[???: Black Pearl: Mast>Deck]

As the boe user’s foot connected with its face, he’d feel the metal surface of the half mask resist the impact, and even as the creature was sent back, it recovered almost instantly. It shook off the kick like it was unaffected, or perhaps it simply didn’t care.

Its long bladed arm dug into the wood, scraping and splintering the surface as it rebounded and as Joe so fervently asked; IT brought it!
- but first-

The light of Dawns magic outlined her frame as she moved the air around her, and not liking what it was doing to it's movements, the Nameless reached out with it's hooked sword and smacked her legs right out from under her. Then with it's bladed hand it reached out and grabbed her leg sinking it's taloned fingers deep. If she screamed, it would savor it.
With one mighty yank, it tossed Dawn across the deck, aiming her body to fly right into Jacob and Kyle. It's strength was daunting, the throw alone could have broken something in her leg as it threw her like a rag doll.

Once that was dealt with, it turned it's assault upon Joe.

Thankfully; with the influences of both Jenny’s Haste Magic the Nameless agility and Joe’s were matched for now, but it was still slightly faster- he needed more help. It skidded right back at him, leaving hardly any reaction time to think as it unleashed a flurry of violent slashes at any part of Joe it could reach. As it continued to attack, more bindings were appearing on its body, there was an unmistakable sound of things grinding, tightening, like leather being twisted so hard it gave that crunching squeak from the pressure.

Bringing its sword arm up from the right, it tried to hook Joe’s staff, and pull him closer so it could sink its razor taloned fingers into his tender abdomen. To get a better angle at his body, the Nameless own contorted so it’s back bent right over, while it’s sword arm pulled, obviously it was trying to throw Joe over head so it could stab him from beneath.

[Dawn : Black Pearl : Deck]

Dawn's feet continued to move quickly over the deck as she continued to let her effect wash over the ship. She was unprepared, however, when her legs were knocked out from under her. Before she could react or move away, her leg was grabbed. She let out a startled scream as she was sent flying. Her mind went blank. Even if she was caught by someone she was going to be unresponsive for several moments, due to the sheer shock of being thrown like a rag doll, and the pain that was going up her leg.

[[Louis : Black Pearl : Main Deck]]

The arcanist strained his eyes trying with all his might to focus the blurry images in front of him as his calls to the others failed. They're too panicked to organize... damn it.

Anthony asked what it was, Louis hesitated to answer and finally replied with, "I... honestly don't know. This thing... it's not like anything I've seen before now. It's like a heartless but- what?"

Louis interrupted his own hushed speech with the slightly louder exclamation as he watched the creature seemingly fade out of existence and become one with the black around them, then reappear above. Louis continued his commentary, but only now more like hastily thinking out loud, "It's like a heartless only it's capable of disseminating it's body into the darkness entirely. Unlike the heartless that dwell IN the darkness, it's as if it IS the darkness. Like it and the darkness around us are one. Yet it only moves through it. The darkness doesn't move with it, which makes me think it isn't the actual source of the darkness blinding us but there's no way I can even be sure about that. Nothing about this is natural... it's scream, it's powers, even the way it moves... it's not normal. How are we even supposed to touch it? It moves faster than anything I've seen and simply disperses it's body when we have a chance-"

At this point, Joe, as he'd been identified by the screaming and the way his shape moved, planted a foot right in its face. Louis' face twitched for a moment as the thought ran through his head, I can't believe that worked...

Louis continued to watch as it turned away and went after the dancer, "Dawn!" He screamed trying to warn the girl, she being the only one he imagined would be dancing in battle, but it was already too late. The girl flew across the deck as the monster continued on its rampage, "Crap..."

"We're being picked off one by one... Anthony, if I yell out 'now' I want you to swing your fists 360 degrees with everything you've got. Don't worry about me. Just do it, understand?"

[Noelle ~ The Black Pearl ~ Deck]

When a second attack never came Noelle got back to her feet, eyes closed, her bare toes still feeding her messages about the entities standing on deck. She was trying to collect herself and make out who was who. Kyle's position was obvious after he'd stunned the creature, she could make out where Joe was from hearing his voice, and Sora from where he lay (he obviously being the injured one in their party). Dawn screamed, causing Noelle to tense and search for the faint deck-contact where her voice came from--but her scream seemed to travel, making it difficult to find her. Frustration rose up inside her. They were just getting picked off, and because she couldn't see, she was of absolutely no use.

"We're being picked off one by one... Anthony, if I yell out 'now' I want you to swing your fists 360 degrees with everything you've got. Don't worry about me. Just do it, understand?" Noelle heard behind her. She stood up straighter and looked over towards where she felt their feet on the deck.

"Louis!" She shouted, recognizing the voice, "Over here, it's Noelle!"

[ Kyle : Caribbean : Black Pearl ~ Deck ]

Kyle heard people talk over the charm, and even some people talking out loud, but wasn't in the right mindset to send understandable messages at the moment. His blood was pumping, his muscles were tense, and as he walked forward through the Darkness, all he could think of was Who the bloody f*** dared to do this to them.

His violet eyes scanned the area as he continued to move forward. Jacob moved in close enough to be seen by the light, as well as close enough to see Kyle's enlightened eyes. Suddenly, he felt that Joe was under attack; an odd quirk of the Command Seal he'd placed on the Bo-Wielder. Immediately, Kyle used the seal to locate Joe, and was about to head that way when there was a blur of motion- someone had been thrown.

As the Haste spell came over Kyle, he felt his speed increase dramatically- not that it mattered at the current moment. Dispelling his swallow-spear, Kyle held out both hands, and with a strength not normally his own, caught Dawn with relative ease, holding her up bridal style. He looked down at her, his piercing purple eyes going over her form- she was bleeding profusely from the wound.

[ Celestial Instincts refreshed. ]

Again, Kyle felt his heart accelerate, and with a low growl, he enveloped her wounds in Light. They healed over slightly, enough to slow the bleeding to a trickle, but Kyle's growl grew louder- the only way to heal her had been to take the damage unto himself, though it didn't manifest physically. Placing her down with nothing more than a grunt, he quickly threw his arm out in Joe's direction, and his arm seemed to flash somewhat as he cast a spell-

Joe would find that the back of his gloves glowed brightly as a Seraphic Heart symbol appeared on each. They weren't blinding, but they were enough to at least reveal a foot or so in either direction. Simultaneously, he would have felt his overall strength jump up dramatically.

[[ Kyle cast Virgo's Veneration {Bravery} ; Lasts 2 turns ]]

Almost directly after that, because the Haste spell made his casting time decrease dramatically, Kyle was able to cast a glowing Aura around Joe's entire body. He wasn't nearly as bright as Kyle was, but it was enough to cast a dim light on anything a meter around him. All of his physical damage would be Light-elemental because of this; they wouldn't do additional damage unless the target was weak to the Light element.

[[ Kyle cast Virgo's Vibrance ; Lasts 2 turns ]]

[[ Dawn told me the blow from the Nameless ripping into her leg would have sent her into critical health x_X She's at roughly 40% now, but the fact she was Critical at all made the passive refresh. ]]

[[EDIT: Oh, and I added some Heartless attacks to my last Ajora post, too.]]

{Kyle : Hawaii : Beach

A fierce smile grew on his face when he saw the Green Requiem vanish from the world. The smile broke when a ball of fire erupted on his back, knocking him off his perch on the sand and back to the ground. Turning back, he saw the Red Nocturne starting to form another fireball. As it shot out, he waved his hand and a wave of sand rose to protect him from the fireball. When he lowered it, he noticed the Pirate coming in to attack.

Parrying the strike, he stabbed out with his other katar, hoping to end the Pirate, or at least make it fly further away so he could move over to deal with the Red Nocturnes, as they were a considerably bigger threat to him.

{Hawaii .:. Beach}

Bobbi had managed to keep her feet from the surprise attack, and hastily formed a patch of her Frost Balm to cover her burn. She turned back towards the sounds of battle, the ocean tide splashing up against her thighs and making it difficult to stand. She braced herself and brought up Taulmaril, aiming at one of the Requiems about to attack Kyle, since they were closest.

Demyx cringed and backed away when the Requiem appeared before him. He kind of expected the little beast to throw a fireball his way, and while it wouldn't do much damage, he wasn't sure he could get a water shield up in time. Besides, he didn't really feel like dealing with burned clothing when all was said and done. But when the Heartless didn't do anything, he negligently water-bombed that one as well, and turned his attention back to the main fracas, making sure nothing else started coming his way.

{Auron : Black Pearl : Deck}

Auron had remained leaning against the railing near the stairs that led below the deck. His attention immediately became focused, his katana raised to his shoulder. As darkness fell upon the whole ship, obscuring all light Auron did not flinch, even as he heard the horrible scream, he was unaffected. Auron's eye did not leave the abomination as it began it's assault upon any and all who got in it's way. He needed to wait for an opening, and got it once Dawn had gone down. Kyle's magic caused Joe, the direct target of the Nameless to glow brightly, giving off enough light to make the horrid creature visible.

Due to the Haste spell, Auron was able to close the distance quickly, A deep red energy coursed through his katana as he attempted to bring it down upon the foe. If the Power Break hit directly it would decrease the creature's physical strength substantially.

{{Power Break: If Auron manages to hit it will inflict -4 to an Opponent's Physical Strength. -2 if the strike is Blocked.}}

[Michelle : Black Pearl : Deck]

{Cue: The Game Has Changed}

The sight of Kyle's energetic light show, plus his repeated roaring, was daunting and intimidating even to a comrade, especially since she had never seen it before and didn't know if it was 'normal' or an 'oh crap thing'. The Haste spell had no effect on her since she was already Charged Up through her own magic, but the sight of her sister flying through the air over her head did. Michelle was moving quickly trying to make it to the source of the screeching, she was passing Kyle and approaching the edge of his illumination when Dawn's unconscious form flew past. It made her gasp in surprise and then she went hot and cold, her blood was pumping but her mind was honed, someone had to pay. James was taken away, for now Dawn was the only family she had, and she was sick of people getting away with hurting her family.

[Will to Fight Activated]

As her desire to attack, to hurt, even to kill flared, the enemy she hunted was revealed. A few feet away a soft glow lit Joe and the creature that had dared to harm her family. Moving swiftly she channeled lightning into length of her blades charging the steel with raw magic and threw. One blade flew at the Nameless in a Thunder Raid while the other she kept in her hand, sprinting at the creature she aimed a Charged Strike at it's black torso the razor sharp curve of the hook dancing with sparks.

[Dawn : Black Pearl : Deck]

Dawn let out a groan of pain as she was caught by Kyle. Her head was spinning and groggy from being thrown. On top of the pain that was shooting through leg. She didn't notice the cuts healing, or who was even holding her. She let out a grunt of her own as she was placed on the ground. She placed her hand on her injured leg, wanting someway to ease the pain, but none coming to her.

~'Stay down, there is nothing more you can do with that injury.'~

"Damn it," Dawn hissed as she laid on the ground, trying to hold back the pain.

[Joe: Black Pearl: Deck]

The male lowered himself when he felt something fly through his wind, except it blew straight past, not even stopping for a quick hit or hello, and was humanoid in shape, from the quick read he got. Which, of course, meant either someone tried to run(rather, fly) away from the creature, towards where it thought the creature was going, or was being tossed around. He didn't like either option.

Suddenly it was back, the thing with the metal mask attacking him some more. Of course, Joe started striking back, the haste, bravery, and enlight spells coming in at the perfect moment for the fighter to keep up with the blows and deflect them away with blows of his own. However, with each blow he deflected, even with his new strength, another blow quickly came in, and he had to deflect it. It was ridiculous!

The creature, even though visible in the mild light Joe gave off, was sensed to slice at him...or rather his staff. It hooked around the staff, and pulled, the male being forced to move closer to the creature, but the clawed hand that tried to grab him was knocked away by a backhand strike, and the male shoved his light-aided knee into the creature's abdomen, mainly to knock it off balance, and then slammed his elbow into the creature's chest to attempt to knock it away. Like hell he was going to try to grapple with something that had a freaking blade for an arm.

((Didn't mention Auron's and Michelle's attacks, because I didn't know how Kyla was going to respond to them, soooooo yeah.))

Sayrike::The (Literally) Black Pearl

An unrecognizable girl surprised Sayrike as she suddenly appeared and alighted on the top of the central pole of the crow's nest behind her and Jacob. Before Sayrike even had any time to react, the ship became enveloped in total darkness, setting Sayrike on edge. She was taken back into her memories of when she stayed at her grandparents' house in Arizona, trying to fall asleep at night in the pitch black bedroom. It had been a two-sided coin; the dark was unsettling, and who knew what sort of horrors lay in the closet at the end of the bed, just on the other side of her imagination? And yet, the masking property of the darkness made for huge amounts of fun as she and her sister played games together and stalled sleep (while trying to avoid catching the attentions of their father who could hear their roughhousing through the vents).

Remembering this, Sayrike's fears were tamed, even when hearing the eerie screams somewhere on the deck below. Jacob had already jumped off as soon as everything had started. Sayrike, however, was a little more cautious and held back from immediate action. The flare of light from Kyle was clearly visible from her vantage point, though it was fleeting. The darkness seemed to have a thickness about it that made even the flash appear sluggish, and it did not reveal much of the deck below.

Some of the cries of her comrades reached her ears. Damn it. Whatever it was, it was using the darkness to conceal itself. Well, two could play at that game. With a little less recklessness than Jacob, Sayrike, too, climbed down, though she stayed on the ratlines for a moment while inhaling, calming herself and concentrating. The darkness was certainly a hindrance, but she could use it to her advantage as well. Not all of her energy felt replenished from the mirror ride earlier, but most of it was there. Summoning her three mirrors, Sayrike surrounded herself with them and masked all traces of her presence. Communicating through her charms to the others, she said, <> Hopefully she could stop that terrible screeching, at the very least...or maybe learn it. She could see a little bit more as Joe lit up faintly not too far away from her, revealing some of the battle that was going on there. It would be useful to learn a way to light up herself like that too.

Soryuju Ryutetsin
[ Hades : Underworld ]

"Eh, I don't keep paper copies. I got it all up here," he responded, tapping his forehead as he glanced at Elleon, as if seeing her in a new light. She was interested in deals, was she? Planning inevitably failures could wait.

"Your perky little twin was to help me get back Diablos, whatever the cost, and in return," he said, standing up straight while holding up and open palm. The bag of cookies appeared, with a burst of blue-and-black flame, and he opened it up to grab a cookie, biting into it mercilessly. He took the time to swallow the bite before continuing. "I was to grant her enough Darkness to get her underwear out of its perpetual knot. Why the sudden interest?"

[Elleon ~ Underworld]

Elleon supported her left elbow with her right hand, resting her right forearm against her abdomen. Her left thumb was pressing up against her jaw, which was balanced on it, pensively staring at the strategy table. When Hades finished her eyes flicked to him and the dark agromancer shrugged.

"It was a maddeningly curious detail that eluded me, is all." Was her reply. "Now, before I leave you to your own, are there any other noteable details of her labor in your care? Perhaps presumptions of her usefulness should she have pursued the path she was going down?"

{Leon : Hawaii : Beach}

Leon watched as the Neoshadows he had attempted to strike down simple phased back into the ground, causing his attacks to miss. He had never liked these Heartless, during his attempt at striking them down a number of other Heartless had been defeated and plenty more took their place.

For anyone left lost in their own memories, it seemed he could do nothing for them, something else would have to shake them out of it. His attention turned away from the fast Neoshadows and focused more on the mage and Pirate Heartless that were surrounding Kyla and Kyle. He charged forward and brought his gunblade down, unleashing the energy bullet as he pulled the trigger, hoping to destroy one of the Pirates.

[Anthony ~.~ The Black Pearl ~.~ Main Deck]

Anthony continued to desperately seek out his comrades in the darkness, his eyes darting left to right in the direction of the screams. It was like a scene from a horror movie as a character hides away in a closed off area, such as a closet, and overhears his or her friends screaming for help as the murderer picks them off one-by-one. As fearful as it was, it was equally frustrating. His attention was redirected to Louis as he began to speak.

"We're being picked off one by one... Anthony, if I yell out 'now' I want you to swing your fists 360 degrees with everything you've got. Don't worry about me. Just do it, understand?"

At first, the young man was hesitant... He simply stared at the other worrisomely, brows slightly furrowed, obviously not feeling okay with the idea of swinging 360-degrees without considering the other's safety. But he trusted Louis, which help put him at ease. The warrior-knight gulped and nodded in agreement. "Sure... you got it," he said, his fists curling tighter.

It was then when Anthony heard Noelle reporting her position, then Sayrike speaking over the charms, letting everyone know of her position and her plan. "Sayrike's hidden on the ratlines on the starboard side...," he whispered. "If I could swing hard enough, perhaps I could smack whatever this thing is in her direction and she could perform another attack. But it's your call."
