Tomo waved to Arlen, then shook his head as Cass seemed to have fallen asleep. "Silly girl." He purred, a little curious about the pillow and blanket. She didn't seem mad at him, though, so it must have been for a good reason. He bent down and kissed her forehead before going behind the bar to get himself a cup of chamomile tea. "Evening, Arlen." The blonde greeted, leaning against the bar, "Can I get you anything?"

"Some hot chocolate would be good," Arlen admitted, his eyes catching on Tomo's pendant. "Where'd you get that?" he asked, gesturing to the piece of jewelry.

Tomo nodded and got some hot chocolate started as he waited for his tea to steep. He looked down at the pendant and smiled. "Ritsuko-san sent it to me." He said with a broad smile. "It's a protection charm for Liam when he gets old enough to wear it." He explained as he added sugar to his tea.

"Ah," Arlen said, looking at it more closely. "It looks a little gaudy to me," he said bluntly before leaning back and shrugging. "But I suppose it's appearance doesn't matter.

Tomo laughed and mixed a mug of hot chocolate for Arlen, "So, it's not just me?" He asked as he handed the other man the mug. "The point is, it's packed with a hell of a lot of magic." He said, poking it as he picked up his own tea and sipped it.

"Thank you," Arlen said as he took the mug but didn't drink from it yet. "I suppose that's good, but wouldn't it be best if the thing's not needed at all?"

Tomo laughed quietly and leaned against the bar, "Of course it is, but it's a gift from grandmother to grandson. Rhiannon has one, too." He explained, shaking his head. "It's just a kind gesture."

Arlen shrugged and sipped his cocoa. "I think if I were a kid I'd be happier with candy."

Tomo just rolled his eyes and stood up, "Of course Ritsuko-san's going to give him candy. It's her duty as grandmother to spoil my children." He said, pushing gently on Arlen's head in jest as he walked by. He walked to the couch Cass had fallen asleep on and shook his head, plopping down at her feet. Carefully, and without waking her, he pulled her over and laid her head in his lap, stroking her hair as he got comfortable.

Arlen sighed and leaned against the counter, setting his empty cocoa mug down. "I'm sorry, Tomo," he said seriously. "I've never been able to pay you back for everything you've done for me."

Tomo shook his head, "There's nothing to repay, Arlen." He said, softly so that he didn't wake the neko in his arms. "This is just what I do. I wanted to create a home for anyone who needed one. My reward is the people here. This family we've become."

"Still," Arlen said, shaking his head. "Never mind then. I'm going to get some sleep. Good night Tomokazu." He said, heading towards the stairs.

Tomo smiled and waved to Arlen, "Good night!" He said before looking back to Cass. It wasn't long before he, too, was attacked by fatigue. He leaned back against the couch cushions and quickly fell asleep as well.

Arlen returned the wave with a forced smile and headed upstairs. At the very top he whispered his goodbyes to Tomo before heading down the hall to where his bed was waiting for him for the last or second to last time.
