Luca smiled. Yeah, more things than wine. But the burny feeling alcohol left in his throat wasn't altogether pleasant. Different yes, and it certainly warmed you up. "So he and Maia are together now?" he guessed. He hadn't thought to ask after them; things Lori had been on his mind. "Sounds like fun. You can introduce me to your friends."

"Yeah. I mean, he refers to her as-- yeah. They have." Lori went through a series of facial expressions and gestures all ending with a dismissive wave of the hand. They hadn't announced it or anything, but it was obvious.
"Sure, yeah. What about us?" He smiled and raised his brows, clapping his other hand over Luca's.

What about them? At first Luca was confused by the question. What did that--oh. Oh! Lori was asking if they were officially together. The red head put his free hand on Lori's, smiling at him.
"Yes."

Lori grinned. Good! So he could introduce Luca as his boyfriend and it'd all make more sense as to why he'd bring a random person. Toby was always up for new people, though. Hopefully he'd be a good sport.
"Good. I'm glad."
The server arrived then, delivering a beautiful long square plate with gorgeous sushi and ginger, wasabi and decorative tasty sauces. Their noodles came on the average plate. Lori let Luca's hand go and clapped his hands together.
"How brave are we feeling? Shall we start off easy?"

Luca was so pleased that he almost missed the server's arrival due to staring. They were official. And Lori had wanted to be! And this was wonderful. He pulled his hands back and studied the plates before him.
"Start off easy?" he suggested.

Lori unpackaged his chopsticks and pointed with his free hand. Pointing with your chopsticks was rude, after all.
"That'd be this one. Totally cooked, nothing scary. The sauce is just a little bit spicy."
Dinner went off without a hitch, and Lori was in even better spirits than usual. When was the last time he could ever say he had a real boyfriend? If anyone was staring, he didn't notice or care. The pair left hand-in-hand to head back to Luca's place, and Lori suggested the redhead take the wheel this time around.

Luca kissed Lori's cheek when they reached the car, and then climbed into the drivers seat. They drove a long ways, stopping in front of a small apartment complex. Luca parked, pausing to smile at Lori. "C'mon. It's the second to the left."

Lori got out of the car and admired their surroundings. He had been lucky enough to not live the apartment life for very long after moving out here. He didn't mind it, not really, the neighbors were nice, but he preferred the privacy of a separate house. He followed Luca closely but didn't steal his hand. He was well aware of the ceremonial fumble for the apartment keys.

Luca pulled out his keys from his pant pocket, taking Lori's hand with his free one. "I was thinking I'd save up eventually for a nice house," he said. "But the longer I wait the more expensive they are." He opened the apartment door and gestured for Lori to go inside.

"That's for sure," Lori said. He took Luca's hand again easily. What would his neighbors think? Hopefully they wouldn't care. It was a different world nowadays, but this was Arizona. Granted, he really couldn't complain. Ireland had only just decriminalized homosexuality twenty-three years ago. If he was Toby, he'd be asking the man to live with him. Hah.
He entered the apartment and took his first look at the inner workings of his new boyfriend's abode.

Luca's apartment was certainly well lived in, even if it did have the air of being "company clean". The place was practically spotless. Everything was orderly, except for the bookshelf. The books were leaning sideways as if a few books were missing.
"Want to sit down? We can set up Netflix and watch something."

"Sure," Lori said with a smile. He waited for Luca to gesture where he should sit, exactly, and then did. "You've got a nice place here. Where's your remote?"
He'd give Luca his Netflix information. They were official, weren't they? He laughed openly at himself and shook his head.

"Oh, thank you," he smiled. Lori's house was nicer, but undoubtedly an fbi agent was paid more than a librarian. Luca sat beside Lori, offering him a remote.
He blinked at the other elf's laughter. Was he being made fun of? Was Lori happy? "Did you think of something you wanted to watch?"

Lori nodded and then leaned toward Luca. "What do you like?" Maybe they should watch something he knew was good. He could test his tastes against Luca. Or maybe they should both be unaware so they could pay more attention. Lori desperately wanted to touch.
"Pick a genre."

Luca scooted closer to Lori, considering. He didn't really care what the genre was, honestly, he knew hos focus was on spending time with Lori rather than whatever they'd be watching. "Action?" he suggested.
