WE NEED CHOCOBOS!!!joking... well... mostly sweatdrop There was a point in time in my youth when I was considering a career in genetics, solely for the purpose of perverting God's great natural order by trying to create a real life Chocobo. I figured if I could genetically combine a Chicken, and Emu, and somehow get a hold of some dinosaur DNA, it would be a snap and I would score a victory for geekdom everywhere. Ah, the dreams of youth. Anywho, as a compromise for my lost and abandoned dream, I wouldn't have objections for including a riding bird in the D&D world (assuming Fenrir's approval, since its a non-greyhawk critter, and assuming somebody could create reasonable stats for it.)

I think there are Chocobos in DnD, I think they were called sword beaks. o0. I think it's in the first ed monster manuals, or was it 2nd Ed Red Steel Campaign... hrmm... I don't remember.

If finrir lets me I will write stats for anything ^.^ and swordbeaks? yeah if any one can get info for that, it would be awesome.
off topic... well kind of, who here can name the 5 official chocobo colors, there main powers, in order of most common to rarest?

YES! though it's not quite a chocobo, it hs smaller wings (a chocobo's are not completely useless) and it is carnivores, the only meat eating chocobo are the red once, though it fits the place for one ^.^ Now taming one... hmmm....

Er, Yellow, Blue, Red, Black, Gold? I think Blue walked on water, Red over mountains, Black did both, and Gold was just Awesomeness. I played FFXI online for about 3 years. They had Yellow, Blue, Red, Black and Green. There was no significant difference between the colors when I stopped playing the game.

This looks cool, but it's a medium sized creature, so probably can't be ridden by medium sized creatures. We to breed them bigger and more tame. The line "They are flighty creatures and are unpredictable when confronted with creatures that are not significantly smaller than themselves." makes me wonder what kind of animal handling check you'd have to make to tame one. We could tweak these stats to make something up.

So, we've got 99 members in this guild, but only about 6 of us talk frequently, anyone got brainstorming ideas as to how we can still up some of our quieter members?

some people join a guild and never use it, and some just join guilds to say there in them... if it gets to big, deleting anyone who has no post helps...
and the handle animal check would be based on the HD with maybe a +4

A good number of the people who don't speak were active in one of the guild's previous incarnations, whom I am not going to remove. They are more than welcome to come play with us if they ever decide to. Some of the others are people who have joined since it became a D&D guild; i'm not yet willing to clean that out, since it hasn't been very long.
The chocobo colors vary from game to game. What they do varies as well. Personally, let's go old school, to when they first came out. We have yellow, black, white, and fat chocobos. Yellow could only run in plains, black could go through forests as well, white restored your HP/MP but were not ridable, and fat stored items and were not ridable.
And that fantasy game isn't the one I was talking about, I was referring to San Pueblo, run by Master Strategist Kess.
Does anyone here play Maple Story?

Ah, I've seen San Pueblo. I was only referring to the fantasy game because there was some talk of VTM in the ooc chat. I played Maple Story, I played for awhile, then got bored. I've been looking at other games now, but I dunno, we'll see.

When I get a block of free time (which is rare) I'll go thru the member list, check players who's Gaga account has been active in the last month or so and send them an individual PM inviting them to check in.
Perhaps more offers of contests or exchanging ideas?
Could we start a Thread just for introductions?
I'd also like to start a thread for links to other websites with D&D info, if that's allowed under Gaia's rules to post links leading to outside the site.
