Vincent's extended wings begin to relax as his roar slowly dies and his head slowly falls to look down at the bare ground below his feet. The field is still scorched in places from his various fights, and even more so in the distance where he had been taken over by the Demonic sword and had revealed the dangerous Fallen Angel form. Breathing heavily, Vincent turns back to face Van. He steps forward slowly and places a hand on Van's shoulder; you can still feel the power, but his control makes it so the power no longer flows into you. "You needn't fear." Vincent says calmly, "Van, let me tell you a story: After the attack on my kingdom, I was left as the highest ranking man alive. Making me the new king. I did not disperse my men right away, as I have led some to believe. No, it would me near to two months before I would do that. Instead I continued to try and rebuild the capital. I sent messengers to advertise for free land in exchange for good workers. I wanted the Kingdom of the Emerald Hills to flourish once more. But it was obvious that something was not right. The people were not coming, and the moral of my men was dropping. We could easily survive for the rest of our lives with all we had. Money, homes, and enough food to last us through forty winters. But without a population to help sustain and protect, we had no purpose for living. And then we learned the truth. My brother, the one called Borus, was one of the survivors and my second in command. In order to reach the kingdom's capital one would have to pass through a narrow passage in the mountains near there. Borus was killing them as they came to us. Making sure that we would be unable to flourish while Kestral recovered from their immense losses. We caught him one day, myself and a few others from the Fist. He was slaughtering a helpless family as they attempted to come to the capital. We managed to save one of them, the youngest daughter. I was forced to fight Borus to accomplish this and I was gravely wounded before I was able to drive him off. He never came back to my knowledge, which was for the best." Vincent turns and swallows, as if what he's about to say is causing him immense emotional pain. He turns back to you, his face grim as his wings flex behind him, "I never survived the week...

Van could say nothing, his mind was reeling from the revelation. Is this even possible. True, he realized that he was only an apprentice and there were many mysteries of the living pneuma that he had yet to learn, but his inherent gnosis made him sensitive to that which was spirit. Vincent was unlike any spirit Van had encountered. His mind and emotions were bright and intense, most ghosts were pale reflections of the people they once were, even Vincent's touch felt solid, not cold.
Then...then you are spirit? How is this possible? To my gnosis you feel...alive. But, even as he asked, Van realized that this possibility went a long way to explaining the strange reactions his gnois had had to the warrior since day one. And if you are such, why the deception, and why have you chosen to linger here in this world? In this city?

"I am not a spirit. Nor am I alive. I am what is known as a Revenant. When I died, the anger and sadness I felt in life lingered on. Those negative feelings barred me from passing on to the spirit world. I was forced back as something akin to a fallen angel. But since I never passed on, I never truly died. I did not want anyone to know. We Revenant are not regarded in the best of lights. We are viewed as...tainted...impure...as close to evil as one can get without actually being so. The demonic sword saw those feelings in me and even though the training I had in life would have allowed me to resist it entirely...my taint gave it power...and allowed it to control me." Vincent looked over his shoulder at the sword that had brought him so much trouble. It was quiet...eerily so, it's eyes as black as the night sky above you. Vincent turns back to you and with eyes filled with pain and sadness he continues. "I do not linger out of choice...merely out of hate...pure, unbridled hate to the brother who destroyed everything I ever cared for and loved. I came here to Miyr...because of its nearly infamous level of danger and skirmishes. Only the strong survive here...and so I came to get stronger. So that I could kill him! So I could do to him what he did to me! So I could see him begging for mercy at my feet as I got revenge for the tens of thousands of people who died for his greed and lust for power!" Vincent's face is tight in a grimace of rage as another spark of power ripples accross his body. "But now..." He says as he seems to visably relax, "Now it seems that he's gotten the same idea as me. It's only a matter of time before he goes from the tournament and begins to make trouble for the fine people of Miyr...It's time to go home...I must find out what happened to my people...and reunite with my body. It's the only way."

I see.. Van pauses awkwardly. He had never heard of beings called revenants, it seems there were indeed many mysteries of life and death that he had yet to learn. What will happen to you if you accomplish a reunion between you and your corporeal form?
More importantly, if it helps to know this, He said mimicking Vincent’s hand on shoulder gesture. I do not believe you are evil. It is true the sorrow, loss, and rage you harbor, have established a foothold in your soul; it could destroy you if you let it. But, unlike a fallen angel, you are not forever damned, you still have a choice; you do not have to give in to this hate. I do not know exactly what your plan is. But, I agree that Borus Valentine must be made to answer for his crimes, but this should not be done out of lustful revenge. Surely as a holy warrior you must know this, justice can never be vengeful, just as hate can never love.
Van’s heart burned to tell him of his encounter with Iris, to lift his spirits him in some way. I encourage you to have hope, believe that things are not as dark as they seem. To look around you and see the friends that care about you, ... and strange foreigners that still look up to you; not for what you are, but for whom you are. Van added, blushing a bit at the vulnerability of his own confession.

Vincent was taken slightly off gaurd by Van's final comment. "Thank you for your support, Van. And to answer your question...when I am reunited with my body it will have one of two effects. Either it will succeed entirely, and I will combine the powers of both my coporeal and incorporeal forms. It will grant me a whole new level of power and hopefully it will be enough to defeat him." Vincent takes a deep breath and continues, "Or it will destroy me...body and soul. And it will take many people to defeat that man. So many will die...but many more will if he's not destroyed."

You risk everything, to save even those who are complete strangers to you. People such as you are who I look up to. Van retracted, his hand and cleared his throat nervously, hoping he had not just made an even bigger fool of himself in front of the warrior. You have shown me much kindnesses and patience, if there is any part in this plan that I may be of use, I would consider it an honor. Van again bows avoiding eye contact, still embarrassed.

Vincent looks at you seriously for a moment before nodding his head. "Just one: Come with me. And if I don't make it, promise me that you will defeat him."

Van finally looks up. He stares at you for a moment his face unreadable. But in your mind you feel his reply. I promise, even if it costs me my life.

"That is good to hear. Now...I must clear my thoughts." Vincent turns back to the hut and shouts into it, "Delgara! I must take a walk. Take care of Djanni till I return. I know you will." Turning back to you Vincent says more seriously, "It may still be some time before I am prepared to leave...but when I do I will contact you...but first..." Vincent walks forward and gently touches you in four points: sternum, right shoulder, stomach and finally left shoulder. A soft glow fills you, making you feel stronger and removing what pain you experienced when attempting to force your thoughts on Vincent. "You have been blessed, my child. I have given you the ultimate honor that a paladin can bestow: the Lay on Hands. You and I are now connected, if only minimally. This has two effects: one-we will now know where each other are at all times, regardless of the distance. And two-I think you will find your gnosis to be a little easier to use on me. No more bloody noses, hopefully." Vincent gives a wink as he finishes the last statement. He then turns and begins to walk off, his wings disappate into light, and the power around him disappates as well. Only after a few moments of walking do you loose him in the dense foliage.

Perrian walked into Vincent's Enclave with Isidar, both of them were holding hands. He went up to the door and knocked on the door. "Vincent, you home?" He shouted in, waiting for a reply. Perrian hoped that Vincent was home so he could introduce him to the girl he loved and introduce Isidar to his kinda crazy friend.

Vincent walked out from the line of trees, dirty but looking rather content. He sees you and smiles, but it quickly turns to a look of confusion as he sees the beautiful woman whom he is holding hands with. But just like Vincent, the look of confusion is quickly replaced with an even bigger smile. "Perrian! You lady's man, you!" Vincent says in a jovial tone, "Who might this gorgeous, young woman be?" Vincent says as he bows low to the young woman in respect.

"Vincent, this is a friend I have know from since I was a kid, and she is now my girlfriend. This is Isidar. We first met near my old home and spent a lot of time together. Little did I know, after I ran away, she came to look for me not too long after. Finally, today, we are reunited." Perrian said and smiled. "Yes, she knew me way back when, very long ago. How, exactly, long ago did we meet?" He asked Isidar and smiled.

"The pleasure is all mine." Vincent says with his customary smile, but the smile quickly dissapates, "Perrian, I have to show you something serious. It's Djanni." Not waiting for your reaction he walks into his hut, leaving the door open behind you. Peering through the portal and into his simple, one room hut you see the still, unmoving form of Djanni laying on the bed inside. Vincent is standing next to the bed, with Delgara the lizard man sitting in the chair just behind him. Vincent looks up to you all, "I hate to put the damper on your reunion, but I thought you would want to know. Delgara brought her in earlier. I can't seem to wake her...my limited healing has removed her physical wounds...but something else seems to keep her in her slumber...I don't know what. I don't know what to do..."

Perrian nods and walks over to Djanni, with Isidar by his side if she walks with him or just walks alone if she doesn't. "Oh my- do we have any knowledge of what might have put her into this state?" Perrian said and brought out his staff, releasing Isidar's hand if he still had a grip of it if she followed him. "Do you think any of my powers might work to help wake her, or do you think she's past my help?" He asked Vincent.
