Flare Sithfallin
She pushed the glass aside, leaving the dregs inside of it, to partake of the next round, graciously paid for by Joshua the exploited patrons.

"Something's got into these people's heads," he said; taking the glass brought by the barkeep and motioning to him to get another one already, because by the time he'd finished doing so that one was already half gone. "They think they're heroes or something... too many kids stories."

"These people don't know what they're getting into. The only thing for them to save the world from is each other."
PostPosted: Thu Mar 15, 2007 5:17 pm

"Hmph. Everyone who's ever nearly destroyed the world was trying to save it for something or other...well, except the idiots who seem to think it would help in their revenge or somesuch."

A pause, as she drained another glass. The bottom thudded against the countertop when she was done.

"No...actually, even those I've seen were trying to save it from something."

The demoness shook her head. "You and me, I think we got it right. The world's here to be enjoyed, not saved or threatened. I used enjoyed loosely, of course."

"Bah."

He finished the glass in hand and snatched the other one away from the barkeep before he even had a chance to set it down.

"The hateful bastards can do whatever they want with their world... it's when they start messing with other ones that someone needs to knock heads."

Within a few seconds the fresh beer was gone as well, and the glass was empty on the bar.

"They want something, they kill someone. They don't want something, they kill someone. They meet someone different, they kill him. They're sick of someone familiar, they kill them. These people hate everything, even themselves!"

There was a displeased grunt, and a hand slamming repeatedly onto the bar calling for another drink.

"...just what right do barbarians like that have to pass judgment... eh?"

Flare shrugged. "Killing people is an entertaining pastime, but it creates more problems than it solves most times."

She somehow chugged beer and shrugged her shoulders at the same time, and looked badass while doing it.

"Ahh..."

She wasn't quite matching pace with Joshua, but she was grateful for the next glass when it arrived. To save time she dumped a pile of gold on the bar, and let the barkeep know to keep bringing.

"A few years ago I'd have told you it was an abominable thing and didn't solve any problems at all...but I'd be a hypocrite now."

"There's nothing wrong with it."

He reached for another when it came, but didn't start drinking yet.

"People die all the time, there's nothing wrong with killing someone. What matters is why. If you kill someone because otherwise he would kill you, that isn't wrong... if you kill someone just because you want his horse..."

Then he drank.

"These people have their values all up-side down."

"But what if you put yourself in a situation where you force other people to try and kill you...you're hired to join a war, or you just happen to know that someone is going to come into a particular tavern and try to kill all the inhabitants. What if you were to seek out situations, where it was always their life or yours..."

It was too early for Flare to be getting drunk off the piss beer, but philosophy was something she liked to get into when she wasn't busy trying to get herself killed. So very few brought it up around her...or maybe it was just that so few around her thought about it.

The girl did, but it wasn't much fun debating morals with her.

"Beh."

He tipped his head back, and the beer with it.

"If a man has murder in his heart his own life is forfeit."

There could be more to say, but it wasn't worth the words to say it if she understood it already. It wasn't a complicated thing, not at all. People just assumed that it was, when it is actually the most natural and instinctual thing there is.

Kusajishi Kimiho, had been investigating leads about Victor Fah and his mafia-like following all night. Her queries landed her in a rather sketchy area of Latent. The back allies of a port cities slums was hardly a place for a woman to be on her own after dark... but Kimiho wasn't afraid. She was determined. She would not rest until she had located her Mistress. It was nearly two in the A.M. and she was on her way to check with one of her informants when she started getting the feeling that she wasn't entirely alone...

She'd be right. Most would expect a mugging, or some thug, but no. She got a void creature, a beast of a man, about six foot four, built as if he goes to the gym regularly... Swathed in darkness, his skin was a dark blue, with hair of snow, and dressed simply. A white peasant's shirt, held closed by a leather string. Below, loose, leather slacks. Arms held vambraces over the forearm, silver, and simple.

"You search for your Lady... Sierra her name, I believe, and I tell you this. You'll not find her until she wants to be found. She has wished herself into un-existance, a place within ones self. A place of darkness."

He wasn't a threat, Unarmed visibly, except for those hands that crossed his impressive breast. Eyes were yellow, and glowed, standing impressively from the dark, dark male. Upon inspection, he radiated this darkness in black mist.

Kimiho's hand strayed to the small of her back, lingering near the hilt of her katana as she turned to face the man slowly. Feral eyes narrowed appraisingly as she took in his appearance. He stood with casual indifference, an air of curiosity about him but nothing hostile.

"What do you know of the Princess, voidian?"

Her tone was not cold or hostile, she simply cut to the heart of the matter. Kimiho had a job to do, she didn't enjoy beating around bushes.

"Nothing, to be terribly honest."

He'd jump, dropping down to the street with so much as a flinch, maintaining his stance he had taken, His right heel, planted firmly to the instep of his left foot. A ballet stance, to the skilled eye. Something taught to fencers.

"She stepped in as I was leaving. I saw an opportunity and I took it. She's scared, I think. Speculation, you must understand. I gleaned little in passing."

His beauty was nothing, really, in this world of evolution, of difference every day. But he sure was a looker. Human in appearance, the difference laid in everything that made him different. Hair, skin-tone, those eyes...

"Your search should not continue, I suggest. Instead, prepare yourself for her return, and test your steel against the enemies you gauge a threat."

He smiled then, a thing of perfection again, quickly harvesting into a grin of white.

"My enemies are part of my search stranger, and thus it will continue."

She noted the stance, as she hadn't stopped observing him.

"Not to be rude but, Who are you exactly?"

The beast smiled, and took a graceful bow, Right arm coming to waist as he extends his left to the side.

"Nexxus, At your service, Dame Kimiho."

The bow is held with silence, for three kept seconds, before he returns back to his straight stance, arms acrossed his chest.

A bow was executed in return, Kimiho stepped back on her right foot, knee slightly bent, keeping the left leg straight and forward as she dipped towards the earth gracefully, hinging slightly at the waist, her right arm extended to the side and helf straight, while the left, swept to her chest. Raising back up she grinned her cat-like grin at him and purred,

"It's a pleasure."

She was used to having the down low on people not the other way around, it was a nice change of pace, but it put her on guard. Especially since he seemed privvy to information reguarding such sensitive matters.

"Might I ask how you know me Nexxus-san?"

He would draw off with a soft laugh, revealing the pin-point of fangs.

"I feel that you find me a problem... Perhaps we should make it so, to liven things?" Words are followed by a step, another, swift.. He'd rush her, perhaps running odd, left fist over right shoulder, His body cocked to the side with it... Backhand? Perhaps. Right hand coveted beneath left elbow, right elbow neatly bearing his right bicep parallel to his torso. Vambraces gleamed, beautifully.
