...
Anyway Shock according to The Draco, Nightcrawler's father is Azazel, aka Satan. And from what I understand, Demons and Angels are really biblical mutants. In fact, at one point in the story, Warren attempts to use his bloods healing powers on Kurt, but it burns him, thus proving Warren to be an angel and Kurt to be a Demon. Both of which though, are merely alternate titles for ancient lines of mutants.

Or that Austen is one of the worst choices you can make when you have to pay attention to cannon. This is the same guy who said Nightcrawler has two penises and used "exploding communion wafers of doom" as a plot device. Everyone I know has chosen to utterly disregard the entire sordid ordeal, and from my understanding, Marvel is going to as well. Austen's hyper anti-religious views were too much for the public to take, which is why he was subsquently fired from the book. And from Marvel. And from DC.

blaugh I'm an equal opportunity reader all the way. *steals a look at her bookshelf* Ok, so my non-american collection is maybe triple the size of my american collection in amount.... but still, as far as collected series go, they're about equal. sweatdrop

I'm more of a small press/vertigo kind of person myself. I like off beat series to the main bulk, and while I do read the occassional manga, a lot of it hasn't interested me lately. I think the only one I've bothered to read the whole way through is MARS. The rest just don't hold my interest long enough (although Petshop of Horrors is only incomplete because I haven't had the fund to finish the collection). I recommend everyone at least try Lucifer. It's ending soon anyway and will all be available in trade. Most of it is available that way already.

in my earlier years here in the states, comics influenced me greatly with my foray into illustration.. tho in recent years, with my renewed interest in anime, manga has crept in to do much of what comics still do for me.
the first manga that i remember reading here were the montly installments of zelda: a link to the past in my friend's old nintendo power mags. i remember lookin forward to each new part more than the prospect of new cheat codes for my old games. whee
these days, i still own many more comics than i do manga, but im an equally big fan of both mediums. 3nodding
now, with all that said..... only the sith deal in absolutes. *peers curiously at meriko* stare
