He nods slowly when she pressed a finger to his lips to keep him from talking. He gathered her tighter into his arms, holding her tightly for a moment before he reluctantly let her go, his voice slow. "So when do we start heading back to the portal?"

"Whenever you want to," Serenity smiled back. "It looks like Ian won't be getting lessons in today, and I think Prince might be a little preoccupied now ..."

Not to mention, she had no idea what time it would be by the time they got back, but they did still have to meet her parents and tell them the big news.

He smiles softly and he nods slowly. "Mmm. Alright." He smiles as he keeps a loose hold on his fiance, glancing at the two boys. "You know, I was thinking of enrolling Prince into the school. I'm gone for such long periods of the day.. and I have my own studies.. I do what I can, but I'm afraid I can't do as well as a school can."

Serenity blinked in surprise. "Into my school?" she questioned, not exactly sure which one Gaunt meant. Sure, there was a school in the Seconds world as well, but it was mostly for magic.

She thought about what that would mean. Prince wouldn't be able to stay with Gaunt, then ... he would have to either live with her and Ian - quite possible - or in the dorms, which she would rather not have him do.

Ian looked up at Serenity and Gaunt, half hopeful, half excited. "Prince can go to school with me?" he asked, hardly daring to hope it would be true. "Really? Can he?"

He shrugs a little and keeps Serenity close to him, softly stroking her hair a and taking a slow sigh, still keeping his voice low. "I don't know. He has so much to learn that I don't know I have the time to teach him. I can't enroll him in a traditional school because he's not like the other kids. He'll be the target of so much fear and hate for who he is.. I want him to go to school with other Seconds." He smiles a bit at Ian and he nods slowly. "It's possible, Ian. It can happen."

Serenity smiled and reached for Gaunt's free hand, squeezing it tightly in her own. "Our school is perfect for Seconds," she assured him softly. "Grandma is the headmistress ... she has several Seconds of her own. She makes sure that it's accommodating for them. And ..."

She giggled and winked at him. "Family doesn't pay tuition."

He laughs softly and he shakes his head. "In that case, it sounds like you're trying to convince me to get married now." He grins and he winks back at her, nuzzling his lips against her cheek. "Mmm. It's what I want to do. I want Prince to be educated. He needs to understand how to read and write and do math and learn about his heritage and history.. all that sort of stuff. And I think your grandma's school would be the best place."

Serenity leaned her head against Gaunt's lips and smiled. "Grandma wouldn't make you pay for just a few months," she told him softly. "You would already be counted as family, I'm sure."

She turned her head and kissed him lightly. "Whenever you want to send Prince, I'm sure it will be all right."

Ian turned and held up one hand to Prince to give him a high five. "Yeah!" he beamed. "Prince! You and me can go to the same school! Isn't that really cool? It'll be so much fun! Maybe we can even be in the same classes!"

Prince blinks when suddenly he was getting a high-five from Ian. I was too busy trying to figure out the puzzle. He blinks a few more times, then smiles softly. "Really? I can go to school with Ian?"

Gaunt nods and he chuckles softly. "I guess when we visit the Winters' clan ground, i'll be talking to the headmistress about enrolling you, Prince."

Serenity giggled and squeezed Gaunt's hand slightly. "We'll have to see what time it is, and if she's still awake," she reminded him. "She's rather pregnant right now, so I don't know what hours she keeps anymore."

Ulrich beamed at them. "Give Kara our regards," he said cheerfully. "Well, and everyone else as well," he added with a chuckle. "Can't leave anyone out of course."

Serenity nodded. "We will. But we should get going then ..." She slipped out of Gaunt's arms and picked up Ian, thinking that Prince might be a little preoccupied with his puzzle to carry Ian.

He nods and he bows to Ulrich. "Thank you for your hospitality and gifts, Ulrich. Be well, and we promise that we'll find time to come and visit you." He smiles softly and takes Serenity's hand with one hand, and brings Prince along with the other. He was indeed busy with the puzzle. At first he thought it was a stupid gift, but he wanted to solve it!

Serenity smiled warmly at Ulrich. "Yes, thanks for everything," she said warmly. "And wherever Ulani is, tell her goodbye and thanks from us as well."

Ian clutched his bow tightly and waved. "Bye Ulrich!" he beamed. "Thanks for the bow! It was really nice meeting you!"

Ulrich smiled at everyone. "And it was nice meeting all of you as well," he chuckled. He was pleased to see how involved Prince was with his puzzle. His own grandchildren had been rather unimpressed, but it seemed that Prince was, like the other Seconds he knew, more intuitive and determined than normal children.

Adonijah, who was still sitting at the table silently, merely nodded his head at the others.

And so everybody leaves. He smiles softly as he walks with Serenity. "So tell me a little more about the school? What exactly do Seconds learn when they're enrolled in the school?" He glances at her. He wanted to make an informed decision, afterall.

Serenity thought about that. "Well ... I guess it's just like any other school," she murmured. "Reading, writing, mathematics ... and as you get into the higher grades, sciences and other maths, and of course the choice of art and music and ... I guess the only catch is that each student is under one of the two heads: under Grandma, as a magic student, or under Headmaster Scott, who teaches fighting. All of our family is under the magic class, but it's more theory than anything ... unless of course you want Prince to learn magic there."

She shrugged. "But all the magic I know - practical magic anyways - I learned from the goddess Minty in the Seconds World. I just learn applications and theories in school now."

Ian grinned up at Gaunt. "I'm learning about the magic, too," he nodded, "because Grandma Kara says that Headmaster Scott is scary and irresponsible. Grandma 'Nara's don't like him much either, but she says if I wanna learn to fight I should come here and learn from her family."

Gaunt nods slowly as he hears the explaination. So it sounded like the only real decision to make was whether or not he wanted Prince to fight or know about magic. And, to be honest, he wasn't really all that intersetd in Prince learning to fight beyond self-defense. He dind't necissarily want Prince to learn to make war. "Mmm. I see." He smiles softly. "So Prince, how do you feel about going to school?"

Prince furrowed his brow as he was dragged away from his puzzle and he blinked up at Gaunt a few times. He thought for it for a few moments, then he smiles. "I think I'd like to go. I get to learn more stuff, and I get to spend more time with Ian too!"
