Infirmary, MMHQ
The medical team wheeled Larry to the medical room, and transferred him to a bed. Through experience, the medical staff had found that most technology higher than a stethoscope disturbed those from low-tech societies, most magics disturbed those from high-tech societies, angelic influences disturbed those with demonic backgrounds (there were surprisingly many of those) and bubbling vats of unidentifiable substances disturbed everyone. Therefore, the short-term patient's hall held virtually nothing but the beds. Only curtains gave Larry's bed any privacy. Larry would most likely be back on his feet in a few minutes anyway. Healing the knife wound was easy. There were dozens of devices designed to patch skin. Replacing blood would take a little time, but it would be a simple process as well. The boy didn't appear to have suffered anything that couldn't be fixed with a little rest, thought the doctor. She pulled up Larry's file on her computer again. He had been sent on the cat mission by Mr. Forgle. She sent Mr. Forgle a formal email explaining Larry's condition, and attached a personal note telling her grandfather not to worry, that the kid would be all right.
Of course, Mr. Forgle would worry. Inside of five minutes, he was at Larry's bedside, nervously wringing his hands and muttering to himself. "I shouldn't have sent him alone, what was I thinking, Emma, he should have had someone to keep him from falling..." His granddaughter tried to calm him down, unsuccessfully. At last she gave up, and let him pace until Larry woke up.

Yumiko moved first. She attacked him with such speed that Riku was barely able to block her blows. On top of that, his pocket began vibrating. He reached for his phone, but a low blow prevented him from reaching it. He jumped backwards, only to see the silhouette of a large object come flying at him. He looked back- and saw a Russian tank flying through the air. He dodged just in time, only to feel a sudden shock go through him. He fell over, the electricity still running through him. He felt something warm on his arm. He looked, and there was blood- but not his own. Yumiko struck him again, this time across the back. With what little strength he still had, Riku reached back and pushed a small button on his com set- the Panic button. At least they'll know where to find my body," Riku thought as he went unconscious.

Larry was stirred awake by the old man's worried tone. He was surprised to feel relief inside of such a small amount of time. His temperature had stablized, the slash on his arm was completely patched up and he wasn't even feeling the telltale loopiness of surgical medicine. If this place could heal him this well, maybe he could deal with the Falco comments. For a while, anyway.
Mr. Forgle hadn't seemed to notice his waking, so Larry opened his mouth to talk. His words came out broken at first, but gradually formed to words. "Hey. Mr. F, you can stop overdoin' it." he said with a small laugh before sitting up "I didn't realize we had so many competitors in the cat market. Least not ones as competitive as this girl."
Larry paused a second. The mention of the agent had provoked a brief memory of her. Visualizing in his mind the image of the armored female agent, her knife coming down on him while her eyes glared madly at him, he couldn't help but shudder. Even though he was trying to play it cool with Mr. Forgle, maybe do a little spin control, he couldn't help but delve deeper into the subject.
"Say sir, speaking of which..." he told Mr. Forgle "Would you happen to have some kind of uplink to the base network? I'd imagine this ain't the first time this has ever happened and that you'll probably have a database of known rival merc firms members, am I right? Cause right now thats all I can think happened out there, rival mercs."

The garage, MMHQ
Joel looked at the phone in disgust. "He's not picking up." He pursed his lips. Riku just didn't seem the type to go AWOL at the beginning of a mission. Just as he opened his mouth to speak again, the phone rang, as did Styxx's. "That's him. " Joel pressed the talk button and snapped the phone to his ear. "Hey, Riku, where are -" A recorded female voice interrupted him.
"Your attention please: [Riku] has pressed the panic button. Repeat, [Riku] has pressed the panic button. Repeat, [Riku] has pressed...
He hung up the phone. Almost immediately, it rang again. This time, the call was from Ops. "Yo." Joel answered the phone. "Yes. Who's attacking us? Have the Uroboros been spotted? How are the base defenses? All right, do something about the tanks. Prepare to seal off the weapons room. And keep me posted." Joel hung up. "We're under attack." he told Styxx. "Blitz, Zetsumi, and the Bear have been caught on camera. Our side is sealing off everything and preparing the main hall for an assault. If we want to be on the defending side of the barricade, we'd better hurry." Joining the few people trying to snipe tanks was another possibility, but Joel was much more of a melee fighter than a sniper, and he suspected Styxx was, too.

((Please, forgive me for the unusual length of the pause I took.... I plan to get back to fully usuall weirdness in a few position)) He woke up with a head the size of more then two times the height of the room. "OOh, that son of a samoan Prostitute! " He stumbled, and deccided to take an other attempt in making the room stop spinning by firmly grabbing the ground. He opened his eyes, and kept them open. "Man, these ******** swine! I knew from the start that I could not fully trust this b*****d. Hairy animals can not understand the essential decency of the white man! He crawled over towards the main towers, grabbed a blanket and a bottle of Mountain dew, and flipped open his laptop. He had no idea how he came here, why he was here, or why his head was hurting. But somewhere in his system, there should be some security camera records of what the ******** he did. He clearly remembered being in a ******** simulation....Having..... well, what the heck. Somebody would get hurt for that....

With his pronouncement about joining the base defenders, Joel turned to leave. A metallic whumping sound stopped him in his tracks. He turned, somehow already knowing what he was going to see. The immense garage doors had been dented inwards. That sound might have been a shell hitting the reinforced steel armor. Or, it might have been a fist. A very strong fist.

"Rivals for the cat mission?" Mr. Forgle asked, surprised. His thin eyebrows arched upwards. "We've held that contract for years, and we've never had rivals before. She's always been happy with us. I saved that cat a few times, when I was younger, you know? She said that she wished we had had met forty years earlier, and we had a good laugh out of that..."
"Sam, would you please bring us a computer?" The doctor, Emma, called into the back and interrupted her grandfather's impending speech. In a moment Sam, who was the same person who had made the Falco line earlier, came in with a spare laptop. "We're expecting casualties, so you'll have to move soon. But not yet," she added sharply to Larry. "You still have a few more minutes of treatment left." She and the other medics began checking, stocking, and refilling everything, making sure everything was ready for a sudden influx of wounded.

Larry looked at the laptop screen and went to the search engine. "Well if you don't suspect it to be the old bird, Mr. F, they must've been doing it for other reasons." Larry said, clicking on Rival Firms "After all, they did attach some kinda paralysis collar to the cat to keep it from running." As Larry spoke, he typed in the parameters. Female, 20-30, Middle-Eastern/North African, assassin, thief. He finished and hit 'enter'.
Just as he pressed the 'enter' key, it occurred to Larry that what he was putting in sounded like a dating service only with hired mercenaries as it's clientele. A small chuckle escaped his mouth before he started looking through the profiles. He completely ignored the textual explanations and focused on the faces of the mercenaries, most of them known terrorists operating in the middle east.
As much as Larry was finding on middle-eastern murderers and jihadists, he sure wasn't finding anything concrete. Not about the woman he was looking for anyway. He reached over to drink a glass of ice water, when finally something caught his eye. Rather it was a set of eyes that caught his. The picture was of a younger woman, barely into her mature teens, and her skin was much more innocent and pristine than Larry remembered. But as he zoomed in on her eyes, zooming in until the two of them were the only part showing in her visual dossier.
"... That's her..."
Larry zoomed out and maximized the textual dossier. After skimming over the important details, Larry was shocked to learn who he had just escaped from. "Darya Azhaar al-Hadithy." he said to the group around the bed.
The dossier read like an assassin's Bible, containing such things as: Believed to be a freelancer operating mostly out of the mediterranean-Africa area, suspect is to be considered highly lethal and mentally unstable. Has been connected to dozens of Eastern and African political assassinations as well as high-profile heists. Wanted in connection with the Malta Group, an Italian domestic terror organization dedicated to the breakdown of Italian infrastructure and the conversion of the government to a more authoritarian one.
Larry was getting quite an ulcer just from reading this and little more, but continued to read along. Until suddenly, he stopped when he came across something. "Hey, listen to this. Her dossier says that among her known mental tweaks is a string of anorexia throughout her life." Larry said "It's saying in here that her history of psyche-outs started in Rome when she was at a restaurante with her old man. He went outside into the street to start the Vespa, but she stayed behind a second to grab a few extra bites." Larry couldn't help but pause before going on "Someone in the street hit the gas instead of the brake, daddy flew through the air... Good God, Mr. F, she was only 10 years old."
So that was it. The psyche section concluded on the note of her father being dead from the accident and her mother dead from giving birth to her. Darya was forced to live with her aunt in Sicily with her two older sisters, during which she became increasingly aloof. Larry closed the laptop and laid back in the hospital bed.

Shadar began his walk back to the Ace. It was rather uneventful. "AHhhh." He tried to stiffle a yawn but it still escaped. "I wonder how Ace is doing?" He wandered. The aquatic teen shuffled back into town and went around. "Kinda boring, isn't it?" He muttered aloud. ((Sorry Y'all in Team Slithen. Its the end of school and so I got piled up on last minute projects and other crap to keep us busy and preparing for the school's final exams. But I'm back now, Sadly next week I'm disappearing again going to some stupid camping trip with our youth group. SO I'll be in an out. Oh yea forgot to mention, my best friend is moving out to wyoming so I'm trying to help out there as much as possible. ~Shadar Sorry))

((Ha. I'm good at getting myself disliked.))
Steven slipped to one knee in the entrance hall, ducking into a doorway. Clasped in his hands was his P-90; strapped to his back was an FN SCAR. At his hip he again had a 1911, and strapped to his thigh, the 92FS. A black military-esque utility vest was belted onto his torso, and in it were a pair of fragmentation grenades, as well as a pair of smoke grenades and a pair of flashbangs. Steven was set for a short but intense conflict.
He thought of asking someone what was going on, but as people rushed around, he decided that it would be easy to determine who was the foe here. Probably whoever would be breaking in the front door. Firing weapons. Or whatever was going on here. If he shot someone he wasn't supposed to be shooting, he'd make it up to them somehow. And again, he was sure it would be fairly clear who to put a round through. Either way, though he was waiting for the moment.

Riku was in a daze. He was unable to move, unable to speak. He could hear loud noises around him, almost like an army moving in. He could feel the rumbling as APCs rolled past him. He felt completely helpless.
Then he heard a voice. A woman's voice.
Riku, get up. This isn't how you want to die, is it? The Riku I knew would never give up like this. Riku. Riku.... the voice faded into a different voice, one crackling with static.
"Riku Kitai, if you are still alive, report at once!"
Riku snapped back into consciousness. He raised a finger up to his earpiece, and pushed the button. "Th-this is Riku. I'm still here" He tried to sit up, but fell back in pain. "Barely."
He reached for a small bottle on his belt; a rare potion meant for near-death situations. He swigged it down in one gulp, and then screamed in pain. His wounds steamed as they sealed back up, and he felt some strength pulse back into his body. He managed to sit up. That's the last of those potions I had, he thought to himself. Next time I'm wounded that bad, I'm screwed.
He stood up, and looked around. Sure enough, there were signs an army had been through there just moments ago. He looked up and saw a massive helicopter- a "Hind", if he remembered- flying towards the base. Then he heard the sound of a car behind him. He turned, and saw what looked like a Jeep with Soviet colors on it coming his way, a PKM machine gun leveled at him. He waited until it got close, then grabbed the passenger-side door and climbed in. He punched the driver and threw him out, then stabbed the gunner in the leg, bringing him to his level where he finished him with a punch that shattered his windpipe. He then took the wheel and began driving towards the base at top speed.
What he saw was a small army waiting for him. They were all advancing on the base. No damage was visible, except for some bullet holes. He swung up into the gunners position, primed the PKM, and opened fire. The soldiers in front of him, caught off-guard by an attack from their rear, fell as the 7.62mm rounds ripped into them. The vehicle crushed several more, still moving under it's own momentum. It crashed into a rock and flipped, and Riku was thrown from it. He caught himself in midair and came down upon a small group of enemies, slicing through their throats before they had a chance to fire. He placed his finger up to his receiver, putting it on constant-broadcast mode.
"Joel, this is Riku. Looks like we have some uninvited guests."

((I am back after going on hiatus to monitor my own thread. So much has happened while I was gone. Mainly the HQ being invaded... Any way, I will start posting regularly again. Sorry for the inconvenience Magiking.))
Sokato got up and paced around the room. "It's taken too long already. They should have met up by now." Sokato looked out the window, the sun just completely and the moon has risen into the sky. There where many stars in the sky, as the sky was lacking the orange glow caused by light pollution. The fire lamps are not as strong and not as numerous as the street lights from his own dimension. "I am going to have to start looking." He looked out the window for another minute staring at the stars. Afterwards he exited the room, locking the door and tucking away the key in one of his coats pockets.
Ace walked until he reached the city walls. The section was far away from the main gate. The buildings there where built almost right up to the wall. Looking around, Sokato confirmed that there was no one around. Sokato then looked at the wall and chuckled a little. He quickly jumped up and over the wall, doing a flip at the apex of the jump. He landed with a large thud, then took off running very fast. Ace takes off his sunglasses and starts doing a detailed scan searching for Reaper, Yue, and Rusty.
((Okay, now I am going to reintroduce the android who is at HQ. This time I am not going to forget that I posted for the android and I will continue to make posts for android.))
The Sokato look-alike had finished in the library and was doing odd jobs in Sokato's office. Mostly paper work and computing... A silent alarm was sounded, alerting different sections of the base of the attack. Keeping synced with the alarm system of the base, he is quickly alerted too. He jumps out of the chair and starts to formulate a plan. 'Well, the base is being under attacked by a small army complete with tanks and choppers. I might take some damage if I faced the army with what I have on me. I think it's time I use the heavy weapons.' With that in mind the android rushed towards the garage to use one of the many of devices of Sokato's occupying space in the garage. "Voice command: Prep the Mecha Suit."
In the garage, somewhat near Joel's position, two parking spaces split in half. They fold out revealing a hidden docking bay for the Mecha Suit. Unfortunately, the fancy sport bikes which happened to be parked there toppled over and crushed by the moving door. A hydraulic lift moves the twelve foot tall Mecha Suit above from its bay before rotating it into an upright position. It splits in half from the head down to the waist of the suit revealing the 'cockpit' of the suit. The Suit is completely black. It's equipped with a high power 85 caliber automatic rifle that has ammo fed from in from a compartment. It also has a fold out blade measuring about four feet long. It also has jet thrusters and a booster pack making it capable of flight. The android would be there soon to take his position inside the suit.
((If you do not want the android, I understand. Just tell me and I will delete that part of the post.))

(( Hey, nothin' against you personally, SirBayer. This is a drinking game, though. Someone asks what's going on, take a shot. Can't let sentiment get in the way.
The dumb part was taking all those shots. Those can't be good for an RP. ))
Garage, MMHQ
Joel broke out in a smile. "Then we'd better go out to meet them."
He had had the panic button pressed on two occasions, in a previous job. Both times, pressing it had been someone's last living act. He was relieved that Riku was still in action, and sounded unharmed, even. "Hey, where are you?" he said into the phone. A muffled whump put another dent in the garage door. "And can you see who's knocking on the hangar doors? I'd hate to waste this reception on mere infantry." A plan had been forming in his head. In a garage this big, stocked by people who were obsessed with having everything, there had to be a vehicle of mass destruction.
Another whump echoed through the garage - but this time, the echoes didn't die. Joel turned to see Sokato's mech maneuvering into position. With a final clank, it stopped, and split open.
Joel didn't know if this was just a coincidence, or if some techie was reading his mind, but either way it didn't matter. Joel loved mechs. Absolutely every weapon could be improved if it was attached to a mech. He jumped in, sealing the cockpit around him. The interior lit up at his touch, and he spent a moment familiarizing himself with the controls. There were several odd ports which appeared to be designed to plug into the wearer somehow, but he managed to work around those. Another whump, heard through the suit's audio pickup, caused the doors to bend inward alarmingly. They would come down within three hits. Joel hunted around for the suit's transmitter, found it, and plugged the phone into it. "Oh, and call me Groundwalker. This mission has officially begun." He switched to the external speaker. "Stand back, Styxx." he said to Agrotera.
The android's entrance was covered by another whump.

Mr. Forgle didn't know what to say. These sorts of tragic stories were exactly the reason he had become a zookeeper and not a mercenary. Every target had a story like this, and he could not imagine himself just shooting someone when they had been through something like that. After an awkward moment he sat down shakily on a chair by Larry's bed. He opened his mouth to offer some sort of comfort, but Larry wasn't the one who needed it. "That poor girl." was all he could think to say.

((OOC: You seem to look down on me because I almost got killed by a female North African assassin who was showing the ropes to a novice. I mean excuuuuuse me wink .))
"Well sir... Regardless of who she used to be, all that matters is who she is now." Larry was quick to say, just to reinforce his tough front "If she attacks me again, I intend to be armed and ready." Larry waited a second before continuing "I assume you ain't gonna give me any red tape or nothin'? Cause I'm either all in or I ain't at all, I don't want to be killed just because I'm still on my job interview here."
Larry gave the laptop back to Sam and stood up. Standing over at the foot of the bed, Larry crossed his arms and did his best to look at Mr. Forgle and Emma like a tough wiseguy.
"So what do you say, sir?" Larry asked Mr. Forgle firmly "I'm more than willing to continue working, but I need it official. Deal or no deal?"
