The guard looked up at Miharu from behind his paper, and set down his coffee mug. "Just write down your name and the Pokemon you'll be using," he said, sliding a clipboard and a pen towards her.

"We can only use one Pokemon?" she asked, reading over the fine-print text that gave the rules for the contest. "What happens to our other Pokemon while we're competing?"

"We hold onto them for safe keeping," the guard replied, his tone a little flat. "There's no need to worry, as security is very tight during the contest," he added, having noticed the concerned look in Miharu's eyes.

"All right," she said, scratching her chin and looking down at the list of other participants. The last name on the list was 'Robin Knight', and she pondered a bit what Pokemon the other contestants would use as she wrote her name neatly in the allocated space, as well as her age, as indicated. She tapped the pen thoughtfully against her chin as she tried to decide which Pokemon to use. "Tingle would probably play the entire time, and Lily isn't very strong against Bug Pokemon. Sparkle isn't strong enough yet... Hmmm..." she mused, still thinking. Finally, under the space marked 'Participating Pokemon', she neatly wrote 'Pidgeotto' in fine blue ink, and set the pen down. "There," she said, grinning. "All done."

"Great, that's perfect," the guard said, still sipping his coffee as he looked over what she'd written. "That's all there is to it. Just show up here tomorrow, and you'll get your final instructions then. Good luck," he said, taking the blue pen in his left hand and folding up the newspaper in order to start work on the daily crossword puzzle.

"Thanks," Miharu nodded, going back over to her bike and exiting the building. She didn't know what to expect for tomorrow, but she could already feel the excitement of the pending contest building up inside of her.

Kasiya squeezed an eye open at the sound of the horn, and shifted a little as she felt Keegan nudging her arm. "Okay..." she murmured, sitting up and looking around. She smiled at the sight of her hometown creeping up on them, and she stood up and wandered towards the railing. "Vermilion always looks so welcoming to me," she said somewhat dreamily, stifling a yawn as she turned to look back at Keegan. "Looks like you made it through okay. The tough part of this trip is over," she smiled. She thought of calling him over as the ferry pulled in to dock at the harbor, but she changed her mind, knowing that Keegan wouldn't really move until the boarding ramp was securely in place. She peered over the railing, catching sight of several Magikarp and Goldeen swimming along beneath them, peacefully minding their own business.

She made a mental note to stop at home before they started to head north to Saffron City to pick up a few things, namely get some clean clothes and whatnot, plus she thought it would be a good idea to tell her mother that she was heading off to Hoenn for a while, and probably wouldn't come back to Kanto for some time. The ferry finally came to a stop, and sounded its loud foghorn once again. The crew went about preparing the boat for passengers to depart, and when they were finished, Kasiya made sure she and Keegan were the first ones to greet dry land with their feet. "All better now," she said cutely, patting his arm gently as they wandered through the harbor area towards the city.

With a long, drawn-out sigh, Mary-Anne leaned back tiredly into the wooden chair, closing her eyes for a moment. Getting angry was so exhausting; when she lost her temper, it seemed that same said temper left and took chunks of her energy along with it in vengeance. How people could act angry AND stay that way for a long time was beyond her. "No, I don't think we did anything wrong either. Maybe that's the way to go," she said in response to Ky with another, low sigh. Well, he was right. If Crenu was stuck on being that way, then so be it. They couldn't do anything about it, could they? It wouldn't weigh on her any longer either. All she had to do was not think about it. I mean, there's bound to be plenty of people who act like jerks (although I'm sure they can't be complete jerks all the way through, right?), and you can't let them get you in a knot. What's important is. . . her thoughts trailed away as Ky abruptly left. Boys. How will I ever understand them? A small smile soon reappeared on her lips, however, after reading the note she left behind. So the twins left behind the Totodile - Rex - in Ky's care. Having another buddy in their group was great and all, but. . . the twins must have felt lonely, leaving their Pokemon behind, M.A. thought. Would they be okay about it? Well, it had been their choice, and she could only hope that life would treat them well later on. Her eyes flipped towards her own Pokemon; Daemyn, Tora, and Ulani were not far away, the former two lying on their backs after stuffing themselves far too much. What's important are your friends.

It was a sunny day out, and with the good news Mary-Anne had a revival of heart. She was going to give her Pokemon and herself a lovely day one way or another. After washing her plate (and a the others, though the DayCare Woman insisted that it was quite alright that she didn't) and thanking them for their hospitality, she turned to her Pokemon. "Hey, you two! Let's take a round in the fresh air before you have a food coma," she laughed. Crenu was someplace in the back and Ky was someplace in the side yard, so she opted for the route in front of the DayCare. The two groaned a little before spinning to their legs. "The cost of being a glutton," she giggled, squatting and poking Daemyn's belly and ruffling Tora behind her ears. My, the Houndour sure had muscle now! He was getting too big for her to carry. . . "'Lani, let's come too, okay?"

The four trooped on out, and took a modest jog about the route. It really was a nice day. . . Yesterday felt like a forever ago. After a few minutes, that morning felt like a distant past too. M.A. really loved to run; the fast, the better, the more free. But at the moment, Daemyn and Tora weren't capable of such speed without getting noxious, so they stayed at a good trot. With the exercise, their metabolisms kicked on to high gear, and soon the Houndour and the Phanpy were at their usual fun little competitions. Mini-races were soon giving Mary-Anne and Ulani quite some amusement; they ran to and fro, back and forth, in circles, and in whatever ways they can. Generally, Daemyn bested Tora, but only by a hair's breadth -- the canine was faster, but Tora was bent as hell on beating him. Despite all this running, though, at the conclusion of their meet, the two weren't dead beat quite yet and continued a "who-can-do-a-cooler-attack" one-on-one match of sorts. Once again, M.A. and Ulani watched with piqued interest.

Daemyn's first attempt was foiled by his sneezing; his picture of a fire display ended up in a cloud of smoke and a teary-eyed Houndour, much to everyone's laughter (by now, M.A. was fully recovered and cheerful again). Tora, on the other hand, rolled up into her ball and spun around and around and around in a slightly lopsided circle which grew smaller and smaller until a small dust tornado was created. When the Phanpy broke out of it, the dizzy little thing staggered around drunkely until she backed her bottom into a rock, which led to more laughter. Ulani, however, awarded Tora with the win, much to Daemyn's haughty nonchalance.

Strangely, Ky paused for a moment before opening the kitchen door that led outside. His hand hovered over the doorknob and to his surprise, it was shaking. Why did he feel so nervous? He had been so happy to know that he'd been left with the Totodile, but there was one thought that just occurred to him: what if Rex didn't want a new trainer? If Rex didn't want to go with Ky, what would he do? Ky couldn't just forcefully catch him; Rex would run away for sure... Dwelling on these thoughts, Ky lowered his head in defeat. He was just some random trainer; what made him so special that he deserved Rex's trust and companionship?

Then, at the peak of Ky's uneasiness, he soon found a bony, yet firm grip clutching his shoulder. Looking to the side, Ky was glad to see the tall, old man staring straight at the door, a confident smile on his face. "Young man, I know what you're thinking and I'm glad you're thinking it," he started vaguely. "That Pokemon out there has been through trying times throughout his life. It breaks my heart to know what he's been through, but even more so, it breaks my heart to see that he loves this place more than he's loved any place in his life. It's not healthy for a Pokemon to stay cooped up, whether they want to or not, and in a small way, I believe Rex knows that too." The old man then turned Ky around and placed his other hand on Ky's other shoulder, speaking to him face to face. "Ky, the fact that you stood thinking at the doorway clearly shows you care, and for a Pokemon that you don't even know! If anything, that is exactly the type of trainer this Pokemon needs, that any Pokemon needs. Please, go out there and remember; Rex is looking for a new trainer, and more importantly, he's looking for you." And having said that, the old man finished with a smile, patting Ky confidently before letting go of his shoulders and walking back towards the living room. "Honey?! Have you seen my schedule?" he called out as he left through the door.

Obviously stated, the old man's words were just what Ky needed, if even more so. Sting, having been extremely bored during the man's speech, hovered impatiently with his arms crossed near the doorway. Ky laughed a little. "Come on buddy, let's go meet our new pal." And with that, Ky opened the door to the side yard, welcoming the morning air with confidence. Off to the side, he could see Crenu practicing with his Pokemon, rigorously as expected, but what really caught Ky's eye was just how large this yard was. It was gigantic. Aside from the small wooden patio, the entire fenced-in area was covered with grass, including some small hills and a decently-sized pond in the back. Even in Violet City, this could easily be labeled as a small park.

Knowing that Rex was a Water-type, it was easy to guess the Pokemon would be somewhere near the pond in the back, so that's where Ky headed. Sting in the meanwhile, decided to face-off vengefully against his infamous opponent, the Oxygen-Pokemon, while he flew. Jabbing left and right, with both hooks and uppercuts, Sting continued until he felt his sore muscles loosen. He wanted to see this 'pal' Ky spoke of; maybe they'd have a friendly spar.

Having been resting with his head just above the shallows' surface of the pond, Rex noticed Ky approaching much earlier than Ky could spot him. Nevertheless, he surfaced to let himself be seen. He knew this trainer was quite friendly, to the extent that he called off that retched bird's attacks. Still, it struck him as odd as to why he was approaching him in such a cheery matter. Cutely, the Totodile sent a little squirt of water towards Ky's face, and having been aimed perfectly, Ky could only raise his hand up to shield the blast. Catching on to Rex's playfulness, Ky laughed as he dried his hands with his shirt, taking a non-threatening seat nearby. "Hey Sting, go practice your Fury Attacks over that hill over there. I'm gunna talk with this little guy for a bit," Ky suggested. Not in the mood to be bored again, Sting easily complied, setting off towards his epic duel with O2.

As soon as Sting was off, Ky gave off a hefty sigh. This was it. "So, it's Rex, right?" Ky started.

"Ariados, shoot your poison sting in an arch. Try and hit that rock over there." He said as he pointed to a rock that couldn't have been more than five meters ahead. Ariados did as commanded with vigor, she shot her purple spray high into the air making a near perfect arch and Crenu watched as it hit teh ground. Scattered aroudn the target, the needles hit general target area of the rock and some of the earth around it. "Not perfect, but good enough for now. We'll practice on that accuracy later, but we just need the general direction for the combination. Poison Sing again Ariados, do it just as you did before. Poliwag, O want you to use your ice beam on the needles. Take aim and try and hit the needles when they reach the peak of their tragectory. Go!" Ariados nodded and reared as she readied her spray of needles. Poliwag on the other hand, was not so confident. He looked shaken as he got into position a few paces ahead of Ariados, looking up as he charged the ball of energy infront of his body. The needles went flying as they did before, and when they reached their peak, Poliwag unleashed his ice beam to intercept them as they fell. All did not go as planned however, and instead of combining perfectly, the ice beam disrupted the needle's path and kocked them out of the air. Needles fell from the sky scattering in every direction, a few of them had frozen over but just fell straight down. "No! That's not even close to what we want Poiliwag, use less power. You aren't trying to over power anyone here, you're trying to coat her attack with your own, you're assisting her in this move. Again!" The pokemon repeated the move, but the result was the same. Poliwag still had no real controll over the ice beam. He had just learned how to not get tossed around by it, but there was no way he could regulate it's power. The needles scattered around worse than before and one of them nearly hit Crenu who stepped to the side and avoided it. "You're suppose to get better, not worse. Are you even trying!? Again!" Poliwag frowned and readied himself again, his concentration was intense as he fired another ice beam that again foiled the attempt. "Useless, you've got to use less power Poliwag. You're just going to tire out faster otherwise. Take a break, you're no good to me right now. You two come back as well." He returned the three of them to their pokeballs and sighed.

"Thank the gods," Keegan murmured as he felt his feet touch the sturdy, solid ground of the harbor's floor. He resisted the urge to drop to his knees and kiss it however, but mostly just for the sake of his dignity. "Vermilion never looked so good," he said, smiling down at the lovely blonde girl walking along beside him. He looked around as they made their way into the city, not really sure which route would start to lead them north. "I'm not as Kanto-savvy as you are, Kas, so you'd best lead the way. Any stops to be made before we head to Saffron?" he asked, wondering if he needed to pick up anything at the local Pokemon Mart while they were there. He remembered that the harshest part of heading home was the trek past Mauville, and if they were subject to any battles along the way, he'd want to have some healing items with him since there would be no Pokemon Center in their sights until they were back at Lavaridge.

"I want to go home and get some clean clothes and stuff," Kasiya nodded, quite happy to lead the way. She seemed to be mirroring Keegan's thoughts about healing items though, as she knew that the three Potions she carried were probably not going to be enough. She recalled the condition her party had been in after the fight with Casimir, and shuddered. If it hadn't been for Fang...

"So, this time, when we get to Lavaridge, you're going to take me to the hot springs, right? Right?" she asked, giving him a playful nudge in the ribs. "You keep saying you want to take me, but last time, well, didn't go quite according to plan," she went on, neglecting to mention that she'd already been to the hot springs - after all, it would be much more fun with Keegan by her side. Besides, she figured it would be best to not mention the fight again, seeing as it was in the past and here they were in the present.

She continued to lead the way towards her house, and they arrived not long after. Kasiya found herself missing her bike more and more with each step, but it was forgotten as she finally arrived home. The house looked strangely quiet as she walked up the front steps, and when she tried to open the door, she found it was locked, to her dismay.

The Eevee was visibly tired now, nearly resting on its belly as it awaited its trainer's next command. It was breathing heavily, eying Torchic with a mixture of anger and respect. It was funny how some Pokemon admired and respected each other's strengths, while others were envious and even went out of their way to outdo and rival one another. Torchic also seemed to admire the Eevee's spirit, and she clawed the ground in eager anticipation.

"Tackle attack! Hang in there, Eevee!" Marietta yelled, raising a clenched fist into the air. The little brown Pokemon got back up to its feet, and grit its teeth before charging forward, a growl escaping from its throat as its feet hit the ground. Torchic braced herself for the impact, grunting a little as the Eevee rammed into her.

"Quickly Torchic! Counter with Ember!" Jaeshan shouted. The fiery little chick let out an angry growl of her own and spat out a mouthful of flames onto her opponent's back. The Eevee let out a howl and crumpled to the ground, trembling from the attack.

"Oh, Eevee!" Marietta cried, dashing forward and scooping the tired little Pokemon into her arms. "Not bad, Young Master," she grinned, gently kissing the Eevee's forehead before returning it into its Pokeball. "But now comes round two. Do you think you can handle this?" It was more of a statement than a question as she hurled her second Pokeball, from with erupted a creature that made Jaeshan take an involuntary step back. Its long, black, sleek body was covered in yellow diamond-shaped patterns, and two long, dangerously sharp fangs protruded from its gaping mouth. "Okay Seviper! Time for action! Wrap attack!"

Jaeshan could only watch as the Fang Snake Pokemon shot forward, hissing viciously as it prepared to ensnare the smaller Pokemon within its coils.

"That's fine," Keegan nodded, quite happy to be led along. "Myself, I want to visit the Pokemon Mart somewhere along the way, so long as it's before we start heading to Lavaridge," he added. He was excited for this little trip for two reasons: one, it would definitely help pass the time until the first, and secondly, he was in very good company. He couldn't believe he'd almost left her behind while he went along on his own to wallow in his miseries.

He smiled at the mention of the hot springs, and nodded. "Yeah," he said, putting a finger to his chin. "But only after I've defeated Flannery, all right?" He figured a nice relaxing soak in the springs would be the perfect way to unwind after a battle with a Gym Leader. "Man, I can't wait!" he nearly shouted, pumping his fist into the air. "That Heat Badge is gonna be mine!" The last phrase he whispered to himself as they came upon Kasiya's house. Keegan studied it for a moment, watching as Kasiya made her way to the front door. He wasn't certain if he should wait outside or wait to be invited in, but either way, he could tell that Kasiya had discovered the door to be locked. "Do you not have a key?" he asked, but thought it a stupid question, seeing as most people carried a key to their own home. But then again, it was Kasiya, and anything was possible. "Don't tell me you lost it or something," he moaned, putting his hand on his forehead and sighing.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 05, 2008 2:24 pm

Kasiya was perfectly fine with going back to Lavaridge's famous therapeutic hot springs after Keegan beat Flannery, and she bit her lip a little from responding with 'but what if you don't defeat her?' She shook the thought from her head though; she believed in Keegan, especially now that he had Althena on his side. It was then she remembered seeing the battle on TV he'd had with that reporter lady and the weird pink-haired girl, and she frowned, digging around in her pockets for a few moments. "No, FYI I did not lose my key," she said haughtily, putting her hands on her hips and turning to cast a glare at him. "I don't actually have a key." She pursed her lips, looking around for a moment before she smiled. "I do, however, know a thing or two." She lifted up several of her mother's flower pots before she found what she was looking for: a panel of the porch that slid away, revealing a small compartment just big enough for something small and metallic. "See?" She stuck out her tongue at him and fit it in the lock. After hearing the click, she turned the handle and went inside. "Are you coming?"

It was odd to be at home without her mother there, and she sighed a little. So much for saying goodbye before she left for Hoenn, but opted to leave a note instead. As she reached for the notepad however, she found a note in her mother's handwriting. Despite being quickly written, it was still almost unbearably neat. "This wasn't for me," she murmured, wondering who she'd left it for. It said something about meeting at the usual place, and something about luggage. Kasiya shrugged and forgot all about it, writing a note of her own and signing it. "Make yourself comfortable," she told Keegan before dashing up the stairs to repack her clothing for the trip to Hoenn.

Prickles stood in defiance of the two men who had kidnapped her trainer, his needles extending in a threatening manner.

"Hmph, we don't need to bother with this small fry boss." Number 1 said. "He doesn't look dangerous." Sasha felt her kidnapper walk forward, each step causing her to uncomfortable bump into his backside. I bet the creep is loving this. I'm never wearing skirts again.

"You fool!" Mr. Deep shouted in a voice that made both Sasha and Number One jump. "Don't go nea-" His warning was cut short by Prickles firing a round of sharp needles into Number One's leg. He screamed and dropped the bag, causing Sasha to hit her head on a nearby branch as the sac slammed to the ground.

The last thing she remembered was the sound of Number One's whimpering.

"I should buy a scarf." Mike said to himself randomly while peering over at the territorial rain in hopes of it clearing up. "What a surprise, it's still pouring." He grumbled, leaning back onto the grass, his arms behind his head. There was nothing to do. If this kept up, he'd just say to hell with it and walk through, rain or shine. "Wait a minute." Mike sat up abruptly as he was practically electrocuted with an idea. "Wait. I'm a bloody Pokemon trainer, why don't I just practice to kill time?"

Nitro could practically strangle the boy right now. He really could.

Mike shot up, then stumbled back a bit due to all the blood rushing to his head. Once he had regained control, the boy reached for a Pokeball, only to be interrupted mid swing.

"Oh!" A soft voice called out from behind him. Turning to see who it was, Mike was met eye to eye with a cute girl, wielding a parasol. She was dressed in all pink and had an air of sophistication about her. What someone like her was doing in the rain is beyond me. He then noticed a Pokemon beside her, a Wigglytuff, who was ringing out its ears. The brown haired boy waved friendlily at her. "Hello there, what brings you over to the sunny side of things?"

"My name is Lisa, and I was just out for my usual stroll with my Pokemon." She smiled, her pale but pretty complexion standing out from the dark green of the grass and trees. She looked over at Nitro, and threw him a friendly look. "Hello!"

The Charizard straightened up, brushing off the dirt on his stomach. Mike always taught him to be respectful of those who are polite.

"Sounds like...fun!" He replied, amazed at the strength of her seemingly dinky and paper thin umbrella. "I was about to head that way myself, but the rain wasn't looking too friendly and I just dried these clothes." He let out a short and awkward laugh.

Lisa smiled once again. She seemed like a very upbeat and cheery individual. "How about a deal then? If you can defeat me in a battle, I'll go with you in the rain and you can use my extra umbrella."

"And if I lose?" The boy inquired.

Lisa smirked. "Then you have to buy me a TM I want at the Lilycove Department Store."

"You're on."

Keegan just shrugged as Kasiya pulled up the hidden key. "You should really get your own key. What if your mom locks herself out of the house one day?" She hadn't really heard him though, as she'd already gone through the front door. "Wait up!" he called after her, jogging up the steps and closing the door behind him. "Nice place," he commented, looking around as Kasiya went about her business getting ready. He slipped his shoes off and wandered around the den and hallways, mostly just studying the photographs that were on the walls around his house. Most of them were of Kasiya as a small child, although there were quite a few of her mother as well. Keegan realized after a while that some of the photos also contained Lt. Surge as well as her mother, probably taken when they were closer to his age. He never would have been able to imagine the Lieutenant as a teenage boy unless he'd seen proof right there in front of him. Another photo held an image of the gym leader holding a smiling, blonde-haired baby in his meaty arms (making the infant look even smaller than she actually was), and Keegan smiled. "She was cute even back then," he mumbled, tapping the glass lightly with his finger. "Good to know some things definitely don't change." He plopped himself down on the sofa, and picked up a magazine from the table. It was one of those home-improvement ones, with those gorgeous, unobtainable houses decorating the pages to make people spend more money on 'improvements' than they probably really needed. Keegan scoffed at the pricey house on the cover and put the book back, leaning forward and resting his elbows on his knees while he continued to wait.

The National Park was nothing short of beautiful. It was obviously well-kept, and Miharu secretly wondered how much of Goldenrod City's budget went towards care of the place. She rode slowly onward, amazed at how many trainers were already out practicing with their Pokemon at such an early hour. The few she'd seen on the road were nothing compared to how many people were here. They were of all ages too, ranging from kids in strollers out with their parents to the elderly. An older couple was wandering about hand-in-hand as though they were still young lovers. As she passed by them, they said a cheerful good morning, and Miharu politely returned their greeting, making her way along the bike path. She was careful to avoid running into anyone, and she eyed the fountain that served as a lovely centerpiece for the park. She pulled up to it and dismounted her bike, deciding to have a seat. A young boy was sitting nearby, letting a small, blue Pokemon have a swim in the fountain's shallow waters - a Horsea. Taking inspiration from him, Miharu withdrew Starrie's Pokeball from her belt and released the Staryu. The five-pointed Pokemon appeared in a flash of light, but seemed a bit contented to find itself partially submerged in water. The Staryu let itself fall backwards, lying on the floor of the fountain. Miharu marveled at how beautifully its red, jeweled center twinkled in the bright morning sun.

Miharu watched her Pokemon for a few moments before she took another Pokeball from her belt. "Sparkle, you are in definite need of training," she told the sphere, thinking about wild Thundershocks that it had thrown at Aska when she'd made the capture the other day. "But I don't really want to battle with anyone just yet... hmm..." Perhaps I can train Sparkle with a Pokemon that's resistant to electric attacks. Starrie and Aska are out of that one for sure... She didn't even really consider Tingle; as much as she loved the strange Metang, she didn't quite trust it to train against such a young Pokemon. "Maybe Lily? Yeah, grass types aren't heavily damaged by electricity!" Grinning, she took a second Pokeball in her hand, and flung both of them in front of her. Sparkle erupted from her Pokeball before the thing even hit the ground, and Lily appeared in a flurry of lovely pink blossoms, as usual. Both Pokemon squinted in the bright sunlight, and looked up to their trainer expectantly. "Good morning, ladies," Miharu said brightly. "Are you ready for some training?"

Sparky saw Pix jump out of Yume's arms and stay her ground in front of the two of them. Not knowing what was going on, he look puzzled at Yume and saw her wear the same shocked expression he had when Pix got ready for a battle. What was out there? Without a second thought, he heard it too. A soft ruffling in the bushes not far from them at all. Yume took a battle stance as well. For the first time ever, Steffi was not around Sparky when there was going to be a battle and even though he was a strong Pikachu he felt an extreme fear pulse through him. "Pika!!" he shouted and clung frightfully onto Yume's arm.
Steffi was taking her time walking back. After all, she wasn't going to return home for a long time! Maybe even a few years! She wanted to see the trees and grass that was so familiar to her one last time. That was until she heard Sparky off in the distance. It was as if a hand had digged into her skin and clutched her heart. Her heart skipped a beat as she had trouble breathing. Sparky was frightened, and she could tell that she should've been somewhere she wasn't at right now; which was by his side.
She sprinted towards where the noise came from. It was very close. She saw Pix and Yume both facing the opposite direction ready to attack, and Sparky was clinging fearfully to Yume's arm. The moment he saw her, he sprang off Yume and galloped to Steffi, crawling up her leg and into her arms.
"Sparky!" she begun. "What's going on!" but he avoided eye contact with his owner and squirmed in her arms. Slowly he calmed down, now that his protective gaurdian was here. "Come on you fool!" Steffi called to him. Even though she hated being mean to him, it would be the only way to get through to him. "Be a man and go out and stand beside Pix!"

Shocked, Sparky looked up at Steffi. The two held close eye-contact for a while, Sparky deciding what to do while Steffi did her best to convince him to be strong. Slowly but surely Sparky nodded and grinned. He pounced off Steffi and ran to where Pix was standing, smiling at her. He stood his ground and gazed ahead. Steffi took her spot next to Yume and put her left leg out in front of her, her natural battle stance.
