Laura hit the 6 ball, missing the pocket as she expected, but it stopped just short of it in perfect position. She grabbed her cup and took another sip of caf. Putting it down, she shook Gairus's hand when he approached. " Laura, ship's cook, but you probably know that much already. " she said.

" Sure. " Laura said, knocking the 6 ball into the pocket. She then stepped back a bit, letting Gairus have a go. " Don't worry about the Cap'n. Jag's an easy guy to get along with, once you get to know him. I've been with him a few years and he's usually easy-going. I'm guessing he's just still ticked off about the last crew. I can't blame him though. That Tupilev is a snake if you ask me. "

" Short version is that Tupilev bought off the old crew except for myself and Kalin. He's got some grudge against Cap'n Jag over some petty business or something. That's why we're here trying to recruit more. " Laura said, watching Gairus as he lined up his shot. " I'll let the Cap'n explain the finer details himself, but I wouldn't pressure him about if I were you. Probably best to just let it pass and move on. "

" Damn Corellians and their luck... " Laura said jokingly. " I stayed because Cap'n Jag's a good man. I've had a... history... with some less than reputable people in a cantina I worked in before I wound up aboard the Ruusan. Turned out my boss was a criminal mastermind, and the cantina was just a front. They eventually got busted by the Imps and I was out of a job. I signed on as the cook here and Jag's been very good to me. I'd like to think we're very good friends through all the time we've been together. As for Kalin, he's a good guy too. " She paused for a moment, her expression switching to slight frustration.

" When that sithspawn Tupilev pulled his little cheapshot stunt, I decided I'd rather stick with someone I knew I could trust instead of working with a bunch of morons whose loyalty good be bought by some rich boy with no sense of morality. " Laura's tone was a clear indication of how she felt about the incident. After another brief paused, she continued in her normal tone. " Kalin pretty much agreed. A shame that we're the only ones though. Those were some good people, minus a few personal... incidents... during off hours, but that's another story for another day. "

"Tough break for you guys" Gairus said, lining up another shot. His target was now the "4" ball that was lined up against the middle pocket. "If it makes you feel any better, I like this place okay." Gairus said, smirking as he said it.

Tabula's stomach grumbled painfully as she sat before a grate leading to the main hangar of the ship. She still couldnt belive she slept so long that the ship actually took off with her still in the underbelly.
"Oh Banthy what am I going to do?" She asked to her toy, "If I stay here I starve, but if I go out...I dont know what to do." She looked out the grate again and her stomach growled again while she winced in pain. Her biggest worry was the Akk dog that was kept in the hangar, who knows what would happen if that beast found her. She looked around for the dog and found that it was asleep, 'Now's my chance.' she thought and pushed the grate away and carefully set it down on the ground so it wouldnt make a sound as she crawled out into the hangar.

'Now what?' she thought as she looked around the hangar and found a turbolift.
'Perfect.' she thought and took it to the main deck, as soon as the doors opened Tabula scurried out to find a hiding place.

The first hiding place Tabula came upon proved to be no safety whatsoever.
There came a threatening hiss and a sound akin to a shaking rattle from the dark recesses of the ship upon her aproach, all the indicators that something was telling her she was not welcome.
