Black Cat smiled back. "That-a-girl. I'm thinking that rubies and pearls would be great with your hair," she purred, and then stepped off the roof. Instead of enjoying herself, she immediately started web-swinging in a random direction, her focus on speed. If they lost whoever-it-was, they could always go back to the jewels.

Rosie's smile grew thinking about that. She agian wapped her arms around the woman and closed her eyes as they left the roof. After a moment, she opened them again. It didn't feel like they were doing any flips, so it should be alright to look this time.

Seeing that the woman was leaving, the man decided that it would be a good idea to be able to find her again. He had a feeling that she might come in handy for his plans later. He held out a hand, and a thin tendril of magical energy lashed out, invisible and imperceptible, and "tagged" her, so that he would be able to locate her if he needed to. With that, he watched her go thoughtfully.

The eerie feeling dissipated almost immediately, so Black Cat quickly made a turn back to the jewelry district, which was just as empty as she had hoped it would be. She carefully knelt, then sliced through the lines, allowing the girl to slip down. "Where should we go first..." she murmured to herself, tapping her full lips with a slim finger. "Tiffany's? You can't beat the classics... I'm Black Cat, by the way," she told the girl offhandedly, starting off toward the nearest store. This was going to be fun; almost therapeutic. "Professional acquirer of the forbidden," she added with another of her impish smiles.

Rosie gently slid off and looked around a moment. She adjusted her sapphire necklace to make sure it was still holding up nicely, then looked back up at Black Cat with a smile. "I'm Rosie. Professional....um...." she replied, then paused a moment to think. She looked down at the groun a moment and put a finger to her mouth puzzledly. She felt like she should add a title to her name too, but she hadn't been alive long enought to really do anything. She could copy herself, what would that be called? "...copy maker?" she finished in a questionable tone, like she really wasn't sure.

Black Cat's smile widened. "Nice to meet you, Rosie," she said sincerely, and then she turned to the door and began cutting through the glass with a laser cutter. Within two minutes, the door was open, the alarm was disabled, and she had begun to browse.

Rosie smiled back at her, glad that her title must not have sounded silly. She waited for Black cat to open the door, then followed her in still smiling. Her smile widened a bit as she seen all of the glittering jewels inside and made her way towards them for a closer look.

Black Cat walked back over to Rosie, a glittering diamond hair clip in her hand. Very carefully, she pulled back a section of the girl's bright red hair with the clip. "Take whatever strikes your fancy, by the way," she said, going back to the cases, "Every girl should have at least three pieces of diamond jewelry by the time they're twelve. Why not get a head start?"

Rosie felt something to through her hair, and waited for it to stop before truning towards Black Cat a moment. She reached up to touch the clip a moment, then smiled happily at her. She turned towards the jewels she was in front of and her smile grew. She made her way to a place where she could easily get to the treasures and began looking through them. There were just so many... Pearls...rubies...diamonds...emeralds...sapphires...amath-ama-am..pretty purple stones...and ooh. Pretty stone that was purple, green, and blue. Tag said Mystic Fire Topaz...it sounded as pretty as it looked. After a few moments, she crawled out with a fair amount of new jewelry. Pearl necklace or two, diamond bracelets, rings on almost every finger, and since her ears weren't pierced, she pocketed them until she could wear them.

Finally, Black Cat walked back out of the store with the best diamonds in the place to sell... and a few pieces that she planned to keep. "Okay," she said, turning back to look at Rosie. She grinned at the sight of all that jewelry; the little girl looked like she was playing dress-up. "Where do you want to go next? Since everything is all connected like this, I can probably get you home."

Rosie glanced up at her and her smile fell a bit. She looked away a moment and tried to think. They could go somewhere else. Clothes, toys....but it would be nice to go home. Unfortunatly she still didn't know where that was. "Actually...I'm a little lost." she replied.

Black Cat thought about this. "Well, it's up to you. I'd be happy with finding a nice, empty apartment and getting some sleep, but we could swing around until you see something that looks familiar."

Rosie thought for a moment. She had been looking for quite a while...and honestly she was tired. She'd been running around all day. Finally she looked back up at her with a small smile. "I've been looking around a lot already...i'm kinda tired, a bed sounds good. Could I stay with you for a while? Please?" she replied.

Black Cat smiled reflexively. So much for not liking kids. "Sure you can. With everything that's been going on, if I left a little kid on the street wearing pounds of jewels..." She shook her head, then scooped the little girl up and swung of in search of a decent apartment. That was one downside to having company; she couldn't just go home.

In the shadows outside of the store, the man was waiting. He watched as she swung away, then stepped back into the darkness of the alley. How he had gotten there wasn't clear.
