the ghost of u mcr is there anyone who just learned how to play those really high notes and they sound like dieing geese? me and my friends sound like that when we play those notes. i'm told im good but i dont think so nope smile you're the only ones

you know what?toco clarinet,if you dont have anything nice to say dont say it at all.no one wants to see anyone else shuning any instrument player.you are going to discourage anyone who comes to us to ask for a solution to their problem.its rude and mean.just because you can do something doesnt mean that every one else can.maybe your the one who doesnt know anything.im tired of you and everybody else picking on people who you dont think are as good as you.it sounds to me like YOU have no clue! scream

I agree with deidra. You need to stop bashing everyone unless you want to get bashed right back. go ahead smile bash me. show through example that you're no better than i am and show that you have no right to tell me to stop. really, i don't care smile . in fact, i would ENJOY it smile . you're using phrases like "grow up" and "those are things a 10 year old would say"...and you're trying to tell me that i need to grow up? i'll admit smile i'm a tad bit immature, but you see, that's my prerogative. and yes, this forum is open to EVERYONE, including me. so if you'd like to preach your "love for everyone" you probably shouldn't contradict yourself so openly.

Yea Toco is being a bit of a b***h, but you guys are too by just screaming back at him. Everyone is Immature, they all have a side of that, everyone has a bitchy side once and a while. I mean just chill, you guys are fighting over really stupid crap. >.> To tell you the truth Toco is pretty good. He gives good advice sometimes and helps.. and then can be a b***h but we all act like that sometimes. So everyone just take a chill pill and relax..

If anyone is a hypocrite, it is you. first of all, what is good and what is bad is completely subjective. hitler thought he was doing the world a favor. you have to take into consideration the cultural beliefs of other people. to some cultures, drugs are an important right of passage. saying "it's the good kind of discouragement" isn't valid. second, your 5 year old cousin must be pretty smart smile but i'm sure he/she doesn't understand the whole "slanderous lie/blackmail" thing. nothing i say is a slanderous lie smile . anything i say which is offensive is merely my opinion, which i'm free to express. third, i never said i was mad at you guys for retaliating smile i was only saying you won't get me to stop by doing exactly what i do. as i tell you to expect me to retaliate against you, i'm completely open to any retaliation you might feel the need to make. i just want you to know that if you retaliate, i will counter your retaliation. fighting fire with fire never solves anything, unless what you want is a bigger fire smile . just because "i'm tired of people who don't know anything" doesn't mean i am never ignorant of anything. what i get frustrated about is people not knowing anything about the subject they're trying to give advice on. those people give poor advice and teach beginners poor technique. if you think about it, i'm really just looking out for the little guys smile . you say "is it a crime to ask a question?" i say "is it a crime to give an unsatisfactory answer?" you say "is it a crime to ask for playing advice?" and i say "is it a crime to reprimand a person who has given bad playing advice?" i am a firm believer in freedom of speech smile just as you have the right to ask stupid questions, i have the right to give stupid answers smile . just as you have the right to be rude when you take offense, i have the right to be rude when i take offense.(bad advice is offensive to me) have any more questions?

ANYWAY....
I have a concert today. just my luck, my clarinet decides it isn't going to work on me. And don't say it is just nerves, because it has been doing this since saturday.
It is dong the exact same thing as it does when I take too long to clean it, aka not playing when i blow into it. I mean, I'm pushing as hard as physically possible and still nothing comes ou, except a squeak if I am lucky. i tried cleaning it out. Still didn't work. Messed around with the reed, ligature and my embouchure, still wouldn't work. Tried a new reed, a little better, but still didn't wok(at least now I can get squeaks.) None of the screws are loose, nothing is otu of place, nothing looks wrong. I mean, if it were only doing this for a day or two, I would just think I was having on off day. but it has been almost a week. Anyone know what could be wrong with it or have any other things I can try in order to fix it? I've never had it do something like this before.
oh, and I have tried playing on another persons clarinet while theyplayed on mine(with our own mouthpieces of course) and they had the same problem, while i did fine on their instrument, so it isn't just me.
