[[Pools of Doom > Shadow Chateau > Pools of Doom]]
Isi, at first had been irritated that he wasn't able to send the doctor splashing into the shivering water, but when he realized that other people didn't get it off the bat too, then he felt better. For a while, there was a pessimistic voice that was tickling his ear, blaming it on his...Well, now Isi knew that it wasn't the case. With the gathering crowd, Isi began to feel a little nervous, standing off to the side while the ranks around the pools thickened and swelled. Eventually, when he had been standing near to Natsuki, sulking, he had been cut off from her by a wall of other people and raevans. Oh well, he didn't need to be there. He had given it his best shot and perhaps he'd return when it was alright for him to try again. For now...Well, he had to go investigate the window he had cracked and tell Aphi what he had done. Slowing slipping away from the crowd, happy that all their attention was focused on the sea-farthy doctor, Isi reteated into the house.
As he passed through the doorway, and rounded the corner to the area of the home now labeled as the Shadow Chateau, Isi found himself face to face with the dead grinning mask of the Red Death himself, framed in a rotting tattered wreath of 'blood stained' cloth.
Eiry, disguised by the costume (and now very happy that he had not let Isi see the costume in its entirety earlier), couldn't help himself but grin a wide mischievous Cheshire smile. He had seen the door creak open and heard the familiar four sets of 'footsteps' of his guardian. Without thinking, Eiry stretched his throat in the most hideous growl he could manage and he whipped round the corner, arms hanging high and fingers twitching grotesquely like squashed spiders. "RAAAUGH!!" he howled and with the push of his ethereal wings, he passed through Isi like a ghost and vanished into the throngs of the backyard.
With only 0.3 seconds to think, Isi hardly had the time to breathe in before he felt his face contort into a gasp of terror and he released a dreadful cry of startled fright. "AAGH!" He felt his hands slip forward and out of his forearm grips and before he knew what had happened or who had scared him, Isi was back-flat on the floor. His breaths came in and out like waves and he reached up to feel his forehead, as if trying to scramble everything into sense. It only took him 3 seconds to realize who had pulled the trick.
"Eirdirsceol!" he growled in a half-shout, still crumpled on the floor. This was the fourth time since Alex's Halloween present that Eiry had scared him like this and Isi couldn't help but feel embarrassed, having fallen to the same trick for the fourth time in a row.
Cackling contently to himself, Eiry called back in a sing-song voice (which was very creepy and made a snakelike shiver crawl up Isi's spine), "Aphi wanted to know where you were! He's on the couch!" What fun! He thought, it was executed marvelously! Eiry hadn't seen the pupil of Isi's eyes widen so fast before!
A guilty gut feeling tensed up in Isi's stomach as he tried to regain his composure. Had Aphi found out about the cracked window before he got the chance to tell him? Isi hoped he didn't, because if so, then the young boy would have no way to rectify himself if he did. As he thought about this, Isi realized how much he was shaking and he scowled in embarrassment.

Like any other girl on the planet, Sia had ended up fussing over her appearance for the better part of three hours throughout the day. Millions of costume possibilities had raced through her head - everything from mummies to cat-girls, but after doing a little digging at the back of her closet, she had finally settled on something she figured could give a lasting impression. After finally getting her hair to cooperate after getting the extensions put in just for the occasion, she was finally ready to get this show on the road. The faint click, click, click of heels on concrete signaled her approach, the boots on her feet nearly invisible behind the garment she was adorning. The buckles of the various belts jingled quietly as she strode forth, and soon her destination was in sight. Pausing for a moment, she glanced down at herself - just to ensure everything was in its place.
The black dress held a gaping hole in the front, cut mere inches below the waistline and leaving the entire front of the dress wide open, though it was carefully replaced with belts woven together in a unique sort of look. It was trimmed with a peculiar lace pattern of flowers and feather in various colors, but the dress itself was a dark, sooty gray. The torso region seemed to be more corset-like, amplifying Sia's bust which was half-exposed to the night air. Long bell-sleeves draped off her shoulders, each adorning a pair of crossing belts at the elbow, kept fairly tight to ensure the sleeves didn't slip. Along the top of both the sleeves and the corset was a large, thick lining of faux fur in a tan coloration, gently quivering in the soft breeze.
About her throat rested three strands of beads. The shortest looked to be off-white pearls, shimmering gently in the light. Following that was a strand of red and black stripe-pattern beads. And finally was a golden chain with blue bead discs every half-inch along the way. Moving along, her bangs were pushed to the left side of her face, loosely curled with a few strands hanging off to the opposite side to help frame her face. The rest was braided back like cornrows and then wrapped into a bun atop her head, and secured with two chopstick-like hairpins from which more glittering beads dangled. And from the bun, seven extra-long braids dangled behind her.
To complete her ensemble, a plush doll was hugged gently to her hip. It was the size of a teddy bear, but looked more like a cross between a pig and a cat, with small little ears and a large, flat nose a shade darker than the cream cloth that made the majority of the doll. Small, purple wings sprouted from it's back, shaped like a demon's wing, and a wire stuck out of his head, atop of which a big red ball bounced effortlessly. It had stitched X's for eyes, and had a few threads sticking out here and there along the seams.
If you hadn't gathered by now, she was dressed as the black mage Lulu of the Final Fantasy series; tenth volume.
Stepping carefully up to the entrance, she glanced around, but seemed to find herself alone, and so she didn't hesitate to simply head inside. The entire room seemed to be bathed in a black light, catching the white hairs in the fur of her gown, as well as in the trim, but otherwise it seemed her costume was a touch too dark to really have any effect in the room. Off to one side, a mat with colored dots lingered and nearby was a spinner; an obvious game of Twister - but that didn't seem to interest our little Lulu. Sia's eyes drifted past a board with something scribbled upon it and right over the little setup for Gweezilla.
Heading along, she passed through and open doorway and glanced to her left. Various counter space was piled with sweet confections of all kinds and there was another portion which seemed to hold punch bowls and cups stacked upon themselves. She would make a note to come back and get something to munch on later, but the sound of music in the room around the corner was calling to her as she slowly rounded the wall and found herself facing a hardwood floor of an enormous dining area. The entire room was cast under black lights; causing the peculiarly-painted floor to light up in a way that almost made Sia's eyes hurt to look at.
There were drapes of various colors hung about the walls, balloons against the ceiling, jostling gently with the beat of the bass, and streamers seemed to be all over the place. Hell, there were even a couple strobe-style lights casting little patterns on the floor, constantly moving - making the dance floor an absolute nightmare to anyone who might suffer from epileptic seizures! In other words, Sia was already in love with it. There were very few people out dancing, but she figured the trio that was there would be a good place to start getting to know people. And so, pasting a grin on her lips, she made her way over toward Namini, Josh, and Zanen.

[[Pools of Doom // Pools of Doom]]
Despite it being chilly out there, Tsu was now sweating buckets. Roux had been WAY too close to hitting the target for his comfort. Not to mention that the line had been way long of customers trying to dunk him. He couldn't tell if he was disliked this much... or were they just trying to dunk the good doctors in general.
Next was... KYOU?! Wait... wasn't Kyou the whole reason he was up here in the first place?!? What's going on here?? Still, a perfectly good time to heckle him.
"Are you sure you can manage to hit the target?" Tsu chuckled "It's a miracle you can move under all that equipment in the first place."
Turning to Natsuki, who brought the spoils of his wager, Tsu grinned. "Aye. Ye have permission to board me dinghy. Jes' stay off me plank." Tsu said with his pirish charm "Wouldn't want a lovely lass being sent to Davy Jones' locker too early." Tsu imagined on a boat, the ladder where Natsuki was standing would have to be the poop deck. There wasn't much else he remembered about a ship after all.
Zave looked down and realized he wasn't really dressed like anything except himself. "Will I be kicked out? Tsu didn't tell me where we were going, just dragged me along." For once he looked a little worried. This was a place he could meet some of the other raevans for the first time. Not to mention he wanted to get to know Lazarus a little more.
Looking around at the backyard, Zave mused a bit. "It looked like fun trying to dunk Tsu. I'm sure you'd want to try again... but I don't know if I should." He pondered aloud. "I haven't really checked out anything else. What do you suggest?" He looked at the other raevan, partly to hear wisdom from someone else, but also out of a curiosity to find out what the other was interested in.

A hearty chuckle rattled her shoulders, causing Natsuki to brace herself so as not to slip and fall off the ladder. The heavy fringe shaded her eyes, but couldn't hide the flush pinking her cheeks. It was far more difficult to conceal her girlish charm at close range, especially with the healthy doses of innuendo and Pirish that Tsu was serving up in heaping doses.
"Aye! Aye! Wouldn't want to be going overboard in this get up. That's for certain," Natsuki giggled, pulling the warmed flask from her tank top. Sitting atop the ladder, she leaned over his shoulder. A slender, fingerless gloved hand held the flask out at the pirate's eye level, making sure that it wasn't in front of the one with the eye patch. "Sir, I bring you the finest rum in all of Gambino. I took the liberty of warming it up for you," Natsuki said discretely, biting her lip a little nervously. Hopefully, Kyou wouldn't get mad at her liquoring his brother up while he was supposed to be "working."

Kyou was smart to stand a small distance away from Roux when it was his turn to dunk. As judging from the icey Raevan's ego, some dramatic temperature changes are bound to happen. And he was right. Though Kyou was about 2 metres away from Roux, he could still feel the chill Roux made as he left the front lines. Kyou hugged his arms as he walked right into the invisible cloud of cold air. But thankfully the temperature is swiftly returning to normal.
"Don't worry about me, worry about yourself first. If none of us hit you soon, you might be sitting up there all night." Kyou chuckled. "So how's the condition up there, are you warming up to the seat yet?" he laughed gleefully. Rubbing the ball to warm up his hands a little, he looked at Tsu playfully for a little before focusing on the target. Steadying himself on the ground with his legs, he pitched the ball the best he could.
"Hahaha!" Lazarus chuckled amusedly. "If Kyou or Natsuki haven't kicked you out yet, just chill and hang around." he said, feeling a little bit more relaxed. He looked at the empty line behind Kyou, it does look very tempting to give it a go again. But he probably want to heal his wounded pride for now.
"I'm sure you're not interested with the food in the kitchen." Lazarus said, "So maybe we could check out that odd 'Contortionist' game in the living room." he suggested, purely out of curiosity.

Tsu gratefully took the silver flask from Natsuki and took a swig of the warm liquid. "Ye be an odd siren." Tsu said with his grin, "Ye be sayin' sweet words to me. Yet you haven't lured me to doom." It wasn't meant to be mean, in fact at this rate Tsu could fall... and wouldn't really mind because he had good company.
Turning his attention back to the opponent at hand Tsu smirked. "Now I have me rum, I'm proper and ready." Tsu laughed back. "It jes' show that my skills are more than what little luck ye may have."
The first ball hit the bottom part of the tank. Tsu flinched a little... but the liquor was running it's course ever so slowly. "Even if I sit 'ere all night, I'll still be warm. I got me a lass... and some rum. Yo ho ho."
Zave looked first toward the kitchen, then towards the path to the living room. Lazarus really did have a point. Even if he looked at food, it's not like he needed to eat. Just go out in the next storm, and boom. Full.
"Yes, let's go check out that Contortionist game." Zave decided. If Laz said that it was okay without a costume, then Zave shouldn't worry. Besides, it was just one more thing that Tsu failed to do for him. "If there's time, maybe we can try to dunk Tsu one time at least." As he said that, he began to inch towards the path to the living room.

"I'm not so keen on the dragging sailors to their demise," Natsuki smiled, turning away from him slightly, and making herself comfortable on the ladder. Feeling a chill in the air from Roux, she rubbed her arms, trying to keep herself warm. If the night kept dropping in temperature, she'd need to get her jacket out of her car or spend the night indoors. However, she liked being perched by Tsu's side, on the safe, non-collapsible portion of the game. Goose bumps popped up despite her best efforts. "I'm more of the roll around on the wet sand and watch the sunset with a nice bottle of rum variety. The sort with dangerous curves, but genuine, tender words."
Looking up at the sky, she took a chance to appreciate the stars. Hopefully, she'd find a star to wish upon. It was a clear and beautiful night. The cafe manager played with her braid as she looked into the water. "How be the waters, Doc?" Her smile softened at his mention of having a lass and some rum, looks like she'd be there a while, for who was she to jump ship when she was having so much fun?

"Hey! Drinking on duty is not allowed!!" Kyou shouted his complain so Natsuki could hear it too. "If he could drink up there, then I want to eat cake when it's my turn next!" though it's childish complains, but Kyou just couldn't help but pouted.
Collecting his acts together, he picked up another ball for his next pitch. "Just you see, I'll get you down from there." licking his upper lip, Kyou threw back his shoulders for another power pitch...
When Zave made a move, Lazarus was still lingering at his spot, split between wanting to stay back and give it another shot, and leaving to relax a little. "You're sure you don't want to try a shot at Tsu, your guardian?" Lazarus chased up to Zave as he spoke. "There's just Sevilin behind Kyou in the line. I wouldn't be surprised if Kyou keep dunking Tsu if no one line up for it."

"Someone is in his element," Alex remarked dryly as she watched Eiry float through the walls, trailed by mischevious cackling. "Hey, Isi, you hangin' in there?" The woman in red walked over towards the boy, offering a hand, her other one still supporting Munchies on her chest. She didn't think her motion was insulting, as she would have at least offered hand to anyone else if knocked over; it's not like she was trying to pick him up herself, despite the fact that she likely could. Her lips were curved into a warm smile, unable to stop from complimenting the boy for his costume, "You look fantastic, sir. Quite spot on." Being Italian herself, she felt she had some say in such matters!
Alex tilted her head to the side, eyeing the youth thoughtfully. "Say Isi, where's that brother of yours? I haven't seen any of you for a while, thought it'd be nice to say Hi, since this is kinda your house and all." She grinned playfully, wondering what Aphismet would dress as. Would he find a costume that was timid, something he could hide behind? Or would his more assured nature show in something more open and fun? Somehow, she wasn't quite surprised by Isi's costume, and found it suiting; in fact, in some way or another, everyone seemed dressed in a way suited for their inner most personality. Her grin faded into a wry smile, considering all the familiar faces she'd seen thus far. How quaint.

With a distant splashing sound, the last softball Kyou threw missed by a mile from the target, and probably landed somewhere in the marshes beyond the backyard. Obviously he was swinging too hard, not only that, he couldn't believe that it went in a totally different direction. He obviously lost every inch of confidence in that last pitch, and just felt like digging a hole somewhere and hide in it. Blushing from ear to ear for his embarassing move, he tentatively picked up another ball again. At least there are still plenty of balls for people to throw.
Due to the last throw, Kyou don't dare to be too flashy with his moves anymore. So instead he'll just throw the ball, see where his luck brings it, and get it over with. Not even speaking with Tsu anymore, he just raised his arm a little and threw the ball at the target. His focus was obviously not very concentrated right now, so it's all up to lady luck...

Ah yes, it was good to be inside again since it’d gotten so cold outside. And besides, large crowds weren’t really for her, but she knew they were inevitable. Ebony rubbed at her arms some more as goosebumps had developed and the catgirl wondered what there was to drink that’d warm her up more. A certain tinge of pinkish green caught in the corner of her eye, a young Gwee came into view sort of hovering and sniffing about the kitchen. With all the powers of deduction that she possessed, ”Well aren’t you just the cutest little thing. Looking for something deary? Maybe something to eat?”

Niksia enjoyed the quick throws of the cat woman, whose name was one of many she hadn't yet picked up, it took nerve to play this strange game. Her staff swung back and forth in little arcs as she waited her turn.
Roux, she thought she heard that name in amongst all the calls and comments, was nearly lethal in his throws. Niksia mentally listed him as someone to tread carefully around if she got a chance to meet him properly. He was also dressed as an Angel! A rather silvery Angel with proper wings, so she felt a little pang of jealousy at how good he looked.
Then the other doctor, Kyou. It was funny to see one brother try to dunk the other and the fact that one was doing a bit of drinking on the job.
Most of the throws had been off the mark, including the possible window breaking one, except for that blindingly close one of Roux's. Niksia really didn't place herself at doing any better, and more likely to cause damage to the surrounding area than the target.
She, along with everyone else, waited to see how Kyou's last throw would do.
'Go get him, it's only fair.'

Zanen was awkwardly swaying to the beat of the music, when another person slipped in. The newcomer seemed to be cosplaying as Lulu from Final Fantasy X--one of Zanen's favorite games of all time--though she never had the chance to play it. Glad to have an excuse to stop trying to dance along with Namini and Josh, she stopped moving and smoothed out the creases in her dark black dress. Oh gods, she hoped that "Lulu" hadn't seen her pitiful attempt at dancing. Pasting something that appeared like a sheepish smile on her face, the vampiress purposely strode over to the girl, subconsciously nodding along to the back beat of the current song.
"Hello!" she grinned cheerfully, showing off her fake fangs. "You have a beautiful costume and...uhh..." Zanen trailed off lamely as her natural shyness began to show, "...yeah."
Self-consciously brushing her long hair out her eyes, Zanen suddenly remembered that she hadn't introduced herself yet--the mistake she made with Namini. If there was one thing the vampiress prided herself on, it was that she was quite a fast learner. She clenched one of her hands into a fist, feeling the coolness of her palms--too cold as always. Her mother always proclaimed that Zanen's blood circulation was never that good. Oh well, at least they weren't sweaty. Gingerly, the Asian girl offered "Lulu" an outstretched hand.
"Oh, and by the way, my name is Zanen. And might I be so bold as to inquire for your name?"

Aphismet had made quick work of his drink, and as soon as that had been done, the kami returned to his couch, where he flopped down and lifted his feet on the coffee table. He just wanted to relax, and he was quite glad that so far not many people had spoken to him.
Rivener quickly saw that Roux had something in mind; he Ice Frei was half-smiling much too often, and was quite eager to take part in the activities. Riv shrugged and thought nothing of it.
What he DID think of however, is Lazarus. Rivener was too self-conscious to go talk to the Fire Frei. He didn't want to accidentally say something the other wouldn't like, and then Laz might explode the back yard. So, Riv simply gawked from afar, covertly staring at the bare-chested, tattoo-sporting Fire god.
Riv also (miraculously) noticed Zavier was here. The Scorpion hadn't seen that Raevan in a long time, and it was a shame really. Zavier was fun, and a nice guy to hang around with. But, Rivener wasn't about to go talk to him now, since Zave was busy chatting with Laz.
So instead of doing anything, Riv simply hung back and watched everything. He tilted his head when Roux missed the target all three times. "You got really close that time," he said with an encouraging smile. "Are you allowed to try again?"
Riv couldn't decide who looked more breathtaking between the Ice and the Fire Raevans. It was a close call, but Riv would have to be careful not to let Roux know that.

Niksia took to the stand, so to speak, ready to take her turn at pitching the pirate doctor Tsu into the tank. She planted her winged white staff into the ground next to her, it leaned drunkenly but stayed fairly firmly in place.
Her hair was bothering her though, the dye had been a mistake. The unruly mass didn't feel right and she suspected it was going to get in the way of her throws. The headdress was used to tie it back loosely, making Niksia look a little less angelic.
'Ok, everyone please duck. I feel guilty already.'
She grabbed a ball from the pile and curled her arm back, tossing it with surprising strength...
