"Well, if it has to happen, please do what you can. I've never been able to be athletic, or have any kind of endurance or speed or strength. It'd make adapting easier with that on my side."
She actually managed to smile. "You're really not a bad guy, Mayuri, for someone who's doing what you're doing. Well, can we get started? I'd rather be done with it, if it's going to happen."

Mayuri nodded, pulling a vial out of his coat pocket. "Here, it'll only take a minute. It's self replicating." He poured the vial into a syringe and injected the serum into her arm. "The changes will start momentarily." He said.

Kristen looked at her arm, the reality of it sinking in.
"Mayuri, since you're being so nice, can I ask you a favor? Before things begin, can you take some pictures of me?" She rubbed the injection point. "In case I want to remember the old me."
(I'll let you handle the pacing and change descriptions, if you're okay with that, Riku.)

Mayuri nodded, pulling out a cell phone and pointing it at her. "Say cheese." He said, taking several full body pictures of her.

Kristen forced a smile, and let him get a few good shots of her.
"Thanks. That means a lot to me. So, do I need to, um, strip or anything?"

"Might be advisable." Mayuri said, smiling and pressing a small switch on the side of his glasses. The glasses blacked out, effectively blinding him. "Ok, go ahead."
On the arm that had been injected, a light coating of fur had appeared.

"Oh, wow," Kristen said, looking at the orange dusting, and the faint black lines. She stroked it gently. "Mmm, that's nice."
She broke away to remove her clothing. At first, she covered up, but then decided not to bother. What would modesty be in a little while? "Mayuri...you can look, if you want. I know you need to, to observe. I understand."

Mayuri smiled and tapped the side of his glasses again. "No worries. I'm not going to ogle right now. I'm recording it all on a small camera, right here."
Fur was starting to spread out onto Kristen's torso, and then onto her other arm. Her coxyix was starting to lengthen slightly as well.

She looked at the white patch on her chest and stomach, and the thick fullness of the orange and black along her arms. She reached back to feel her coccyx. Her eyes closed in lazy sensation.
"Mayuri...that anesthetic...it's REALLY good..."

He smiled. "I try to do my best with my biochem work. I've never actually tested the anesthetic before."
The fur continued to spread down her body, to her feet, then continuing up to her head. Her hair changed to match her fur. Her coccyx was continuing to slowly lengthen and her body began to slim and become more athletic.

Kristen felt her body fat melting away, felt it becoming strong muscle. "Aaaahhh...wonderful." She caressed her growing tail and striped mane.
Suddenly, she worried when she felt the changes reach her head. "I won't lose my speech, will I?"

Mayuri shook his head. "No, definately not. I wired that into the gene. Your voice will sound more feline, however."
Kristen's tail finished growing and her face started to lengthen into a feline muzzle. Her teeth also started to sharpen, becoming fangs.

"Oh, ggggrrrood. That's a rrrelief," she said, suddenly surprised at her speech.
She waved her heavy tail and felt her muzzle. Just because she could, she opened her predatory mouth wide and...
"RRRRRRROOOOOAAAAAAWWWWRRRRRR!!!"
