arrow Burnt City: As soon as the girl showed a hint of movement, Aoi made bone spikes reach out through his upper body. She struck him and sent him to the ground, but not without some damage to herself. "Ahem." said Aoi, "You seemed not to hear me properly. I did not say that we weren't a team. I don't have to like you, but I can still be on your team, whether it is unfortunate or not. Cooperation and friendship are two very different things, but you do not seem to understand that." he explained, continuing, "As well, if you all died, I may very well fail, but I would have another chance, unlike you. Also, I didn't say that I couldn't put up with you, even though it may have seemed implied. You had yet to show whether or not you would be... One who I could be friends with, however unlikely." He stood up, retracting his small spikes. "Please, think before you take such rash actions."

He looked to the two students infront of him with an odd absent minded look, as if he almost did not understand the emotions that were being tossed between them. He did however, he just couldn't wrap his mind around how two people could dislike eachother so much after barely even meeting eachother. He stepped between the two, the same bright smile etched across his features. "Now now now, let's not fight okay? We should get along, co-operate, be friends, AND be a team. It's the way that we will preform at our peak right?" He asked with a smile, the white feathers on his back twitching in the gentle breeze as he stood there. "I am a little lost, since I haven't quite been here long enough to know what is happening at the moment. But I would like to find out, and since, no offence to you sir..." He said, turning to Aoi. "You don't seem like the type to want to become friends too quickly and have a chat about what's happening so I will respect that." He stated with a bow to the man and then turned to Tsume. "I can't quite say I know too much about you either, but I am Nero. You seem like one who understands the values of teamwork...might I ask you what is going on thus far?" He questioned, looking forward at the seeming leader with a harp.

((Sorry about the huge wait, I haven't had a chance to get at a computer in ages, let alone make a post. I've been having to help my brother get ready for college, and I was at AX. I should be able to post a lot more soon, though.))
Sarume bowed to the girl, then turned to leave the garden area. "Thank you very much." She walked back out into the town, and opened her parasol to help shield her from the scorching sun. She started heading towards the center of town, hoping that the soldiers and she herself were ready for what lay ahead.

Haka sighs, and raises her head, looking a wee bit derisive now, a lot like the way her mother looks when she makes a mistake in her lessons. She turns her eyes on the fighting compatriots and says in a flat, emotionless tone..
"For one who was prepared to place a blade of bone at the throat of a stranger, it seems to me you are ill prepared to speak of a person being rash, companion Aoi. You are just as impulsive, and you presume to lecture others, yet you are in the same position of rank as both she and I, and the rest of us present in this particular team. I may not think her actions were the most wise, but on the same token, you haven't made the most stellar decisions either. Am I the only one who has made decisions based on observation rather than assumption? We're young, but that doesn't mean we have to be have like juveniles. It's not befitting of a ninja, this bickering."
Haka stretches then, and sweeps a hand through her pale violet hair, looking all the world like she's damn well bored.
"I despise men; that much is obvious. Still, I'm forcing myself to work with them because that's what I have to do to survive. Why don't the two of you just sit down, shut up, and stop trying to outdo or lecture each other. Neither of you is suited to be a leader. One is headstrong, the other is apparently bipolar, switching on and off between rash and calm. I'll be honest..I'm quite frightened. But I'm not going to sit here and talk down to people like I'm superior to them. You put yourself on to high a pedestal, Aoi. Perhaps it's presumptuous of me to be lecturing right now, considering, but I've yet to see anyone here function as a unit other than Maizen and myself. I'm not fond of dying, but that's the path we're going down if this keeps up. First off, we don't even know the other's talents, we haven't chosen a team leader, we haven't shared information, and we haven't done anything other than flounder around. I may be as guilty of this as any of you due to my earlier fears, but..we need to sit down and get to know each other as a team, even if we don't become 'friends'."
Haka shrugs then, and folds her arms inside the voluminous sleeves of her kimono..

Blood dripped from her palm, but if the young girl was in pain, she didn't seem to show it outwardly. Instead, she went through a quick series of of gestures, reaching into her pack, and wrapping her palm. That finished, she glanced down at him.
"Che'. Now that you're on the ground, you're going to try and still act like you're above the rest of us? You said you'd have to be able to put up with us to know us. Do you not even remember your own words?" she went silent though, when Haka started speaking, before nodding slightly, and then turning, offering out to Haka the piece of paper she'd been given by Buki.
"This is what sensei gave me before I left. Everyone was so busy following the harper, and I just got a chance to read it, I was busy trying to catch up to everyone. I'm Tsume. Nice to meet you all. Sorry if I'm a little impulsive. Hypocrites just really burn me up," she reached back, scratching her head and smiling sheepishly, as Kiko chirped from up on her shoulder.

Nero was standing there, amazed that the people around him were like this with eachother. When he was young, and living in the village hidden in soul...long gone as it was now....everyone acted like a team, even if they weren't a part of a team, or they were in a different one. Nobody ever strayed far enough from ninja ways to no look at the whole village as a family, as one massive team split into sections. He could only offer up a smile as he contemplated how he could help things out....or if he even could. He had been partially ignored by Tsume, since she had said nothing when he asked her if she could explain to him what had happened, though at least he had learned her name.
He turned to Haka and he smiled, clapping his hands together and bowing to her. "You speak words wisely for someone only our age. I greatly admire someone who can also try and see past these differences and make an effort to bond a group of strangers...into a family." He said with a smile. "I do not understand one thing however, and that only thing would be why you could hate all men, just because alot of them are fools. I will readily admit that it is so, but you may find that having a bias on too many people for having something between their legs...you may overlook some of the people...who don't fit the bias you have upon them." He said, again, clapping his hands and bowing.
He then turned again, this time taking a step back so he could see everyone in the group, and for the last time he clapped his hands and he bowed to them all. "It is very nice to be aquainted with you all, even if your actions greatly puzzle me." He said with a laugh. "I am Nero of the Tenrai clan." He said with a smile, hoping that he could help out here, and maybe motivate others to treat this place more like a family, like Haka had just done. He could only hope that they accomplished that before it was too late for any of them. Without a solid team, in the heat of combat, nobody would live.

"The inner workings of the souls of Clan Gakkuri are made to fear and despise men. It's more than an opinion..it's rooted down in our genetics, and it's drilled into us from birth. You couldn't understand it..I won't bother explaining. The evils of men are well known to us; It is what our Clan was founded on..we slaughter them when they disobey, and use them as our horses when they accept their lot of serivtude. We have very few things we consider precious. The males of our clan are our slaves, and it's been that way for several centuries. Things sure won't change now. It's why Konoha only partially accepts us. They need soldiers..and our bloodline limit makes us able to disable the strongest wills. With our power, they have an advantage. We dislike serving males, but they protect us, too. We're outsiders. We're universally hated and reviled for our practices, yet our power makes us too good to get rid of."
She turns her head then, and sighs..though she does turn and take the paper that Tsume hands her..looking over it..
"The fact is, we're ninja. We're useful weapons. I will be loyal to my blood's ideals, as it is my duty. You know, I don't talk like this usually. I guess I don't get out much. This world is a frightening place. Nothing is certain, and it's scary. I'm used to having overseers watching my every move, and my mother constantly berating me and telling me what I've done wrong and what to do next to get tougher. She's always telling me I'm the heir, so I have to do better and better, and live true to the family's legacy. I hear the Founder's whispers all the time. But it's nothing I could explain.."
She resumes looking sad as she always does then..she doesn't speak up often at all..

"Well Haka. I promise you, I am not one to fear, nor dispise. Though I know since it is embeded in your genetics...I have my doubts that it will ever really help with me saying that to you. I am not so incomprehensive that I can not understand...it is really quite a simple thing to grasp, why you "dispise" men." He said with a nod. He took a deep breath, looking at each of the individual members as he stood there, waiting for their introductions too, and completely forgetting about the dead body that he had left behind them. He listened to the rest of what Haka had to say and then without waiting for the other intorductions he nodded to her again. "You know what, I don't get out too much either, so that's just fine." He said with a smile. "I find it interesting....how you can remember everything like that. Me...for some reason...I can't seem to remember anything about my clan...I remember being in the village and how it was when I was younger...but, I don't remember anything of....family." He said with a smirk. "Mothers...fathers. Those are foreign things to me...though obviously I must have had some." He stated, shrugging his shoulders. He lookd up to the man guiding them and he looked back to Haka, still unsure of what was going on. "You said we haven't chosen a team leader...but...isn't he our leader?" He asked, he had no idea that it was just a random guy they were following to meet a sage.

(a quickie, limited access)
::the harper, though not old, was silver haired and fair skinned. He stepped silently over to Tsume, his gentle hands slowly wrapping around the injured hand. He smiled sweetly, his eyes becoming slightly dimmer. A warm, soothing sensation would slowly begin in her finger tips and move towards her wrist. The entire time, the Harper seemed to be ignoring the bicker and banter of the students, as if the matter was of no concern of his any longer::
::when he removed his hands, the wound had sealed itself and healed, leaving no mark to show that it had ever been injured. He nodded, his eyes regaining their glow, pleased with his work. He then turned his back on the students and continued walking down the path, silently::

It was the warm sensation that first caught Tsume's attention, before she stared down at her hand, which was sealed over. She was used to medical techniques, since that's what she was trying to study, but she hadn't seen him make any seals, or heard him say anything.
When he started walking off, she glanced at Haka and Nero, before darting after the man.
"Na. Na, Oji-sama!. Arigato," fingers flexed, and she pulled the bandage off her hand, coiling it into a fist, before loosening it again.

::Gem was thankful for the shelter from the intense sun and stayed close to Sarume's side as they entered the center of the encampment. Jin was organizing the soldiers into groups that would deploy from different directions::
Ah, I see you two are ready
::Jin motioned them over, standing with her was a group of three men::
~*~Burnt City~*~
::the Harper smiled at her and gave a short, polite nod::
You are welcome. There was no need for you to remain hurt over such a trivial incident
::he continued down the shaded path, leading them through a light forest. Soon the normal sounds of animal life began again, birds singing, the hum of insects. After roughly 30 minutes of steady walking at the Harper's Brisk pace they reached a clearing where several tents were pitched::

He stood there, looking at Haka still for a moment and then shrugging his shoulders, she was seeming pretty unresponsive now and he took a deep breath. His question about leaders was still unanswered, but he would find out eventually he supposed. He watched intentively as the man healed a woman's hand wounds and smiled as he shook his head, impressed. He saw the girl glance at he and Haka and smiled as he walked over towards her as they walked through the forest and into a diferent area completely. After a little bit of silence he turned his golden eyes towards her and smiled gently. "Hey there. My name is Nero. It's nice to meet you Tsume." He said with a smile. "So, this is our sensei huh?" He asked with a laugh. "He seems kind of quiet." He stated again, in a talkitive mood.

Sarume headed in the direction of the group, making sure to keep Gem under her parasol. "I'm ready to go whenever you are. Gem has given me some items that will be extremely useful. Now, do we have a plan at the ready?" It seemed like there would be many small teams, which required precise strategy and timing, or the mission could be a disaster.

~*~Burnt City: Harper~*~
::inside the glade that the Harper lead them to was a set of three tents. A fire was contained beneath a large pot, something aromatic was boiling inside of the pot. The tents were of a plain material, blending nicely into the surrounding forest like areas::
::the Harper turned to look over his shoulder with a smile::
I am not your teacher, merely someone you have met on your travels.
::he pointed towards one of the tents::
Sage shall be within there
~*~Desert Town: Jin~*~
::Jin nodded and gathered the rest of the group that would be going with them::
The bandits are sneaky and full of tricks, but they are not going to expect that was would try an attack upon their base. Its risky, but its something that we need to do. If we can catch them off guard than maybe we can get the upper hand in all of this.
