*hugs Manda*
I really think that all of the GPG mods do a great job. Once in awhile (but not often) I don't agree with the threads that are locked, but I like that the threads in here are kept pretty streamlined. It makes it much easier to find the important threads. I really appreciate all the work you do to keep things running well around here.

.___. You know, being a mod just really stinks sometimes. It's just like being a cop. Regardless on how you do your job or how hard you try to make things better and to uphold the rules, people just hate you. I'll be fine, just needed a second to get that out in the open.Oh I'm sorry people give you guys a hard time, sorry if I ever have (or anyone I know wink ). You all do such a great job.

Oh I know Manda. I mean, it's super hard being a mod adding to the stress on top of the RL stress. It's not that we do things because we're power hungry but to make things more efficent and easier for us to keep an eye on, I've seen forums where it's just a madhouse and it's not fun.
Sometimes it's just an uphill battle kind of day. sweatdrop

*Gives the Crew some stiff drinks.... and some not-stiff drinks for the preggers ones*
I'm sorry things are not going smoothly. And it does suck when others see you as a cop or power-hungry or ego-tripping. But I just wanna say also, that my Crew just doesn't hap-hazardly do things. They discuss things out with me and each other before things are done. We have group meetings via another board AND chat programs where we all discuss things in dept and come to GROUP decisions. We never just idley toss out a verdict on something.
We collectively make a lot of effort in keeping this place going. We all take time out of our RL schedules to have meetings and discuss things in the guild.
While I was gone, I have heard that things got a bit hairy, so now that I'm back, I have upped the enforcement on thread-locking and other such things, so if anyone wants to blame someone about that, then blame me... not my Crew. They are doing a great job as far as I'm concerned.
I try to post warnings and PM people about infractions, but if something doesn't get done about the clutter, then it'll just continue to snow-ball.
All me and my Crew want is for this guild to run smoothly, have a nice atmosphere, and be easy for people to post in and read in. We're not interested in hurting ANYONE'S feelings, or picking on ANYONE. We always try to be fair and judicious when we make these decisions. We also try to remain as objective as possible. So I hope that no one EVER takes what we do as personal.... 'cause everything we do is for the good of the guild. Period.
So everyone, please be kind to the Crew. They all have a huge job and they always try to do their best. If anyone has any problems, please do feel free to take it up with me at anytime. I am always checking my PMs and I always answer as promptly as possible.

Oh! I got a new kitten! I might not be able to keep him, but he's just sooo cute! I have to see how my other cat and dog already act around him. So far, no injuries. If we keep him, his name will be Icarus.

I want a kitten so freaking bad; it's not funny. but, josh keeps saying no because we don't have a lot of space for the litter box. and if the owners find out we get one, we'll get an extra $25 put on our rent.

Wow, unfair for kitty lovers. I'm still worried though. Illusion(my cat) keeps hissing.

Now did you just throw this kitten into the mix, no introduction period, or did you give your other cat a chance to get used to the kitten's smell first and slowly introduce them? Cats will hiss because they are territorial and while it's easier to introduce a kitten vs. a full grown cat, you still need to follow a set way of doing it so that things go more smoothly. And the hissing will continue for DAYS, maybe even weeks depending on the cat.
But if you haven't done so already, and hopefully you can start over. 1) Keep the kitten [new animal] in a room by itself with no actual physical contact from the other animals. 2) Take something that smells like each animal and place it in the room with the others. So take something the kitten was in for the other cat to smell and vice versa. 3) Allow them to sniff and paw under the door, but no contact yet.
This first part should take a good 1-3 days.
After they seem comfortable with each other's smells, THEN allow the kitten out, but supervised, and still expect the hissing and then go from there.

I let him get his smell over stuff in the room Illusion occupies the most. She hasn't tried attacking him...He's with my mom and our dog (who seems to like playing mommy to the 2 month old kitten)

You know, I used to watch the local barber's pets when he went onf vacation as a kid. His cats were potty trained...you heard me ROFL! All I had to do was feed and flush. So perhaps you could tell your hunny you will potty train the cat so you don't need a litter box. rofl

Lol makes me think of Meet the Parents.
Yeah, I used to be a cat person, but with my husband allergy to cats, it put a huge damper on that. That and once I became pregnant, my cat HATED me and I didn't want to take the risk with toxicplasmosis. Not that I was irresponsible with the cat or he was nasty, but I think he ended up with a better stable spoiled home with my ILs, but I sure do miss that mean a** b*****d.
Now my dogs it took about 3 days for them to really be chummy like they are now. Deuce is very needy and once he realized that he's the "alpha" and that I gave him attention first, things worked out. Although it really depends on the pet, I think. I had to keep the puppy in the crate and always be VERY careful that I was there to hold the two back with leashes if needbe.
