He placed the mug on the table. She now had a free hand, and should be good to drink. He held the book tightly against his side, looking down the hall. He had though he heard a small shriek. He looked back to Nyl. "What happened to your arm?"

She waved her free hand dismissively. "Demon hunters." She picked up the tea and drank it, visibly relaxing once she had. "It was dark, for the most part. Raining. For a while it was a fight by flashes of lightning, hoping I'd see something. Once I got inside, it wasn't any brighter. Neko was right - easy to find, near impossible to steal a book from." She grinned dryly. "But I've learned from the best thieves."

His small footsteps could be heard, as he ran in the kitchen, paying no attention to Seph and Nyl, as he grabbed a chair, and began to push it to the counter. He wanted more chocolate, but where to find some? He was only four years old, and not to mention, he had only met Kaimen.

Seph caught the joke, but something inside him wasn't letting him react to it. Maybe it was the child that had just run across the main room. There was nothing really in the kitchen a child could use to hurt himself. Knives and other sharp objects were stored safely in a cabinet. "I see managed to steal it, though." He looked at the cover of the book.

The girl hid there, scared, and soon, peeked out, and slowly got her head out of the covers as she shook in fear. She heard anouther noise under the bed as she hid again, then thought... bad men! They must bed under the bed... She did the little trick Mr. Sephiroth taught her. She condesed that wierd energy thingy to her belly, and thought of one of the couches in the main room as she soon let go of the energy, appearing in seconds in the main room. She looked around after a momment, then saw Mr. Sephiroth and Ms. Nyl! She got up and ran over to then quickly, obviously upset. (( Nuuuu! Toshi ruined my post!! crying ))

"Yes. Did you doubt me?" She offered him a half-grin, then leaned into the back of the couch, eyes half-closed. "Sorry, Seph. I tried to come back without leaving you a mess to clean up..."

"Not at all." He said to Nyl, looking down at Syoku. He smiled and lifted her up. "Hey, kiddo." He said, holding her. "What are you still doing up?" He looked back at Nyl.
"It's okay." He said to her, "You probably should have called me when it got thick. Then again, you're never one to ask for help." There was a spark of amusement in his voice, but as quickly as it had come, it had gone.

"It didn't get thick until I already had the book and was leaving. A whole group of them caught me just outside. ...None of the group remains, of course." She sighed. "By the time I'd regained my senses I was most of the way here. So I just kept going."

Toshi sighed, finding nothing really, as he jumped off the chair leaving it there, and then hopped to the Main Room, looking around and cocked his head to the side blinking in confusion. He saw Nyl, and then Seph, and then Syoku. Blinking some more, he put his little hands in his pocket.
"Oi! Miswter? Mwiss?"

The girl hugged Mr. Sephiroth as he picked her up, still scared, "I was in a woom and there were noisewess Mr. Sephiwoth... And..." She hugged him again, this time not letting go.

Nyl looked at Syoku with a gentle smile. "You were in Kaimen's room, Syoku. Noises just sort of...happen, in there. Nobody was in there who could hurt you."

"Of course." He said, then immediately turning to Syoku. "Calm down, kiddo. Noises, in the room.." He looked down the hall, then back at Nyl. Then his face turned to the new child. He shook his head some, closing his eyes. Noises. Nyl. New kid. Neko. He was trying to put all of this in a proper order to be sorted. "Yes?" He said, to the boy at the kitchen door.

"It scwarry, Ms. Nyl..." She squirmed, then slid behind Mr. Sephiroth, her head poking out the other side to look up at him with a grin. "Dwid you see new boy-boy?"

He looked down at Syoku, then back at the boy. A soft smile graced his face, but didn't last. "Yes," he said, managing the smile, "she's fine." It faded as his mind wandered to the identity of this child. "What's your name?" He asked the boy, running a hand through Syoku's hair softly, comfortingly.
