with the occasional meeting. Wherever Raquel would go, so would he.
"You know I'll follow you around the galaxy if I have to."

Raquel put down the bread in her hands, coming over to kiss him deeply. "I know..." She whispered once she pulled away slightly. "But I wont venture too far...I promise..." She smirked a little, eyes closed, forehead pressed against his.

In that moment, butterflies rose in his stomach. She would always have the power over him to do that, even when he was in slight pain and exhausted.
"I love you, Raquel. Thank you for looking after me."
He would have loved to have her sit on his lap and worry about dinner later. He would have loved to take in the quiet house as they stayed close. But, dinner was something they did need, especially since he had missed lunch because of packing.

"Of course darling..." She whispered back, giving him one last carress and kiss on the forehead before going back to focusing on dinner.
She pulled out a recepie she had scratched down on some paper she had in her pocket, rereading it all before getting started.
After some time, things started to come together and it looked and smelt pretty good. It wasn't amazing, but she had to admit it wasn't bad. She had almsot burnt the garlic bread but saved it just in time. "I think...Its just about ready..." She called as she took a taste of the sauce, nodding but still added a pinch or two more of some spices. She turned the heat down, turning to a high cabinet, reaching up to grab a bottle of wine to go with their home cooked meal. "I hope its not too terrible..." She laughed as she fished out some bowls and silverware for them as well.
