confused As someone who uses disposable weaponry, there's one thing your not putting into perspective. While a Person using a sword has infinite attacks, someone using projectile weapons does not. They have buy more projectiles, and so on. Using 6 shuriken per turn would quickly drain their supply, and believe me when I say dodging them is easy enough. It's not as unfair as you might think right at first.
And you can only throw six per turn. Keep that in mind, no more.
And what's more the Hien technique is not nearly as effective with them, hence a Dai Katana with the hien technique, and someone throwing the max number of projectiles per turn with the hien technique, each with identical stats, would be doing the same amount of damage per turn, if indeed the Dai Katana was not doing more. All with the projectile character losing their ammo stock at a rapid rate. Each Projectile usually costs 2 ryo per shot, meaning that in the end the one person is throwing RIDICULOUS amounts of money into every major battle, forcing them to use them sparingly. Swords cost infinitely less by comparison, indeed, any weapon does. And Again, the dodge bonus, as well as various jutsu which completely block projectile attacks.

Yeah I see your point, but really, all you would have to do is like, one mission and you would have a decent amount of ryo to buy shuriken.
Also, can you do the math for the dai katana+hien technique? I did the math for the strongest melee (damage range would be 4-16) with 10 points in ninja weapons(melee)
VERSUS 6 shuriken(1-2+dex mod) with 10 points in ninja weapons(ranged) and the shurikens overpowered the katana by a lot. if you added the hien technique to both then I would just assume the shuriken would still do more damage o__o

Small projectiles get 1/4 chakra mod from Hien, Dai Katana gets x2 chakra mod, Katana X1 chakra mod.
What's more, when fighting someone using projectiles, think of this.
Let's say one A mission grants 200 ryo, Spend all that on Senbon, but you also spent 50 Senbon on that mission you've essentially only gained 50 senbon.
Now, if you rely on Long range weapons, imagine the problem someone who simply focuses on Agility, or merely using guard moves to wear down your supply, that could cost you much much more.

Ahh, if only I could have Black Star's autograph.....
Also his weapon would be EPIC aswell. I mean Tsubaki can turn into a ninjato and tons of other things.

If you want the math, here.
1-2 +10 skill points=11-12 +dex 20=31-32+chakra mod of 20/4(5)= 36-37
1-12+10 skill points=11-22 +Str 20=31-42+chakra mod of 20 times 2 (40)= 71-82
Now, true, if you use all your six senbon in one attack, you do much more damage, but you have no more Senbon attacks for the rest of your turn, your sword wielding opponent may still have more attacks.
Example: People with four attacks: Senbon (all six in one turn) 216-222
Dai Katana Turn one 71-82 Turn two 71-82 Turn three 71-82 Turn four 71-82 added together, the Sword master had a possible 284-328

Hayate-senpai Ahh, if only I could have Black Star's autograph..... Also his weapon would be EPIC aswell. I mean Tsubaki can turn into a ninjato and tons of other things. Rather have Stein's myself, but Black Star is also incredibly awesome.

Hmm, I had assumed that "1 turn" meant 1 attack turn, and at level 6+ you get multiple attack posts, so I thought you could throw like 6 per turn, that would be ridiculous, right?
But I see your point, thanks =D but wouldn't that also mean that the person throwing senbon (assuming that all 6 had hit) versus the person that used all 4 attacks to get around the damage from senbon would have 3 more attack turns to do stuff? o__O

Although, you'd have to be SURE you were going to hit by going all in one. Trust me. Missing a six senbon shot is... sweatdrop Well just trust me. Usaully you'd spread your attacks out amongst your turns. Also it's important to note that this is a strategic choice. As someone who uses Long ranged weapons, I could easily defeat someone who relied on them, in the higher levels, it's Jutsu that decide a fight. Once you learn certain moves, regular weapons are basically just for Npc's and show, unless their enhanced by a jutsu like Hien and the like.
