"Oh! Well," Kilik scratched his cheek. Now that the cat was out of the bag, it couldn't hurt to fill her in. "I know all about that Gyarados. I didn't know he was YOURS." He wanted to skip the whole topic of her 'nickname', despite the fact that it made her blush. It sure was cute. "I didn't really get to see the Gyarados, but I read the file. He's quite the powerhouse, if I remember the notes right."

"Alright," Kilik laughed, reaching his hand out and taking hers so they could walk down the beach. "I don't blame you. It is rather nice out. This is what I would've liked two days ago..." he sighed a bit, "Breezy, sunny, comfortable and not a Rocket in sight. But," he smiled at her, "I didn't have this alone time either at that Party. This is nice, too."

Cable looked over at Gardevoir and shook his head. "We're men, not savages. Then again, I can't speak for Aggron," the feline nodded his head in the direction of the dinosaur, "But we just finished a training session and we're in the mood for a real battle."

Mazarin had high spirits and it was difficult to knock him down. She could slap him around and shove him and belittle him, but that didn't phase him in the slightest. But when you began to make fun of his fashion sense...that's where he drew the line. "Look here!" he stomped his foot and pointed his finger at her again, "Teal works amazingly with black! It compliments the shades, the tones, and for your information, my Mommy bought this for me! So there!" He stuck his tongue out at her.

"And as for my wings, your boy-toy Mike burnt them to a crisp!" He frowned, "Just..." he flailed his arms around to simulate flames and then made a sizzling noise and crumpled to the ground in a heap, to symbolize his wings. He popped back up with surprising speed. "And that was that."

"Mm, now isn't that ironic," Mitsu replied with a short laugh. Though it'd have been a different story if I had found out sooner. You became a Rocket afterward. Still, I see the irony. Haha. She nodded, "Nightmare is pretty tough, though he's a big softie on the inside. Funny how everyone seems to think he's attacking me though. Mik--" she paused as her heart unconsciously skipping a beat as he took her hand in his, "Mike had the same reaction when Nightmare evolved too. He and Shiver looked ready for a fight."

The two walked down the beach, it was nice. She nodded as he spoke agreeing with it all. Though she had to admit it was slightly odd to think about them holding hands now when just a few weeks ago she was all but head over heels for Mike. But she agreed with Kilik, this was nice too. "I didn't know you were looking for alone time," she laughed, teasing him a bit. "Seemed like you were having a good time at the dinner with M.A.'s family to me."

Karri laughed, it was musical, and for the slightest second Mitsu swore she heard ringing bells. "Clever answer. I like it," she replied to the Electabuzz. "Can't say I'll offer you a battle, or Mitsu for that matter either." The Psychic glanced at the two humans walking up ahead.

"Mike?!" Sasha's hands shot from her hips to the boy's shoulders so fast her hair flew upwards. "Where is he?! Is he okay?! What did you do to him?" the girl's voice went from melodious to menacing in a mere second, her slender fingers nearly digging into Maz's shoulders as she continued to stare him down. "Jelejuresiquelquechosesepassepourluiàcausedevotrestupideéquipedechasseluijevaisvousmeurtre!" Sasha dug her nails deeper, shaking the boy in hopes the information would just pop out of him like a receipt at an ATM. "You better start talking now Maz." she growled, narrowing her eyes even more.

Kilik paused on the sand, still holding her hand. His hand tensed a little when she mentioned Mike. The image of his best friend losing his mind was forever burned into his memories. He looked down at their interlocked fingers then up at her face. "To be honest, a lot of people in one place bothers me. It's annoying. They're just good friends of the family..." He shrugged a bit, "If you noticed," he put his other hand in his pocket, "I didn't actually talk much. I just wanted to leave. But being here, with you," A smile spread across his face. "I like this."

His thumb rubbed gently against hers.

-*-

"Ow ow ow ow ow" he grumbled as her nails dug into him, "Look, the rapid French-fry language that you're spittin' at me isn't helping me!" He pushed himself off her, pressing his palms against her chest before he managed to get away, laughing like a kid.

"If you want information on you sweet Mike, you'll have to battle me for it!" He stuck his tongue out. "If I win, I get a date, a kiss, and not just one of those wimpy kisses on the cheek. Full mouth, baby." He winked at her. "Plus, I'll fill you in on what happened. If you win, I'll leave you alone forever. Sound like a good deal?"

"Stop grabbing my boobs!" Sasha screamed, swinging her hand at his face, but unfortunately hitting nothing but air. "And you'll get nothing of the sort from me! I'd rather make out with a Granbull!" The very thought sent a shiver up her spine; Maz, that is. Although the Granbull would be just as unpleasant. I swear, if he tries to kiss me, I'll knock his god damn teeth out. "The best you'll ever get is a lunch at a burger place, your treat, nothing more." With a flick of her slender wrist, a pokeball appeared in her hand. "That is, assuming I even lose, you bouffon." She released the newly nicknamed Ampoule, who was fresh out of the Pokemon Center and ready for another battle. A sly smirk played on the girl's lips. If this guy's mannerisms were at all reflected in his Pokemon, she'd have this battle done in no time.

Mitsu herself wasn't quite as phased at the mention of Mike's name despite the horrific events yesterday. As far as it mattered to her Mike was the Mike she knew, the chivalrous, kind, caring, and comedic boy she spent most of her time with when she was just a trainer starting out. The monster that was apparent yesterday certainly was Mike, though she simply forced her mind to think otherwise. Not that she needed to think about it, for it was far in the deepest recesses of her mind by now.

"You're not much of a people person are you," Mitsu joked, her mind jolting back to the conversation she and Kilik were having. "Though I have to say I feel the same way. Truth be told, the dinner was a bit awkward. And yeah, I did notice, you didn't talk much mostly because you were eating the whole time." She laughed, the laugh turning into a slight giggle before she stopped herself. Giggling was incredibly awkward, and she didn't want to be caught doing it.

"Mm, it is nice," Mitsu agreed, though she felt the need to yank her hand away as his thumb rubbed against hers. No, it was nice, it really was. Something just felt wrong about it. "I haven't really traveled with anyone in a while. Having company is pretty nice."

"Probably because you were so crazy about Mikey there just a short while ago," Karri offered with a nonchalant shrug, "Though who can blame you? Every girl pretty much has liked the guy. Not to mention he is pretty darn cute." The Gardevoir laughed, feeling no shame whatsoever. It wasn't the first time she's said something like that about a human, probably wouldn't be the last either Mitsu reasoned.

Riza inadvertently took a step forward as her small Pokemon was suddenly waist deep in mud, but she stopped herself. This was Ralts' fight, and the little psychic would have to get through this on her own. Even Sneasel jumped forward, ready to tear the Krabby a new one but Riza stopped her as well. "She can handle it," the raven haired girl said, trying to make her voice sound convincing. She was sure Ralts could win, especially with two moves that were very strong against water-type Pokemon, but she couldn't help but be worried for the little Pokemon. Ralts struggled to pull herself from the muddy tomb the crab had created for her, but could only flail her little arms around helplessly. "Okay Ralts since your thunderbolt needs more practice why don't you try a magical leaf instead?" Riza called out. If they could at least ward off the now very angry Krabby, then she could go and find a way to get Ralts out of that mucky mess, hopefully without getting too dirty in the process as well.

The small psychic nodded, though she still struggled futilely to free herself of the sticky mud that trapped her. She raised both her hands high in the air and her helmet began to glow with a sparkly green before a flurry of shimmery green leaves went flying at the approaching Krabby. As predicted they struck their target unerringly, and the crab winced noticeably from the super effective hit but it didn't stop moving closer, now raising its claw as it neared, ready to pummel the immobile Ralts into oblivion. "Teleport out of there, Ralts!" Riza cried fearfully, not wanting to see the little one get hurt. 'This was such a bad idea,' she thought, now giving the nod to Sneasel to get in there and help. The dark and ice-type didn't need to be told twice and she went racing in to save her friend.

Ralts looked over her shoulder as she heard Sneasel start racing towards her and she sighed, looking up in time to get a face full of Krabby claw as it bashed into her. It hurt like hell but instead of crying out she closed her eyes and concentrated on focusing her psychic powers into one specific point...and with a sudden burst of energy the Krabby was sent flying back thanks to a powerful confusion attack from Ralts, who in turn had started to glow with a very bright, white light. Sneasel stopped just short of her friend, blinded by the bright light. She held up a claw to shield her eyes, looking back only when the light dimmed, but Ralts was no longer there, stuck in the muck. Instead, standing quite gracefully on one foot and on top of the mud no less, her other leg held up like a ballerina, was a newly evolved Kirlia.

"Hello there, Darling," came the voice of the prestigious Lena Maguire, hearing the annoyance in her daughter's voice but choosing to ignore it. "You made it to Oreburgh in once piece, though I didn't expect anything less from the Jubilife Trainer School's star pupil," she added.

"Heh, yeah," Katie nodded, though her mom couldn't see it.

"So how was the trip? Did you catch anything?" It seemed to Katie that Lena was asking these questions in a practiced manner, as Lena had never been overjoyed at her daughter's wish to become a trainer, but being the supportive mother she was, she went along with it. She didn't quite understand the thrill in wandering all over creation catching and training Pokemon, but if that's what Katie wanted to do....

"It was actually a short trip," Katie said, realizing it was only getting on towards four in the afternoon, and she'd left home late this morning. "I never realized how close together Jubilife and Oreburgh were. And yeah, I managed to catch a Starly, though her colouring is a little odd."

"Aren't Starly usually a smoky grey colour?" Lena asked, glad that her Pokemon knowledge wasn't completely lacking. She did, in fact, own a few Pokemon of her own, though they were more considered to be pets than anything else.

Katie nodded again, though more out of habit than anything else. "Yes," she agreed, though decided to omit the fact that she had missed out on two grey Starly earlier that day as well. "Noa, my Starly, well, she seems to be a tawny brown colour." Both the Starly in question and Genki had followed her over to the reception desk. "Here, I'll take a picture for you," she offered, pulling out her cell phone and aiming it at Noa, who tilted her head curiously as the orange haired girl snapped a photo of her. She then sent it to Lena's cell, waiting until she heard the beep on the other end of the line and while Lena examined it.

"My, she's lovely, and Genki is certainly looking as spunky as ever," Lena commented, apparently seeing a bit of Genki in the photo as well. "Anyway, on to business. There is a reason why I called the pokecenter there in Oreburgh instead of your cell," she said somewhat playfully.

"I was going to ask," Katie mumbled, finding her curiosity to be growing. What could her mother want now? Was she going to try and convince her to give up journeying and come home? Katie gulped. "What is it, Mother?"

"Excuse me miss, here are your pokemon." Sam took Star from her arms, and with one hand grabbed Miles' pokeball. Star growled at it.

"Get used to it Star, you're not the only pokemon in the world." Sam walked back to Olivia. Struggling to hold onto Star, who was eager to meet the strange pokemon Olivia was feeding, Sam tapped Olivia on the shoulder and jerked her thumb towards the door. Olivia got up, bowed slightly, and poked Kazdan.

"Kaz come on we have a battle." Kaz jumped down and ran towards the door. He was running so slowly they could keep up by merely power walking.

"Why don't you just carry him?" Sam said, glancing towards Olivia. She laughed.

"He weighs way too much! He weighs more then 200 pounds!" Sam nearly dropped Star.

"You're kidding! How can he weigh that much?! He's tiny!" Olivia shrugged, smiling widely.

"He IS the baby form of Snorlax." Sam had to admit, she had a good point. The doors opened with a whoosh, and they stepped out into the sun. "Cmon, lets go to the park over there."

"Okay you ready Star?" Star got her game face on, and barely nodded. She was in the zone, pumped up for a battle.

"Mud!" Olivia, standing about 20 feet away, was kneeling, whispering to Kazdan. She stood.

"Lets start!" Sam smirked. Her confidence was back.

"Star, Water-Gun!"

"Kaz, Metronome!"

Sam did a double-take. Metronome?! That move was so unpredictable, no wonder she had lost! Star expelled the jet of water, which hit Kazdan's belly. Soggy food dripped out from under it's fur. Sam raised an eyebrow, and surpressed her gag reflex. Olivia smacked her forehead.

"At least it provided some padding," she said as she rolled her eyes. Indeed, Kazdan seemed to have felt nothing. He followed the orders of his trainer. His paws glowed and his eyes became trance like, and suddenly the air was filled with hundreds of rose petals. Kazdan twirled through them, directing them towards Star. They struck with agonizing pain. Sam turned around to punch something. Of all the luck, Star gets stuck by petal Dance! A freaking Grass-type! Star took the move hard, curling into a ball to avoid the death petals.

"Star, use Mud-Slap! Try and get a few good moves in there!" Star looked up, crying from the sudden onslaught. She half-heartedly kicked mud in the Munchlax's face, doing little damage and not reducing the accuracy enough to prevent the next blow of Petal Dance. This time Star tried to avoid it, but she couldn't outrun the petals. They struck true, and slid on the ground. She tried to struggle to her feet, but she couldn't.

"That...was brutal." Sam thought it was over, then she remembered the pokeball now clipped to her belt. She smiled. "But it's not over yet! Maelogan, time for your first battle!" She threw the pokeball over Star's head. While Maelogan emerged, Sam removed Star from the playing field. Kazdan, his move having finished, now staggered around confused. It didn't notice the white fluffball charging towards him, and by sheer luck was spared the Low Kick Miles had aimed at him. Miles now proceeded to charge at Olivia.

"Miles, no! Don't do that!" Sam ran to save Olivia from Miles' rage. Miles heard her, and quickly changed course. This girl was the one who had captured him! She had taken him away! Had humiliated him and had taken his prize! He needed revenge! He aimed a Low Kick at Sam's shins, which she jumped over. She was already gettting used to it. "Miles, stop it!" She fished the chestnut out of her bag, and handed it to Miles. He immediately stopped and sat down, happily eating his now-peeled chestnut. Lucky for Sam, Kazdan smacked himself in the face in confusion instead of attacking the now-peaceful Miles. Miles stood back up, having finished the peace offering. Kazdan shook his head, and snapped out of his confusion.

"Back at square one..." Olivia said. Sam, taking her spot at the end of playing field once again, panted and held a thumbs up.

"Miles...Low Kick"

"Kaz, Metronome again!"

Olivia's luck wouldn't hold forever. Miles landed a good solid kick to Kazdan's belly, the super-effective attack dealing even greater damage with Kazdan's weight factored in. Kaz's attack, however, was a dark ball of energy fired at Maelogan that dissapated around him. It knocked him back a little, but not much. Olivia sighed.

"Dark Pulse isn't very effective against Fighting-type...We'll try again, Metronome!"

"Miles, Low Kick again!" Miles, much faster then the Big Eater pokemon, quickly landed a kick to Kazdan's face. It cried out, and held it's face. It's paws glowed again, and the trance like eyes returned. This time, large purple glowing cuts emerged from his head, critically hitting Miles. He flew back, the Psycho Cuts following, and battering him. When the barrage ended, Miles was left fainted, and Olivia hugged Kazdan, who was still holding it's face. Sam bowed her head, and returned Miles to his pokeball.

"Well you tried little one. We just need to train more." She walked over to Olivia. "That was a great battle! I think you can easily defeat Brock...if you get lucky. Metronome is kinda risky, don't ya think?" Olivia smiled sweetly.

"Yes, but it's the only worthwile move he knows. Plus, it's fun sometimes. You never know whatcha gonna get." Sam made an agreeing noise, then paid out the winnings.

"You deserve it. Well lets go get our pokemon healed."

Kilik looked over his shoulder at the Pokemon Center then felt his stomach grumble. He let go of the girl's hand and placed both of his hands on his stomach, nearly doubling over. "You mentioned eating and I just got incredibly hungry!" The boy turned around and started heading towards the Pokemon Center. "Let's get some food," he said, motioning for her to follow. For one, he didn't want to feel awkward around her anymore so getting away from any flirtatious activity was one way to do it, and two, he hadn't eaten since breakfast all of four hours ago. He was so very hungry, and he supposed that Aggron and Electabuzz could use some food too, and a nice rest from their training. To avoid having such a lumbering behemoth walking through town again, Kilik recalled his Aggron and attached the ball back to his belt.

Cable had caught up with his trainer in no time. Then, in the blink of an eye, he was back to walking with Karri. "For the record, I would like to battle you one day. Just you and me, mano-e-womano." He put his fists up and some electricity sparked from them. Not on purpose - it was some of the pent up energy he had from training with Aggron - and when it happened he immediately put his hands down. There was a quick zip and Electabuzz was back at Kilik's side.

-*-

"Ah, Ah, madam-o-zell!" Mazarin shook his finger, "We shouldn't battle in this building. It looks so nice and new!" He dashed outside, towards the Bike Path, and dug his feet into the dirt. "Now out here, this is where it's at! Besides," he shrugged, "The wind makes my scarf flutter, and I think that's awesome." He patted his sides and pondered what exactly he should use. He slapped his forehead. "The choice is totally obvious! C'mon out, Shiftry!"

The boy tossed the ball, rather show-offy, into the air. When the ball burst open and Shiftry landed on the ground, both trainer and Pokemon assumed a similar pose. "I'll start things off with...ooh! Fake Out!" Mazarin snapped his fingers. The Tengu Pokemon moved swiftly over to the Lantern and lifted his fans up into the air, then brought them down right on the Water-type's face.

Milo stepped outside the Pokemon Center, staring into the dark morning sky. It was dark, but the slightest hint of light was poking out from the treetops. He looked down at his PokeNav: 5:03. "Hm." huffed the boy, not too thrilled with having to wait. As to not wake up the entire town, he decided he would do his training a little farther off. Route 120 was as good a spot as any. He stuffed his hands in his pockets, shivering slightly at the cool breeze in the air. "It's too damn cold here." Milo mumbled.

As he walked along the grassy path, a few images flashed in his mind. This was the place where Mike and Winona caught his Kecleon. If his heart wasn't a spiny armor-plated nightmare, he would have felt a bit of nostalgia at the thought. But, unfortunately for the fleeting memory, Milo could really care less. After a bit of trekking, he found a nice spot. It was far enough away from the main city to tear it up without anyone being jolted from their beds. Milo snapped the two Pokeballs and Ultra Ball from their holsters and enlarged them. "Let's get this over with." he said, releasing Nitro, Titanium and Proton. The Pokemon all stood (or floated) around rather stiffly, figuring from their trainer's expression that his bad mood hadn't worn off quite yet.

"Alright listen up," Milo began, taking out his sheet of scrap paper. "I've found out that recently, Pokemon of your species have been found using strange new moves. I brought you out here to help you learn these moves." He added a pause, making sure to make eye contact with each of them. "I do not think I need to repeat my expectations."

They all shook their heads.

"Good!" Milo clapped. "Now let's get started." He pointed to Nitro. "You, you get this new move called Fire Fang. According to the description, you just build up a bunch of fire in your mouth and bite down on the opposing Pokemon. That doesn't sound so hard now does it?" Nitro snorted indignantly. Of course it wouldn't be hard. He opened his mouth, and was ready to take a deep breath before Milo cut him off. "Ah ah ah! Not so fast." He waved his finger accusingly. "You think practicing on a tree or something will work? No. Use it on the snake." Titanium perked up, confused. What?

Nitro hesitantly took in a deep breath, flames swirling around in his maw before dashing forward, his wings spread wide. With a loud roar, the Charizard opened wide and bit down hard on the Steelix. Normally he'd figure chomping down on metal would hurt, but the flames somwhat softened the impact on his teeth. Titanium clenched his teeth and uttered a low, angry growl. Ow, ow, ow. Nitro released his grip, spitting out a bit of molten metal that broke off during the attack. Training battles were one thing, but he didn't even give Titanium time to ready or defend himself. Mike's behavior was getting out of hand. The two Pokemon looked at each other, silently agreeing.

"There, wasn't that easy?" Milo said, looking back down at his notes. "You're up next, snake." The boy nodded to Titanium, without even looking up from his paper. "Rock Polish," he said in a rather dry voice, like a tour guide a week before quitting. "By streamlining your body, it raises the users speed immensely. Not an actual attack like I'd hoped for, but it'll certainly help speed you up." Milo lifted his eyes from the paper, staring at the Steelix.

Titanium took this as his order. Hm...streamlining his body, eh? The Pokemon slammed his entire body into the ground, driving his spikes into the ground. The force of the impact almost nearly caused both Nitro and Milo to fall over. With a big smile on his face, Titanium then proceeded to rapidly spin his segments without spikes. It sounded like a large drill, and the the Iron Snake's body began tearing up dirt and mud in every direction. A few moments later, Titanium detached himself and lifted up, noticeably smoother. With a happy grunt, he swung his tail around, quite pleased with the results. Milo raised a curious eyebrow as he watched the Steelix move about with much more speed and precision than before. "Maybe it wasn't totally useless after all." he said to himself. "You're up robot. Magnet Bomb."

After relaying the same type of message to Proton, the Magneton began to shake wildly. He swung a magnet forward, which came loose and rocketed towards a nearby rock. It stuck to it, despite rocks not being the most attractive things polarity wise. After a few seconds it glowed a bright white light and exploded, taking the rock and nearby foliage with it. There was a crackle of electricity in the spot where Proton's metal appendage used to be, and moments later, a new magnet floated in its place.

Milo let out a sinister cackle. "Ooh-hoo-hoo! An explosive that sticks to an opponent regardless of magnetic attraction, and has a timed charge, giving the enemy just long enough to know they're doomed, but there is nothing they can do about it. I love it! Mehehuahahaha!" Once again, the boy was impressed by the Magneton's unwavering obedience and power.

Milo continued to train, the sun rising slowly in the sky. Before he knew it, it was about time to get started. His PokeNav read 7:34. Milo recalled his Pokemon and looked back towards the Gym. An ugly, evil grin creeped its way to his face.

"Hhn-hnn-hn-hn-hn-hnn...PLAY TIME! HAHAHAHAHA!" laughed Milo as he ran towards Fortree.

Keegan felt some of his confidence return to him slowly as he watched the Aggron struggle to get back to his feet, and he knew he'd just bought himself some very precious time. He somehow got the impression that even though the hunters' Pokemon were quite strong, they weren't packing full teams. He could only pray that he was right. He glanced over at the bull as it managed to slam its body into Helios, glad that the burned-status was keeping its tremendous attack power down. Even still, he wanted to turn the tables on this battle and fast, and with a bit of a devious smirk he turned to Themis. "Themis, I want you to use Flamethrower... on Helios!" he commanded firmly. The Manectric's head turned sharply to look at Keegan questioningly, his eyes growing wide as the redhead nodded in confirmation. Themis simply shook his head, now fully believing that Keegan had lost his mind - attacking his own teammate and friend? Ridiculous! Nevertheless, Themis did as he was told and quickly opened his mouth to shoot a jet of fire at Helios, hoping that the Ninetales wouldn't return the favour afterward...

...and then watched with surprise as the flames danced and swirled around the fox elegantly before they were seemingly absorbed by his nine beautiful tails. "Now Helios, Heat Wave!" Keegan called, also beckoning for Themis to get the hell out of Dodge, and fast. The Manectric backed up quickly, now smirking a toothy grin as he realized what was about to happen. He should have known that his Flamethrower wouldn't harm Helios! The Ninetales seemed to mirror Keegan's excitement as he again prepared to use his favourite and by now, trademark attack. Each tail wavered like they all had minds of their own and a fiery glow encompassed the fox as he reared back and let out the most powerful Heat Wave Keegan had ever seen. The blazing waves of heat obscured the battlefield and even Keegan had to back up so that he wouldn't be burned to a crisp in the process. When it was over Keegan saw the Tauros slumped over, legs twitching ever so slightly. He looked over towards the Aggron, hoping to see the same sight but growled angrily when he saw that it was virtually untouched by the flames. "What?" he roared, even as the second thug recalled his charred Tauros.

"Protect," the first thief said nonchalantly, though Keegan could see beads of sweat trickling down the sides of his face and the redhead instantly knew that his previous thoughts had been correct, and with that last attack he'd been very close to ending this fight. The black-haired thief simply smirked at Keegan before he nodded once. "Iron Head," he snapped quickly. Somehow the paralyzed Aggron had pulled itself to its feet and was now glaring at the two Pokemon in front of it, and once it heard its orders it rushed forward with a surprising burst of speed, lowering its head and smashing into the unsuspecting Themis for a soul-rattling hit. Type match-ups aside it had been a critical hit and Themis was down for the count. Keegan stared, awestruck by the display of power he'd just witnessed. All at once his courage failed him and he could only stare stupidly at the unconscious Manectric while the Aggron prepared to end Helios as well.

There was one other thing on Miharu's mind, though she tried to relax and hold onto that feeling of contentment, and it pertained to the adorable Flaaffy and gentle Pinsir who were sitting nearby, chatting to each other. The two of them were not nearly as tough as Miharu's four other Pokemon, but that was only because they were the two newest additions to the party and weren't as experienced when it came to battle. Not yet, anyway, and Miharu was hoping to change that. She'd like to see Sparkle and Petunia in an official gym match, especially since Sparkle always tried so hard, and Petunia was so... spirited. The team finished up their cool, sweet treats and Miharu called them all into their respective Pokeballs, very much unsure of what to do next. "It was easier when I had the Goldenrod City gym match looming overhead," she murmured, hopping on her bike and beginning to pedal north, back in the direction of Ecruteak.

It seemed like she knew this route too well now as she picked the easiest route to get out of Goldenrod City with, and within half an hour she could see Ecruteak in the distance ahead of her. She'd been pedaling pretty hard and she was really feeling the workout she was giving herself, but she didn't stop, not even when she reached the city. The Tin Tower cast an eerie shadow across the city but Miharu didn't really notice, not even when she passed by the same place where she'd won her HM03 Surf yesterday. It was a little trickier for her to get out of Ecruteak but soon she'd found the West Gate, the same one she'd chased the bike thief through the other day as well, and once she'd stopped on the other side of it she dismounted her bike and folded it up, more eager to walk the rest of the way than ride. "Maybe we should do some training," she mumbled to herself as she started walking, though she hadn't taken more than two steps when one of her Pokeballs began to shake and suddenly Sparkle was trotting along happily at her side. "You'll never stay in your ball willingly, will you?" Miharu laughed, though glad for the company.

'I think that Pidgey would make a good addtion to my team.' Dakra thought, sitting down for lunch. It had been a few days since he had seen it, but he was detemined to catch it now.
"What do you think Sherlock? Should we add that Pidgey to our team?" Dakra asked his Cyndaquil. He looked up and nodded. "Well that settles it. Lets go catch him."

The two of them left the PKMN Center, and went off to find Pidgey. After searching for a few hours, they found him battling a bunch of Sperrow. It didn't look good. It was 3 against one as the Pidgey stuggled to fight back.
"Quick Sherlock, you got to help it!" Dakra said, throwing Sherlock at the Sperrow.

Sherlock landed in the group of birds. It looked around shakely. All the birds were angry, and were staring at him. The Pigdey hopped up to Sherlock and gave a painful smile.
"Thanks for dropping in. Care to help me out?" He asked. Sherlock just looked at him. He wasn't happy about being thrown into the fight, so the joke just made him mad.
"So little crybaby, your going to fight?" The Sperrows had aproched the two friends and were cackiling. "You sure you want to do that?"
"You bet he does!!!!" Pidgey said in confedence.
"Well...c-couldn't we j-just sor-rt this out ni-icely?" Sherlock pleaded. The Sperrow laughed. They jumped up into the air and blew a gust of wind, knocking both Sherlock and the Pidgey over.

"Sherlock, get up. Use Fireball*!!!" Dakra yelled, refering to the attck they had made up eariler. It was combining Ember and Tackle.

Sherlock nodded. He charged toward the Sperrow, when suddenly he was in the air. The Pidgey was lifting him up, and flying towards the Sperrow.
"What are you doing?!" Screamed Sherlock, trying to get lose.
"On my word, start your fire attack. I'll through you into it and at the Sperrow. Got it?" Sherlock hesitated for a moment, and then nodded.
"I'm ready when you are." He said taking a deep breath. They came closer to the Sperrow.
"NOW!!!" Sherlock breathed out the fire, and was thrown into it. The fire surronded him, and gave him strength. Flaring his back, he landed on the first Sparrow. The attack knocked him out, and he started to fall. Sherlock quickly jumped to the next Sparrow, blowing a Smokescreen in its face. It coughed and wheezed before it was smashed by Pigdey's beck.
"One more. Lets try something," Pidgey said as he carried Sherlock towards it, "Shoot a burst of flame when I throw you up, and I'll send it along with a burst of my Gust."
"But won't that just-"
"Do it." The Pidgey insisted, throwing him up. Sherlock blew out another burst of flame, which was blown along by a Gust. The Sperrow, seeing this, cringed and closed its eyes. It cracked them open to see the flame be blown out by the time it got to him. It started laughing, until it saw the Cyndaquil falling towards it, and a Pidgey flying up towards it.
"NO!!!!" Its screamed as they colided.

Dakra was speechless. The way the Pidgey and Sherlock worked together was amazing. He had to catch it.

Sherlock was falling. The ground was coming up fast, and he braced himself for impact...when he felt feathers and heard a groan of pain. He had landed on the Pidgey, knocking it out.

"Well, now is as good as any. POKEBALL GO!!!!!!!!" Dakra said, as he sent the Pokeball towards the Pidgey. It hit the Pokemon, turning it into a red light. The ball opened, and took it in. Landing on the ground, the red light was on. It shook once. Sweat started to form on Dakra's forehead as he clenched his fists. Twice. His heart started beating faster, hoping it would stay. Thrice. This was it...it would either be caught, or not...

Walking trough the somewhat small town, he carefully made his way to the pokemon center all the while trying to think up a name for his newly captured pokemon. Oh what he wouldn't give to be able to rename his Porygon. Honestly he had no idea what Turn A even meant and it was really bugging him. Going through the sliding glass doors of the pokemon center and heading up to the counter to the bubblegum pink haired nurse he pulled out two pokeballs and placed them on the counter.

"Hello Nurse Joy would you be so kind as to heal my pokemon for me?" He asked sliding his glasses up into his hair again.

"Oh of course I can. It will just take a moment, why don't you go take a seat." She said with a smile as she took his pokeballs to be healed."

"Hmm, I think I will." He commented as an after thought before he made his way over to one of the many lounge chairs in the room. Plopping himself down in one he leaned back and shut his eyes doing his best to keep his mind silent for once. Just when he was reaching that clear point that was getting and harder and harder to get to lately he heard a brash voice greet him.

"Hey you! Your a pokemon trainer right?"

Not bothering to open his eyes he just grunted in irritation.

"Ha! I know you are one I saw you give some of your pokeballs to Nurse Joy. You have some left so I challenge you to a battle!"

"Look kid, I really am not in the mood for a battle right now." He opened one dark eye and looked the kid over once before shutting it again. "Besides you look like you are just starting out, I would wipe the floor with you."

"Hey! You can't just say that! Come on! Give me a battle!"

"I only have one pokemon on me."

"Come on please!"

"No."

"Pleeeease! I won't leave you alone until you do."

Hmmm that presented a problem. All he wanted was a quick nap and maybe another smoke before heading off to see Oak. He would never get either of those if this kid kept bothering him. Plus he might follow him. That was defiantly a no go. "All right, you promise to leave me alone if I battle you?"

"Yeah I promise please Mr!"

Groaning he sat there another moment before pushing himself out of the comfy chair and cast an annoyed look at the kid. "All right lets go." Turning back to Nurse Joy he just pointed at the door and the kid before rolling his eyes.

"A Metang eh, nice choice bro. We're gonna have to be careful with this one Hitmontop, things could get dangerous. But that won't stop us!" At these words Hitmontop cried out in agreement, spinning aroudn in a circle to psych himself up. He remained unintimidated by the shining silver pokemon that hovered before him. is opponent appeared to have a less than adamant resolve, which could prove fatal.

"Challenger ready! Then let this gym battle begin!" The judge waved his flag and the battle was on! How exciting, getting to watch great gym battle unfold! He was only a bit sad that he missed the one that happened on the beach. Shouldn't even could if it's not in the gym, sheesh.

"Alright then, let's get this started! Hitmontop lets paddle in head first with Triple Kick!" Without a moment's hesitation Hitmontop let out a continuous battle cry as he became a spinning blur, racing towards the shining silver pokemon with his feet ready to deliver a furious blast of intensifying kicks. Hitmontop knew the exact location of himself on the field and his opponent, ideal for getting the maximum damage from his attacks with skill and pinpoint accuracy, efficiency to the fullest.

Karri laughed again, "A battle. Sure thing." The Psychic really wasn't looking forward to any epic battles, she was rather content with watching, but perhaps getting in a shot or two here and there wouldn't be so bad. She needed to keep her kick-a** rep in Mitsu's team after all. Once the Electric Pokemon was back at his master's side Karri felt rather bored. "Think I'll take a short nap," she said via telepathy to Mitsu, returning herself into her Pokeball. Sleep was nice, and she loved her beauty sleep even though she mentally scoffed at the idea of needing it.

"Well, food sounds good too," Mitsu said, laughing a bit as they headed back. She gathered her beach towel and other belongings before catching back up with Kilik. "Should probably shower. I'm covered in sea water and sand," she muttered to herself, brushing some of the dried sand on her arm off. Ick. I would love to get an actual tee and some shorts on too.

Moments later they arrived at the Pokemon Center. The pink and round Chansey held a tray in front of her. "I don't remember dropping off any Pokemon," she replied confused. "You sure you don't have the wrong person?"

"Ah! Not at all!" Joy replied rushing out of the back room. "Some black-haired boy with a Dragonite dropped it off for you. It's supposed to be from those twins," Joy paused, "And you! (She pointed to Kilik) should still be resting in bed!" With a slight huff she marched back to the counter followed by Chansey and the empty tray.

"Okay," Mitsu replied taking the Pokeball. A note was placed alongside the sphere, and she elected to read that first. It read:

" Hey MITSU,

Tate and I got this Pokemon from a friend in Sinnoh! He's a breeder, but he totally missed the whole, we-are-Psychic-using-gym-leaders-and-trainers. So well, we figured we'd give it to you. Nice kick off present before heading out to Sinnoh, huh? ( Xatu told us you were going. ) ANYWAYS, you need to buy a Psychic TM for it, because I said so. Hope you like the Pokemon.

♥ Tate and Liza "

"Guess I should find out what it is, huh?" she questioned turning the Pokeball backward and forwards in her hand.
