As soon as she looked around her, mind wandering to more exciting activities, Orika realized she was currently sitting inside an academy classroom. No, she wasn't losing her mind! Her eyes ran over scrolls of shinobi wisdom plastered on the wall, their corners peeling slightly from constant usage. A closet to her far right held weapons of all sorts and probably also included equipment she had never seen before. The place had been built to prepare young men and women into shinobi, so why shouldn't they also accomplish that objective through this puzzle? Orika looked at the puzzle again, this time in a new light. What were they trying to teach her? Aha! She wasn't supposed to know what the puzzle looked like; The blotches of colors didn't form anything separately, but together they probably made a very pretty picture. The senseis were testing her resourcefulness and determination to finish the darn thing. Orika now knew she had to use different methods of solving the puzzle besides relying on copying a picture. This was gonna be interesting. She never knew there would be so much hidden knowledge embedded in one game.

Karite stood up slowly. His toes touched the cold floor as he looked around. while this was a school for young shinobi which was what Karite was aspiring to be. It was still a school, which meant four walls. Karite grew up trapped in four walls. Why would he wish to stay in them. "Orika, I cant stay here today. If you want to train later on I will be in the bamboo forest. I spend a lot of time there for some reason." Walking to the door Karite's bare feet barely made a sound. As he got to the door he turned and clicked his jaw. Kore seemed to be accustom to this sound already. As Kore shot up Karite put his hands in his pockets shaking his head to make sure his Kunai earring was still there before walking out the door.

Kore was in a peaceful state for a moment till he heard the words Bamboo forest. That meant many things would happen. Food, fighting, fun and dirt. When it came to that forest they always found someway to destroy the world and everything in it seemed. the cub would never forget how Karite fell out the tree and scared away there prey. As Karite walked away Kore waited for the clicking sound that sound followed. Popping up almost instantly Kore trotted up next to Karite making up for his silent footsteps with his own claws.

The academy already seemed so empty; The other two guys might as well have stayed home for all the entertainment they provided. Orika stopped bouncing in her chair when Karite announced his leaving, her lips slightly parted. "Oh...," she answered him in a sad tone with her cheekbones momentarily drooping, "Ah, okay. Yeah, I'll meet you there later!" The girl waved a goodbye, noticing the sort of lost expression in Karite's eyes. The boy really was wild in that he followed his instincts everywhere. He went into the forest not because there were plenty of obstacles to train with, but because it just felt right to him. She wished she could make up her mind as easily. There were so many things Orika had left to try so she hadn't found her niche yet. She wasn't fit to be a housewife, but was she ready to become a cold-blooded shinobi? Darn, life was really confusing...

Red, green, yellow, blue, aqua. Eh, yellow, red, blue, green... No, maybe it was- This was pointless. Orika chewed her thumb, feeling a heat rise inside her from constantly losing out to this puzzle. She had all the materials she needed, now all she had left was to put the pieces together, literally. But, every piece she tried to cram together reflected the other like magnets pressed together by similar poles. They always looked like they would fit (actually, every piece looked about the same), but when put to the test no part would agree to cooperate with her. She was like a medicine man trying to blend together precisely the right herbs for a rare condition from memory. If she didn't have color or size or shape to go by, what else was there? Just random shifting and guessing until she made a puzzle that resembled something?! Orika sighed deeply, wondering if she chose to do something way over her head. Wait, how could a darn jigsaw puzzle be too much for her to handle? Gah!

As soon as Karite left, the atmosphere became more... watery, like the smell at a hospital. Orika hated the clinic, not only because she had less than ideal memories there, but also due to the fact that the girl was always healthy and never had much more than the sniffles. Orika rocked in her chair, her finger mindlessly swirling the puzzle pieces around. It was still early, but she felt there should be more students showing up. Unless some freak accident happened and everyone was hospitalized! Ha, yeah right, the other kids probably slept in like that white-haired boy over there was about to do again. She had been so excited to come to school early and get extra training done, but Orika never realized just how boring learning was when you did it all by yourself. She slumped on the desk, ready to take a nap herself, her motivation level dropping by the minute. Who needed a stupid puzzle?

Her brain hurting, Orika decided to take a break. She hadn't done a lot of studying in her life, but it was common sense that the brain didn't work very well when it was tried, just like an exhausted body made a bunch of mistakes in training. If she alternated between the two, she'd get the most out of a day and it'd be more fun too. Orika hopped out of her chair, waved goodbye to Snowflake and Blondie-san, and scooted out without another thought. She made sure to steer clear of the pathway since embarrassingly enough, the girl had forgotten the exact place where she planted her trap. It wasn't like she could place a marker marked 'TRAP HERE' to remind her of its location! She'd just have to pay more attention to detail next time. Orika inhaled a breath of the crisp air and with a wide grin, made her way to the bamboo forest. She wondered what kind of training Karite and Kore were planning or what she'd do once she got there.

Huh...

Well, it seemed the students completely disregarded him! Annoyed, Udo stood and wrote the location of 'class' on the chalkboard. It was time these runts got to know more than just pummeling each other. And why not torture them in the best place to train physically? With a small smirk and an almost devilish smile, Udo walked out of the classroom with book in hand and headed towards the bamboo forest. To the students that were left, he motioned for them to follow.

Twilight time: Realizing how late it had become Akiko decided she would finish her hair later; it would save her the trouble of accidently dozing off.

Akiko slowly made her way back to the academy it didn’t feel like she had gotten much sleep last night but she got enough to get by for the rest of the day. With a sigh she found her seat and supplies from yesterday and decided to pick up were she left off, she decided she was going to finish this today no matter what.

After picking up the black decorative comb from the desk, the white haired girl manipulated her hair back into the high ponytail similar to yesterdays; but this time she used a brush as well to make sure a few rebellious strains knew their place. Once the lump free silken hair was restrained by the white fuzzy scrunchy Akiko began to look at her surroundings as she attempted to recall what she had planned to do. It was then that she noticed the board “Crap...I hope I’m not late…I thought it was weird that a teacher wasn’t her.” Sighing Akiko stood up and collected all the things she would need for her hair and placed them in some of her various pockets inside her trench. Once she was sure she had everything she left the academy.

His eyes squinted as Orika poked at his head, and he began to wonder if it would be alright the beat down one of the 1 years...maybe with proof of annoyance. He just stared ahead and ignored her till she went back to her puzzle by herself. he smiled to himself with every moment of difficulty she encounter. Still it was pretty plain in the class room now, and Sorri had calmed himself a lot and was ready to take this little class on just as he used to do. Oh and what as this, movement coming from book worm dude. He wrote the class location then mozzied on away. With a shrug Sorri rossand began on the wal there but froze in thought when he got to the do...he would make a small stop first.

He did a quick search around the room for some leaflet and writing material and made a small letter before walking to the village

"Shh... Quiet. Damn little brat... Will you stop already? I said shut up!" The child flailing and crying her lungs out in his arms ignored Shinichi's pleas. He tried again, this time in a voice that wouldn't scare away tigers, " "Grow up. You can almost walk by yourself, for goodness sakes. Big girls don't cry." She continued to thrash about, banging her tiny fists on his arm as her tiny green monkey hooded head bobbed up and down. Shinichi gritted his teeth when an elderly couple stopped their morning walk to gape at him as if he were kidnapping the girl. Well, that was the the truth. The ANBU flicked his head to shoo them away and held Orochi Ayumi out at arm's length, which only resulted in more one worded screams. "MAMA, MAMA, MAMA!!!" the one year cried. Putting on a frowny face, Shinichi bounced the girl in his arms until she had to take a breath and break from crying, of which he took advantage of to explain (again) why her mama was stupid. "Yuki can't take care of herself right now, much less you. Yuki. Your mother. Yes, mama. Mama Yuki. Maaama." The girl looked at him with shimmering golden, snake-slitted eyes, quiet for the first time since he took her from the clinic, out of a clinically depressed Tenmoki Yuki's hands. The woman looked as if she was about to eat him and barf up the pieces for declaring her husband a traitor.

Shinichi hugged Ayumi to his warm chest as he trudged into the academy, leaving snowy footprints at the threshold. He tugged harshly at the bell until a rapid, muddled series of tones reverberated throughout Shimagakure. "You're lucky we don't treat the family of traitors the same anymore," he muttered, leaning over to blow a few fireballs into an ice cold hearth. Ayumi began crying again, as if she saw the gruesome images in his mind. Or, because fire scared small children. Shinichi dumped the half Orochi onto a mat and shoved the ripped off head of the training dummy into her hands. Not surprisingly, this set off so much wailing that the ANBU swore the windows were going to break. He took the girl into his lap, grabbed a scroll, and began reading, "Water Country Politics and International Relations. Yamamoto Ukitake began his rule by consolidating..."

Karite moved as fast as he could through the snow as he reached the slick steps of the academy. Not breathing to hard since he was sue to moving so quickly. He climbed the steps carefully and walked inside his bare feet and body feeling the immediate warmth of the building. Sighing with complete satisfaction of his new found heat Karite walked into the academy only to hear whining of a child. "That's strange to hear so close to class time." Walking in deeper to the source of the sound Karite saw a man who looked like he belonged in a war fighting impossible odds and a child in his arms. wondering what was wrong with this picture in so many ways Karite spoke up. "Excuse me, do you know if this is the classroom for today?"

"Do you see another sensei anywhere?" Shinichi snapped over the baby's whimpers. He set the scroll down and turned to face the barefooted boy, his eyes narrowing at the kid's stupidity. The boy looked new and probably was raised in a warm climate. A few days walking in the life-draining snow should change his mind about neglecting his health. With a sigh and deep breath, Shinichi touched his brow and tried again, "Yes, everyone's meeting here. My name is Harada Shinichi, an ANBU. Those with that rank undertake very dangerous missions, such as-" Just then he heard a rip as Ayumi tore the boring, hated scroll. Shinichi growled and snatched the scroll away, whacking her lightly on the back of the head with it. "And this loudmouth is Orochi Ayumi, daughter of Tenmoki Yuki and Orochi Sachiriku. She's in forced custody until her mom stops whining and acts older than her kid. Do you have any siblings, boy?" he asked roughly and between shrieks, motioning for the green-topped kid to do something about the infant, his own patience skating over thin ice. Still, he couldn't trust an Orochi to the villager's hands, especially not after seeing the death stare some of them gave Shisei last night.

Karite thought this guy must have been dropped as a kid cause he was crazy. Then again everyone was. "The name is Karite. Guy. Just Karite. I may be a boy but I have a name. No, I don't have any siblings and I don't have a family before you ask." In Karite's grey dead eyes you could see that being called boy bothered him to an extent. He earned his respect just like anyone else and deserved it. "And why is Misses Yuki's upset? Is it because the Kage died? I missed a lot yesterday because I was sleep." Karite saw no reason to lie. This guy was no scary then Maya or Misses Yuki.
PostPosted: Mon Sep 29, 2008 12:43 am

The ANBU finally quieted the hysterical baby by offering her a rubber kunai, to which Ayumi wasted no time in sinking her teeth into the grey material. He sighed, not sure whether to be proud or concerned about a one year old who instinctively went for a deadly weapon. The kunai was too big to swallow anyway. Shinichi glanced at the stranger who was basically insisting that he be called a man at the age of... 12? His forest eyes twinkled at the tough kid, without a loving family and out to prove his strength to the world. Boys needed families. Anyone who grew up orphaned couldn't be considered a mere boy, but they weren't men either. Not yet. And that expression in his ashen eyes, trying so hard to hide the fact that he was young and inexperienced. Karite looked like he could take on an entire army... until the first arrow pierced his skull. Shinichi smiled inside. Finally there was some kid who didn't grow up pampered by their clan and whining whenever asked to endure real shinobi training. Shinichi tucked a loose bandage back into place, then cursed when he realized that he still wore the bloodied, armorless ANBU uniform, having been too busy to change. The kid didn't seem too bothered by his appearance, though. He lifted an ear to the boy's questions while watching Ayumi out of the corner of one eye. "No," Shinichi gruffly replied, "Or at least that's not all. I told you the husband's name. Figure it out yourself." If he knew the news concerning Ichi-sama, Karite must have heard about the war. Anybody with a grain of brain could deduce the reasons from there.

"I have been here for three days, so these names mean nothing to me." Karite was correct in the fact in his short time on Shima he had not exactly meet to many people of the island. While turning meetings into rivalry's and school yard tussles was easier. Meeting lasting companions like Kore was not. "But, leaving it at that is fine. I am here and on time so whats the first task on the agenda." Karite did not feel like wasting time on people who were to lazy to show up to class. He was a kind person but he had things he had to accomplish. Standing here waiting for the world was not going to get them done.
