Rebecca nodded as she ripped half of the pad up and gave it to her. 'Sorry I can't read sign langage.' She wrote and showed her with a sorry look on her face. She then turned to Cory and wrote 'No thats you'

Kat took the paper and wrote 'Thank you. And I can teach you if you would like. Most people know a little bit even if they don't know it.' before showing it to them. She ignored all the display of affection between Cory and Rebecca as she wrote some more. 'I'm Kat. Haven't I seen you somewhere before?'

Rebecca shruged. 'Sure I guess.' She wrote as she thought for a minute. 'I'm Rebecca. Maybe at school or something?' She wrote as she looked around the room.

'Probably.' Kat agreed, trying anything to keep her mind off of her mother's death. 'So... um... what classes are you taking?' she asked them both.

Rebecca had to think for a moment. 'AP english, calculus, Fitness gym...' Was all she wrote before showing her the paper.

'Calc? Wow. I heard that's a really hard class. I'm taking Physics, Comp, Mechanics, and Gym. And I'm on the tennis team.'

'Calculus is actually really easy, you just have to learn certian tricks.' She said softly 'I used to play tennis...' She said thinking of her brother.

Cory stood silent. He didn't know what to say because they had both been writing and passing it back and forth,"oh snap... haha that was so funny. Great one... just a knee slapper right there.." he said sarcastically. Feeling a little bit of a speaking barrier with the two. Cory rolled his eyes,"yeah... well anywho."

'Well, I'm sure you've got things to do...' Kat wrote out for both of them to see, before walking to the music store that was across from the bookstore. She stared longingly at the drumset in the window, knowing that she couldn't possibly waste money on such a thing... but she just wanted it soooo bad it was painfully obvious.
