Auren was busying himself with work in the stables when he heard Oriana descend into a catnap. Being able to hear her breathing and heartbeat from a house away had its advantages and disadvantages.
Finishing up, he cleaned himself up and went into the house, quietly walking into the empty living room, leaning against the door frame.

 Not quite in a deep sleep she awoke to the feeling of being watched and looked over her shoulder, "Hello," she smiled as she stretched out of her chair and walked over to him, "Feeling hungry yet?"

"I'll nibble on something like I usually do... by my stomach's reckoning, I'm not due for a real meal for a couple of days." he said with a smile. "Room looks good, by the way. Told you the colors would work out."
As always, he noted to himself, his wings took on a life-like appearance again. He had stopped wearing his cloak around the house, seeing as that he felt there was no reason to. Outsiders, on the other hand, would have him in his cloak in a few heart beats.

She giggled, "Yeah, you were right this color was better than the other one. I just can't wait till the rest of the furniture gets here. The room's looking pretty bare right now." she walked out of the living room, giving Auren a peck on the cheek before leaving, and went to the kitchen to make a small lunch, "How about some water? you've been outside for quite some time."

"Nope, I'm good. By my stomach's reckoning, I'm not ready for a meal again." Auren said with a smile. "Oh, and thanks." he nibbled at his sandwich, before setting it aside.
"Y'know, we've been together for a few weeks, and I've been meaning to ask. What would you like happen to see?"

She blushed, and fidgeted with the dish towel, "Ummm..." she searched through her mind for an answer, though she knew what she wanted... What would he take? "I guess... I've just been taking it as it comes, and enjoying the time I spend with you." she suddenly got reminded of her predicament, and sighed, "But now that you mention it... I do have to get married to someone in five months... so I should probably quit messing around and get something figured out..." she set the towel down and looked out the kitchen window.

"One question, my dear. Does this marriage have to be politically convenient or is it whoever you want?" He said while silently getting up and placing his dish in the sink.
The sandwich went to the dog. Auren wasn't going to eat it so why not give it to someone who does?
However, there was a glimmer of reflected light coming from the sink as well. Auren hugged her gently, wrapping his arms around her waist and whispering into her ear; "Don't need an answer now~ Only when you have one~"

"The marriage is for my protection. My father doesn't want me living alone with a bunch of animals for the rest of my life... There's nothing political about it... He just set an age for me and said, 'you're getting married by this age or I'm finding you a husband.' “ she grumbled as she washed the plate and set it aside. She was reaching into the water to drain it when she felt something else. Auren wrapped his arms around her and whispered in her ear, and her heart stopped. She felt the object in the sink; It was round, had a square shaped object at one end of it, and… she took a deep breath and tears came to her eyes. She turned around and looked at him, “Are you sure you want to… I mean… ” she blushed as her tears began to fall and froze on her cheek. She took the ring clenched in her right hand and slipped it on her left ring finger. Oriana glanced up at Auren for a brief moment, then found herself dashing into his arms crying softly, “I love you Auren, and yes, I‘ll marry you.”

Auren thought he had heard angels sing when she agreed. Smiling broadly, he kissed her lovingly, wrapping his wings around her as he held her tightly.
He broke the kiss hesitantly "Protection you said? Hah... You wound up saving me~' the Huscarl said as he brushed away her tears.

Oriana laughed, "you know i would have died without you... I would have never cut someone's head completely off. it's too... much gore." she shivered remembering the bloody battle, "Let's try not to get in a fight like that again..."

"Agreed my love~" he said while squeezing tightly. He then leaned forward and whispered into her ear "I love you~" before giving her ear a love bite.
He sighed peacefully, nuzzling her neck.

"I love you too." she sighed pleasantly as she nuzzled her head under his chin. As the two new lovers were snuggling in the kitchen, Hali snuck in and helped herself to an apple. Oriana noticed some movement and looked over Auren's shoulder to find her sister snooping through her drawers while eating her food. "Hali?" Oriana growled still holding Auren. Hali looked over innocently at her sister and smiled, "Oh, Carry on... I'll be around when you finish..."

Auren blinked as he looked back. How had he not- oh. It made sense. He was so focused on his love that he did not notice Hali even getting close to the building.
His eyes narrowed as he stared temporary hatred at her. "...Didn't you leave two weeks ago?"

Hali set the apple down and laughed, "Yeah, I did, but when got home I had a dozen invites to parties... and only eleven unfortunate souls that needed their jewels tested... So i needed someone to go to the last party with!" she walked around the two and helped herself to a glass of water. "Well, you aren't getting any of mine, I like to actually test my people!" Oriana hissed as she watched her sister. "I don't want any of your men... they're so cold!" she began laughing, and then let it fade to a sigh, "get it? Anyways, I know how good of a ballroom dancer you are, and i wanted to see how good you two are together in public, so since you two are together because of me... I figured you owed me one! What do you say?"

Auren thought to the sole time he danced... and decided flat out his descision.
"No." he said simply, flat, and with finality. "Appearance, sure. A ballroom dance? No."
