Devvri lunged into a roll that ended up being a crawl as she flipped herself face-up into the ditch. Saws whirred past, from the unseen robots just beyond the edges of the clearing.
Robots could not be sensed by Kira, because they held no life energy (I think that's plausible). Rosa, when she arrived, would be able to determine the location of both of the robots. Just two of them. Each was a mobile station for deploying the self-navigating saw blades, on either side of the clearing. They held every kind of sensor imaginable, and a wide range at that. These particular models did not hold any anti-robotic equipment, however. They were meant to deal with Eseptians, who did not use robotic technology. They were meant to battle magic. (So to speak.)
They were not easily destructible, but somehow, the writer of this post thinks that Rosa would in some way manage. Keth was still nowhere to be found. The screams did not cease, either.

((Well, SPI, you obviously didn't.... surprised ))
Kira followed after Devvri, unaware of the robot-things nearby (Even though saws just shot themselves at Devvri). "Wha-" Kira started speak up, but instantly shut up once she felt a sharp pain in her back. She fell forward onto the grassy ground, eyes wide and alert. A large, bloody gash in her back revealed where one of the saws had reached her. Okay, this time Kira wasn't exactly so expressionless, this time she was cursing rather audibly in frustration (Which Hiddochi finds rather funny for such a so-called 'divine' being). "FUKRU!!!"
Kira tried to pull herself forward with her hands, to get out the way of any more saws that might fly...
((Yeah...short post....but Kira cusses! FINALLY! rofl ))

Devvri immediately abandoned the safety of the ditch to crouch over Kira. Her sword and shield wielded, Devvri fended off attack after attack of saw blades, suffering a scrape or cut every now and then. Eventually, one saw seriously wounded her, too, cutting a hamstring and barely avoiding Kira at her feet.

"Yeah, well, what did I ever do to 'Cosmic Irony' to deserve THIS!?!" Vexis continued to whine, assuming that Jad could still hear her. Since obviously Marth was too 'mature' to be bothered with her useless complaining.
~~~
Another loud crash! could be heard in the distance, a second crater formed into the planet's surface next to the one that RD left behind earlier. Rosa emerged from the crater, still perfectly unharmed by the impact. If nothing else, Kira sure as hell knew how to build a robot that could withstand powerful crashes. Especially when the android was flying down from space at almost 550 miles per hour.
Rosa caught RD's signal again, and sped off in that direction. Kira would be nearby RD, and so Rosa used her duplicate as the tracking unit.
~~~
Kira stubbornly stood up on her own, determined not to let Devvri get hurt because of her. "I'm sorry..." She murmured, and forced herself to stand beside her ally.
But Kira's determination was a fatal mistake.
One final saw blade had managed to reach her, cutting deep into her chest.
Everything ached terribly, then became numb. All the noise around her, and then the silence.
Kira was...lying down on the ground now? Up in the air? On her side? She couldn't tell...everything was blurry and dark.
She caught only one last glance of the clearing around her, and in the distance, she could see the brilliant gold and crimson of Rosa.
"You came...Rosa..." Her own words were faint and hard to hear, even amongst the silence. Time had stopped just that moment, but continued on once Kira's heart slowed down to almost nothing, her breathing stopped.
Rosa's pure green eyes were fixated on Kira for quite some time, she held that very same calm expression that her creator did, in life and death. Eternal.
A saw came flying towards Rosa, but she caught it with little effort in the palm of her hand, and then threw it back into the trees. Rosa just watched as many trees fell in halves, waiting to 'see' her opponent behind them. The android glanced back at Kira and Devvri briefly, but immediately focused on her opponents again, the saw-chucking machines.

The trees concealed the two killer saw-launching droids. If trees were cut down (the saw wasn't even a third of the width of these dead trees), then the droids would be visible. And, with their bluntly idiotic attack protocols, and no defensive algorithms against other robotics, they would simply continue to attack the humans, ignoring Rosa. For now.
Devvri immediately tossed the saw away from Kira, whom she was lying across the ground adjacent to, and applied pressure to the wound with one hand, while groping in a pouch on her belt with the other. Soon, a rag drenched in an unidentifiable liquid was used to smother the wound, and among the chemicals was a pain killer. Among other things.

And her final words were... "(( xp I didn't think of the technicalities....I BLAME YOU FOR NOT DESCRIBING THINGS WELL ENOUGH PREVIOUSLY!!! scream *pokes zfatal continuously to annoy him*
I thought the saw blades were like, foot-long or bigger.
You need to describe things a bit better! gonk I'm lost on the planet that you created! XP )) " And then...she faded to darkness.

((It's just endless, blackened, charred ground, with dead, charred patches of forest. And some trees. And a big, walled city in the very distant... distance. What else is there?
The sky is normal-colored. There is no moon, but another planet in the distance reflects enough light to serve as one. Stars are usual.
There is no plant or animal life.
So I failed to describe a saw-blade adequately. They could still rip apart dead trees, with enough force. Which I'm sure Rose has plenty of.
DANG. Now I want to continue Xenosaga again, and I have to finish FFX! xd ))

((Ah, okay, so I DID mess up a bit of detail there... xp
Annnnnd, it's time to start the intro to a new conflict that will come into play sometime within the next 200 pages... ninja ))
"It's growing nearer...the time of awakening and vengeance..." The woman's voice echoed through the dark cavern, but somehow...seemed silent in the infinite darkness. "The time that my power will reach it's maximum level, the day that I will permanently prove my superiority over you..." Nomiko lifted her head slightly, almost as if she were actually talking to someone, a dark, torn cloth covered over her eyes. "...Vexis."
~~~
Vexis almost seemed to flinch just then, at what seemed like nothing. Her expression was almost panicked, her indigo eyes wide and alert. She moved away from the window quickly, surveying the room with caution. And of coarse, nothing was there, other than Marth and Jad's many freakish robots, that is. Vexis felt herself shaking a bit, her knees were getting weak and unable to hold her up. She backed up against the wall, and let herself slide down it until she was sitting on the floor. Vexis' muscles all tensed up, her eyes looked almost kinda....glassy. "I-it's coming...she...Nomi-" Vexis started mumbling, not really forming any particular sentences. What the hell was wrong with this freak? Was she like, having a seizure or something? At any rate, only time would tell. Either that, or else Marth or Jad would notice and throw the freak out into open space to die.
~~~
Rosa ran back towards Devvri and Kira, trying to fend off any saws that flew their way. RD eventually found it's way through the dead forest, and stood beside Rosa to aid. Rosa seemed to send off some sort of order to her duplicate, judging by how RD took over the saw-catching duty (which was much more difficult for this android than it was for Rosa.) while Rosa turned back to Kira and Devvri.
Rosa silently reached into a storage pack at the side of her waist, and pulled out the little syringe containing the blue 'Symustein' drug that she got from Victor.
"Here, once you're finished with that, please give this to Kira." Rosa said Devvri, her voice gentle and calming, very similar to Kira. She held out her hand containing the syringe to Devvri, her movements clear, but also seemed to falter in a very realistic way.
After handing over the strange medicine to Devvri, Rosa backed away from them and turned back towards her opponents. "RD V.1 will guard you from any oncoming attacks, though she may miss a few..." Rosa explained, glancing over at her duplicate briefly, "And I will eliminate the threat myself."
Rosa's wings unfolded from her back, their sharp metallic 'feathers' gleamed in the limited light. The android sped off back into the dead trees in a sudden burst of energy, the feathers on her wings acted like blades, cutting away everything that stood in her path.

Devvri applied the medicine without question or hesitation. "Wait," she called out, too late as Rosa left. "Is this going to keep her alive...?" If not, then they would have to hope that Keth was still alive. He may then have been Kira's only hope....
The robots remained stationery, unmoving as they launched saw after saw. Originally, they had just been reflecting the saws off of each other, like one large game of Pong, but now that the saws were being intercepted, more were launched; many more. These robots were very durable and strong, against the saws and against low-tech weaponry. They had no means to attack Rosa, and as such would probably ignore her altogether, even if she punched a hole through one.

((@_@ That took longer than I expected...*just finished attempting to draw Rosa on the computer* It didn't quite turn out as well as I had hoped, but here's an idea of what she looks like...(With her wings out) [X] )) Kira remained the way she was, pale, still, silent. Except for one little symbol that suddenly appeared on her forehead, it looked like an upside-down triangle with three smaller triangles within. Basically, the symbol was identical to Axion's logo, except that this one was upside-down. Probably Exias' logo, if anything.
Thin strands of golden energy made their way up Kira's body, highlighting where every one of her blood veins were, and all connected at the base of the Exias logo. Most of the Novias energy concentrated around Kira's back and chest, where her wounds were. So far, nothing was being recovered, though... ~ RD tried it's hardest to deflect the saws, but they were starting to come way too frequently now. One of the saws pierced into the android's face, sparks started to fly. But yet, somehow RD still managed to block a few more saws, before finally breaking down completely. ~ Rosa stopped about 150 feet away from one of the robots, and tried to shoot it with just a simple handgun. No luck, the bullets seemed to just fall off, not even leaving a dent. So, she tried to alter the gun slightly, this time it would fire thin laser beams. Still no luck.
Rosa sensed that RD had shutdown, that was both good and bad at the same time. Now, Rosa could get the extra panels and weapons back from RD to form more powerful attacks, but on the other hand, Devvri and Kira were also unprotected.
Rosa concentrated on RD now, disassembling it from this distance. ~ RD fell apart into a heap of disconnected wires, panels, and weapon sections. Not long after, all the little parts started to be magnetically dragged in after Rosa. Wow, handy, a robot that can break on command!~ The golden energy faded from Kira's skin, completely disappearing. All that remained was the logo on her forehead.
Wait...was the wound on her chest closing in on itself? Like, regenerating? Gradually, everything was repairing itself.
The Novias energy returned now, only this time -it formed a dome around both Kira and Devvri. Protecting them with it's purity. ~ Rosa used RD's unharmed sections to form her gargantuan Flare-Cannon gun, the rest just returned to their storage areas within Rosa. The android held up the big black gun, it's structure was bigger than Rosa herself. At the end of the gun was the ball of fire and electric energy charging up, until Rosa shot it, straight towards the saw-robot-thing.

The robot disintegrated, or exploded, or... whatever a robot would do in a mega-flare. The saws stopped flying altogether. The second robot was still intact, but, for whatever reason, it had stopped... as well. Something else had happened....
~
Blue again, and with a bright, white glow no longer, Maggie existed under the Novias shield. Whether she had gone through it or under it, was not clear. Maggie possessed a pure heart... but a bent, twisted, warped soul. Thanks to her captor.
Maggie's eyes were a very dark indigo, and, much like Kira, her veins, or something very similar to them, pulsed with light every now and then, causing a curious vertical column of light to run vertically through her body every few seconds. The light was white, but not illuminating. The world was still its dark, burnt crust, illuminated by nothing.
And the obsidian blade was between Kira and Devvri, equally distant to both of them and yet close to both. When she spoke, Maggie's voice was cold and uncaring. Impartial, even.
"Disassemble or deactivate yourself, or they die."
