[Eh, I don't see how it will get to the pharaoh.]
Mariku went to the door, but skidded to a halt when he heard loud voices and footsteps approaching. He swore and looked around the room, spying a window. It was a bit risky, but it would be better than staying around here and waiting to get caught. Bakura seemed to be unresponsive in his arms, which was fine, since he would probably be getting in Mariku's way otherwise. "I don't want to meet her, I don't want you to start talking about that kind of stuff until later. Why is it so hard for you to accept that?" Atem was saying as he went back to his chambers. Seto was tagging along, insisting that he meet and consider some girl to have as royal wife. "Don't you know that it says in the Ma'at that the royal couple are to be partners together, both working seamlessly alongside one another? I can't work with some woman I just met, much less marry her!" "I'm not saying anything like that, Majesty. You don't need to rush things, obviously. But you need to give some people the chance to meet you. Who knows if you two can't work together? Shebi is a respectable woman who--" They had reached Atem's room, and the pharaoh pushed the doors open. Seto had stopped talking because he thought the pharaoh would dismiss him, but soon the two of them saw Nanu. Seto swore, amazed at the amount of blood, as Atem yelled and hurried to Nanu's side, to make sure she was still alive.

Nanu was barly alive. She was face down in a lake of blood. Her eye was still on the ground near her.

"Go get a healer." Atem said, looking up at Seto. When his priest hesitated, Atem grew furious. "NOW!" Seto jumped and then bolted, knowing that Atem would say that it would be his fault if she died. Atem rolled Nanu onto her back, grabbing the blanket from the bed and wiping the blood off, trying to find the source of it. It didn't take him very long to discover the empty space where her left eye used to be, and he quickly stuffed a corner of the blanket into the socket, knowing that the bleeding had to be stopped.
[There isn't much Nanu can do. Want to skip until later-- either until Mariku and Bakura get back to Rei, or until Nanu is patched up? It could be both.]

Later on the healers and cautrozed the blood vessel so it wouldent bleed. There was a patch over her eye and nanu was sleeeping.
Rei sat in akila's hut watching as femi and kek playdwith each other.

Atem had taken a seat next to Nanu as she rested, stubbornly refusing to move. Seto had stayed with the pharaoh, keeping him calm. Atem had been furious, first accusing Seto of doing this, and then later backing off of his priest. Seto had told the pharaoh that the most likely suspect was Bakura, and that he shouldn't have let the thief get away so easily. Atem wasn't sure whether to agree with Seto or not. Mariku couldn't believe how long it had taken him to get back to the hut, but there had been a few problems in getting back. He entered the hut without a word, feeling rather irritated. He sat Bakura down next to the door, then sat down in front of the thief. Bakura's hands were still stained in blood, and there was some on his face as well. Mariku pulled out his water skin, rinsing off Bakura's hands to get them clean. Bakura was unresponsive still, staring blankly at the ground, oblivious to the world surrounding him.

Rei looked over and let out a sigh "Bakura..." she said.
Nanu slowly started to wake. She jolted when she woke thinking bakura calmed but slowlycalmed. it was odd not having her right eye. it dident hurt because the healers had numbed the area.

Mariku let out an irritated growl as he turned towards Rei. "Just what is wrong with this guy, huh? I heard he was insane, but earlier... what he did... Does he hurt people for fun?" He had done his share of hurting others in the past, but only if there was a reason to. That girl, earlier... she was far younger than Bakura, obviously unable to fight back. What kind of person snuck away from his family to go torture someone like that? Mariku had considered, as he left the palace, just killing Bakura. To make him repay. But Bakura had been completely out of it, as he was now, and Mariku couldn't do it. It would be like attacking someone sleeping. Or maybe he had grown attached to the thief. Who knew? "Nanu!" Atem jumped up when the servant woke suddenly, and felt Seto place a hand on his shoulder. Right. He probably shouldn't hug her, in case she was in pain. Still, he was overjoyed to see her awake. "I was so worried. What happened?"

"I..I just woke up...And he was over me..." she said closingher eyes not wanting to rember any of it. She pushed herself so she was sitting up and wrapedher arms around herself.
"At times he has...Issues..." REi moved beside bakura thechildren fine just sitting thereand playing. She gently touched bakura'scheak looking in his eyes "Bakura...." she said "Do you want to tell me what happened?" she asked her voice very soft and gentle.

Atem shot a dark look at Seto, still thinking it had been the priest who had done this to Nanu. Seto rolled his eyes and walked away, deciding to let those two be alone for now. Atem reached up, brushing some hair from her face. "But... Do you think you'll be okay now? Do you want me to assign a bodyguard or two for you, just in case?" Bakura blinked, his eyes slowly focusing on Rei's. He pulled his hand out of Mariku's grip as the blonde continued to try and clean it, and reached up to take Rei's hand. The thief then shook his head, looking away. Mariku snorted, sitting back and crossing his arms over his chest. "I can tell you what happened. Bakura here snuck out and went back to the palace, just to gouge some girl's eye out. He was going to kill her, too, piece by piece. That's sick."

Rei looked to mariku "Shut up. Your should speak unless your spoken too" Rei said waiting to know from bakura not him. Bakura normaly had areason for things. She looked back to bakura gently holding his hand.

Mariku hmph-ed and got up, leaving the hut to go refill his water. Once the blonde was gone, Bakura leaned against Rei, hugging her tightly. "He's right." Bakura said briefly, the first thing he had said in a while. "I.... went back to the palace. The servant girl there, Nanu-- she had made me angry. When I couldn't remember. I took her eye, and I was going to chop her up into little bits. I don't know why-- I'm no better than them." Bakura said heavily, struggling not to cry. He didn't know why he was being so affected by all of this. Maybe it was the lack of control he had had over himself. Maybe it was because of how much the girl reminded him of Rei. Maybe it was because he knew that he could do the same to Rei one day and be powerless to stop himself. "It's okay, you shouldn't think about things like that now..." Atem said, patting Nanu's back and holding her close as she cried. "But let me just ask one thing... who was it?"

Nanu moved close to him. She felt safe with him around "T-That white haired man..." she said takinga minute to think of his name "Bakura..."
Rei wraped her arms around him gently hugging him "Bakura...I think I know what happened in the hut....somehow when I kissed you the bakura that dident rember and you...mixxed..like making one person...I think thats why your having...outbursts...."

"Ah." Atem closed his eyes briefly, sighing. Bakura. So it wasn't Seto. That was good; he couldn't have his priests trying to kill people again. "Don't worry, I can take care of him." That was all Atem needed to know for now; he could see about details later, when Nanu was feeling better.
"I know I'm not all me. I don't like it. I don't like not having control of myself." Bakura felt pathetic, sitting here in this hut and clinging to his wife, but he was still feeling shaken. "If that blonde... If Mariku didn't come, I would have been caught by the pharaoh. I don't want to know what the pharaoh would have done to me if he had seen me mutilating his girlfriend. He's going to have a search out. We'll need to leave. Leave this town, maybe leave Egypt. Or go into hiding. Until things die down."

Rei nodded thinking for a moment. "Do you rember a house that was normal up top but it has multible underground passages and rooms?could we hide there?" she asked.
Nanu gently clung to atem. She felt safe in his arms. Leaning up she gave him a small kiss on the cheak.
