Alecto beamed and moved so that she blocked Aphrodite's path. She was enjoying this immensely.

"I'm so sorry dear Aphrodite, but no one but Zeus himself can pass by here without stating their business with Hades to us so that we can go and tell him. Then, he will decide if he will allow you to meet with him or not."

Aphrodite smiled a vapid smile. "Daddy wouldn't like to hear you talking like that to me, Alecto," she said sweetly, coyly batting her eyelashes. "Anyway, I never knew Furies were so terribly nosy!" she gave a beatific laugh. "If you must know, I have a bit of a treat for my dear Uncle. You see?" she said, pointing to Sam. "She's got something he'll take an interest in! So you flying feather-dusters go on and skedaddle and tell Uncle Hades is best-looking niece is here to see him!"

Alecto smiled and rolled her eyes but turned around and walked with the rest of the Furies back to Hades' lair. A few moments later, fire roared in front of Aphrodite and Sam. Hades appeared within the flames.

When the flames subsided, Hades smiled slightly at Aphrodite. His face was pale and gaunt, and he had long dark robes on with a dark helmet/crown on the top of his head.

"Hello, Aphrodite. It is a surprise to see you. Alecto told me that you had a treat for me."

His eyes briefly swept over the girl beside Aphrodite. He could sense power inside of her, more than a mere mortal would have, but she was not a full goddess.

"Greetings, Uncle Hades," Aphrodite said respectfully. One God whose buttons she did not push was Hades'. "Yes," she added, "I brought you something. Not the girl, per se, but more like her talent! I have also come with a request," she added sweetly, giving Sam's shoulder a squeeze. If this all went the way she hoped it would, Sam wouldn't have to give up much.

Hades crossed his arms over his chest, his black gloves shining in the torch light. He raised an eyebrow at her. "Get to the point, Aphrodite. You know how busy I am."

"Fine," Aphrodite agreed, matching the tone in his voice. "I came here to ask you to resurrect a young girl that died this morning. Ari Franz. She was sacrificed by a Norse God. We need her, otherwise I wouldn't bother asking."

Hades chuckled softly, though the sound echoed off of the walls and rumbled into every crevice in the area. He was actually quite amused, which was rare for Hades.

"Aphrodite, I appreciate you coming all the way down here to amuse me. Zeus must have told you how weighed down with work I have been. You are a very sweet niece."
PostPosted: Thu May 13, 2010 9:59 pm

"Uncle Hades," she said gently, "This isn't a joke. I'm seriously asking you to bring this little girl back to life. I understand how much work you have to do, I really do. No one does your job better than you... but I've seen you do it before. It's only taken a few minutes! Please, Uncle, this girl... I wouldn't ask if it wasn't drastically important. I'll owe you tons of favors!" She added.

Hades smile turned into a deep frown. His brief and rare feeling of amusement was completely gone now.

"Aphrodite... You know that I cannot simply bring someone back from the dead because the Goddess of Love asks me to. Flattery does not work on me like it does with other weak-minded men. I do not know the reason for bringing this girl back, I do not know what I will get out of it, and I am already very busy. Do you realize the paperwork I will have to fill out to do this?"
PostPosted: Thu May 13, 2010 10:08 pm

Aphrodite was trying very, very hard to fight an oncoming tantrum. "I understand the paperwork, Uncle! I need to do some myself on occasion... especially when eliciting the help of the Furies. Anyway, as I promised, I brought something... the girl has it," she said, pointing once again to Sam. "This," she said, "Is the daughter of the man that killed Ari Franz. Her father is a Norse demigod... son to Baldr. She, like her grandfather and father, has light magic. I, of course, would also be open to nearly anything you request in return for this favor that I ask of you."

Hades stared at Aphrodite for a few long drawn-out minutes. Then, he sighed and spoke lowly.

"I need some time to think about this. I need to decide what I want in return and if it is worth me going to all this trouble for one silly little mortal girl."
PostPosted: Thu May 13, 2010 10:19 pm

Aphrodite nodded. Having him think about it was better than a flat out 'no'. "... if it makes any difference," Aphrodite said softly, "We'd take her on a lease!"

Chuckling at her joke, she led Sam and herself to the side and conjured two chairs. She seated herself, and gestured for Sam to do the same. Hades could take a while.

Hades actually looked quite shocked when Aphrodite made two chairs appear and she and the girl sat down on them. Like hell they were just going to sit down here...

A frown appeared on his face again, quickly masking the look of shock that had been there moments ago, and his eyes were glowing red faintly.

"Aphrodite... I do not work around your time. If you require something of me, then you work around my time. I will not have an answer ready today. I will summon you when I do have one. You should consider yourself lucky that I am even taking the time to consider this."

He tilted his head back slightly and then to the side as he considered Aphrodite. "You may have been joking earlier about taking this girl out on a lease, but that is actually quite intriguing. I could give her to you for ten days."
PostPosted: Thu May 13, 2010 10:34 pm

"... ten days? That's not enough, Uncle! Please, give the girl a month. One month." She was pleading with her eyes now. Ten days was not enough... it simply wasn't. He had to see that. She hoped he could.

Hades growled lowly. Aphrodite was giving him hardly information at all. Did she simply expect him to do what she asked out of the kindness of his cold heart?

In the far-off distance, Cerberus, the gigantic three-headed hell hound, could be heard howling, almost as if he had heard his master's growl and was answering it.

"Aphrodite, I should throw your friend here into Styx simply due to your insolence! You have given me very little information to go on, and yet you expect me to just bow to your wishes. Why is ten days not enough, and why in Hades do you need this mortal in the first place?!"
