Reality gave me a hard kick to the kidneys and made me rethink my Elysian veterans army list. A lascutter is not as good as I hoped, especially seeing as it cannot attack infantry models, just bunkers and immobile vehicles. So instead I'm dropping the lascutters and using them as meltaguns, which produces the following army list:

HQ.
Senior officer - Power fist
Veterans (4) - Medic, vox and meltaguns (2)

Elites.
Sniper teams (3)

Troops.
Veterans (9) - Auxilliary grenade launcher, grenade launcher, demo charge and vox

Veterans (9) - Plasma gun, demo charge, vox and shotguns

Fast attack.
Drop Sentinel - Multi-melta, extra armour and search light

Grand total: 502 pts.

This seems oddly familar. Oh, I found it...

Kaori Kapoigne
I don't need that. Mac is a wimp and my knee has destroyed his kidneys before 4laugh

Never before I'd joined this guild have I met a man who had been hit in the kidneys so many times as you.

Anyway, I've been thinking about doing a winter camo army. I've been looking over forgeworld and saw the death corps and knew I had to include them in my army. I just wish that the forgeworld models weren't so outragiously expensive.

Hey, I have a question. This is more of a modeling question, but what does an altar to the Emperor look like? I'm trying to make a chapel for my Guardsmen, but don't know what a right altar looks like. Any pictures/descriptions will help. Thanks!

Go to your local church and copy-pasta that. Or you could read the Uplifting Primer.

The altar could be a simple upturned ammo crate with a cloth draped over it or a floating pulpit for the priest to spout his crap from.

That, my friend, is what the illegal organ market is for. But seriously, just get some and tell me that it wasn't worth the kidney. I can gurantee that you'll love the models themselves and love the finished package if you have atleast a little above average painting skills. My advice for the Krieg: Don't get the Grenadiers unless you have the patience of a saint. The wires that connect to the hellguns are the Devil himself... Damn you Old Scratch!

I'm going to pass a law to quit the constant complaints of the prices of FW products. If you think it is too expensive you're probably either too young or not committed to getting it.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 27, 2008 4:31 pm

You should have it punishable by organ removal...
And I don't care about Forgeworld's prices anymore, I've gone completely over the deep end trying to finish up my Krieg. That reminds me... I need more infantry... Lots more infantry... Specifically, infantry platoons... and veterans...
Otherwise I have a perfectly well oiled machine that can function in a standard game of 40k. Just... not enough infantry... Forty non-command squad/ Ad Mech/Inquisitorial men is just not enough to throw at masses of enemies.

Who knows, maybe FW will release new Death Korps infantry squads to tie in with their sixth Imperial Armour book. We already have engineers so extra infantry squads could be viable, especially seeing as the infantry platoon is the only troops choice in a Krieg siege regiment.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 28, 2008 2:06 am

I wouldn't put it past them. And the Krieg line seems to be a big hit, so new variants would be viable. And I'll take any excuse to increase the size of my army and acquire versions of models I don't already have.
Also, I've been plotting about getting the Gorgon infantry pack as a
cheap(er) way to get a hold of DKK infantry, but I don't know anyone who's bought it so I don't know if it's viable. If it is, I just need a large bag of round bases...

Apparently, Forgeworld has just put up super-heavy tank conversion kits of the Stormsword, Stormblade, and Shadowsword for preorder For those of you who want one but are cowards and would rather convert one with this kit and the baneblade plastic kit that comes along, rejoice! I nearly would, but they don't look nearly as good as their compeltely Forgeworld counterparts...

I like the conversion kits, they look good. The tiny voice in my head is screaming for a Stormblade, as the Plasma blastgun is mighty good.
