Rhea smiled ruefully. "If he catches me someday without my staff," she murmured softly, "he might not have a choice with me."
Perhaps that would be necessary - not only for him, to help put him in his place, but for everyone else, to help to understand him, and how he felt, and help them to understand better how to deal with it.
Ruque stared up at Aragost, cowering behind Kanis. He had never liked Corrah - he had been terrified of him, really - and Aragost looked so much like him (without the glowing blue eyes) that it was almost as if he were in his presence again.
Aragost smiled at the children and held out one hand to them. "Come," he said softly. "It is all right ... there is no need to be afraid of me, nor of anything else while you are with me. I will protect you."
Kanis was the first to step forward, feeling oddly brave for once, and she took Aragost's hand and held it tightly. Finally, she allowed herself a small smile of her own. This felt familiar indeed.
Aras clung more tightly to Miyu - not because she was afraid of Aragost (which she wasn't, though she was a bit nervous), but because Miyu was the one who had become her comforter, her lifeline, in this new world in which they had found themselves.

Cindy chuckled that was true, "That may be, but let's hope that doesn't happen. Hopefully just being with Ulani and Ulrich will help, it could be living isolated didn't help much either. Most of my Second siblings find there is nothing for them in the world they were created in, with so few and not really much in the ways of life fulfillment most rather just work in Gaia... or here."
So maybe even being here might help her.
"We'll see.... I'll still be here and Miyu will be here for about a month and father cannot get away without meeting Celebor's whole family."
Miyu patted Aras' back not really use to being the one who seemed sure. She met Rose a few times of course and it was hard to forget Adan because Lin was always hanging around him, but she didn't know this new person
"Let's go," Miyu encouraged.

Rhea nodded. "I don't know your father very well," she said softly, "but I think he is the type of person who would not let Ruran act as he was acting ... yes? Like Nako. She will put Ruran in his place, and no mistake."
Whether or not he would learn anything from it was debatable - but she had faith in her grandmother's abilities.
Aras nodded and followed along as Aragost began to lead the way.
"Is it far?" she asked, wondering if they were going to go into the mountains as Corrah had always taken them.
Aragost shook his head, walking slowly for the benefit of the children. "Only the walk of a few minutes," he said softly. "Rose will be happy to see you all ... and perhaps Ecthelion will be contented to have new playmates, and stop running off as he always does."

Cindy did not know whether to laugh or sigh at that comment about Donovan, because it was true. However Donovan tended to pick on people, it meant either he liked you, or he thought you were annoying and he didn't like you at the moment.
"He would say something horribly blunt," Cindy replied, "And yes, I know she will. I've heard a few stories even before coming here."
From what Miyu managed to gather Ecthelion was probably a child like these children. Now who's child... possibly Rose's it wouldn't surprise her really.
"He runs off?"

Rhea closed her eyes softly. "Then let him be blunt," she said softly. "He needs to hear it. Probably it is best if it comes from a human. He needs to know that humans are not nearly as weak as he likes to believe that they are."
She looked over at Cindy. "That is why he hates his mother so," she murmured. "Because he believes that humans are weak."
Aragost chuckled softly. "Ecthelion is a young boy," he murmured, "and young boys like to explore and play. Yes, he likes to run off ... more to have fun trying to be like his father than anything else."
He led them along the river towards the other house, which was rapidly coming closer.
Ruque was trailing along behind everyone, walking by himself, but he perked up a bit when he saw the cozy looking house that they were heading towards. "Is that it?" he asked, speaking up finally. "Is that where we're going?"
Aragost nodded. "You may go ahead if you wish," he added quietly. "It is safe."

Cindy looked thoughtful and a bit bewildered at that, "I can't imagine how or why.... but yes, he does need to know. It's a good thing he's here and not in Gaia then...."
The mere thought of Ruran making the awful mistake of insulting perhaps a human mage would be terrible. At least here, humans for the most part (Gaians not counted) could not use magic.
Miyu giggled, she could see that Adan was always going off if she recalled correctly. Seeing the house up ahead she looked down at Aras to see if she would be interested going ahead as well.

"Perhaps Papa would know more," Rhea suggested to Cindy. "He has been to a lot of different places ..."
Aragost of course would know best, but as he tried not to be too near her for too long, for the sake of her magic ... she wasn't sure if they would be able to ask him about it.
Aras shook her head and held tightly to Miyu's dress. "I'll stay with you," she squeaked.
It seemed she had found her security blanket, so to speak. Someone to replace - at least for the moment - the friend that she had lost.
Ruque looked a little shy, but from what he could tell everyone here was really nice - as long as Ruran wasn't making them angry. He wasn't really afraid to go ahead.
And so he did.
"Where is everyone?" he asked as he reached the house just ahead of the others. There was no one in sight outside, which was curious to him - but then, he and his family had always lived outside.

Cindy mused, maybe Adonai did, but this was a really unique case.
"Maybe... I'd just wish I knew how he came up with that idea, Seconds are just has unique and full of variety as Gaia...." she sighed, "Ah well, that's for the future, and that we'll deal one step at a time."
Miyu smiled as she patted Aras back before looking back up at Ruque, "Have you knocked the door?"

Rhea nodded and smiled at Cindy. "But for now," she suggested, "can we do some more meditation and exercises? I ... need to clear my head ... and find my control back."
She was still a little shakey from the experience.
Ruque blinked at Miyu. "Knock?" he repeated. "That girl didn't knock when we went to see Ulani and Ulrich ..."
"That's because they're her grandparents, and she lives here," Aras pointed out logically. "So they probably see her a lot. But we're just new here, so ... we should knock."
She looked to Miyu for confirmation.

"Of course," Cindy agreed, "Shall we do this outside or inside? Perhaps we'll get Whisper."
Whisper had always been good with Rhea, and maybe Rhea would like to have the cat near.
Miyu nodded, "Yes, that would be best when meeting someone for the first time."
Of course she also knew once the children began living here that might no longer be needed. Like the way Feng and Ryu didn't need to knock (not that it stopped Naida it seemed fun for her).

Rhea thought about it for a moment. "Perhaps it's safer outside," she suggested, "in case something happens ..."
Not that she wanted anything to happen.
"But I would love if Whisper could be here," she added with a warm smile.
Ruque nodded again and turned to the door, then raised his fist and knocked solidly. "Does it have a lot of rooms inside?" he asked curiously. "Like Ulani and Ulrich's house?"
He hadn't seen most of the house of course, but he had been able to see that there were doors going off from the hallway.

"We could go to the house to get Whisper first and then go somewhere, maybe behind the house to meditate," Cindy suggested.
She wanted to have Rhea feel as comfortable as possible before meditating.
Miyu looked thoughtful and finally replied, "I do not know."
She had never been in that house during her last visit, but of course she rarely came to the valley.

Aragost smiled and prodded Kanis ahead gently. "Go ahead," he said softly. "There is nothing to be afraid of."
Kanis looked up at him anxiously, but she let go of his hand just as the door opened and an energetic little elven boy bounded out, black hair bouncing on his shoulders.
"Hi!" he said brightly. "Who are you? Well I know Ar'gost but who's the rest of you all?"
Aras blinked at the boy, at first clinging more tightly to Miyu's dress, but then she slowly relaxed her grip and simply stared at him.

Since there was someone else who was more nervous than Miyu at the moment who needed her, Miyu managed to keep calm. In fact she didn't seem to notice all that much that she was being put into a very new situation.
"I'm Miyu, and this is Aras, Kanis, and Ruque."
She paused, she had heard the names in the past and since Ruran was obvious not here, it was clear who the others were.

The boy giggled. "Those are funny names!" he exclaimed. "I'm Ecthelion! Did you all get rescued from the bad people? I never saw you before!"
He pointed up at Miyu and grinned. "Mama told me your papa is the one who goes with on the hunts, and that he was one of the ones who helped to rescue Mama!"
Ruque looked a little worried at the boy's words, and he didn't even notice the comment about their names. "Um ... Miyu? What are the bad people?" he asked anxiously.
