Chaplain Fenix Heating and cooling rapidly will usually distemper it and shatter/fracture/explode it. Speaking for steel, atleast. But that's a process that requires several runthroughs and isn't even about the temperature... it's about making millions of microfactures in the material through repeatedly expanding and retracting the molecular structure without retempering it. Basically like playing Jenga on a molecular level. Eventually it'll just collapse.

If moving metal shattered when rapidly cooled, then soldiers would carry liquid nitrogen bodypacks over their armour.

I've seen metal in the forge go all to hell because it was too hot. Steel just went to s**t and was ruined pig iron.
Depends on the temperatures on both ends.
EDIT: No Chris, they really wouldn't.

Then YOUR soldiers would be carrying around a LOT of extra weight which would KILL them as soon as they were shot REGARDLESS of whether or not it was a lethal injury.

Cause I'll totally find it and go around hitting people. Then enter CwP and make sure to look for those items everyone will be wanting. There's a lot of fun s**t on that list I made. Items to appease Kraun, a few suggestions made by Owle, toys for Athan, a joygasm for Shou, etc.
