Perhaps, but friendly characters would be more realistic to reality. Think, young children, new to a school, they'd be looking for friends not enemies. There are usually a few oddballs in the mix but for the most part people enjoy to talk to eachother. With socially inept characters with emotional problems who prefer to be by themselves and dislike being with a lot of people or thinking they are better, it limits Role-Play extensively. People are just trying to be the 'silent and cool' character, but sadly, in Role-Play, people come in hordes trying to create this type of character instead of completely unique characters. Not to say that all of the more anti-social characters are the same, no, but with that personality, it becomes frustrating trying to find the unique personality for that particular character. Though, seeing the group grow and change their personlities into unique characters would be quite entertaining, but as for now, I find the similarities rather drab. Now, as for Shisei, he brings his own flare. Being from a odd and unique clan makes it acceptable for a character to feel out of the norm. If you are told he has a similar personality to Sasuke, then they haven't taken in the reasons surrounding the reasons for the things they have in common.

3nodding I agree with Mel. Thats why although my character is a Savage he wont be the lonely type, nstead he will be looking for minions and his purpose in the academy will be to recruit the best classmates he can find as minions xd because he has dilusions of grandeur you could say. He'll be like the boss of the bullies in school, or atleast thast what im trying to make him.

I'm going to disagree with both of you on that. Although my total rp experience is much less than anyone else's here the one thing I find that people do is create characters in their image. At least first time characters. The characters end up silent and cool not because they want to, but in real life some people don't just go up and chat away with others. How many times do you just randomly go up to a stranger and start chatting under no pretense?
The way how to get characters to speak is by motive. That's where story comes in. Cause if you think about it in Naruto there are a lot of anti-social characters, but there are ways for them to still interact. That's the difference between an rp and real life. You can make a situation in which they come together. Realistic and reality is fun, but also boring at times. That's why there should be all types of characters.
Also on that young children to new school thing, at least from my experiences while the children are not looking for enemies they don't necessarily become friends until a situation puts them together.

I think you have a point on that. A large portion of people create their characters after themselves, but, mainly because they are new to Role-Playing and it would be easier being themselves rather than being someone else. And, I must admit, Senritsu is mirrored after myself. Name, personality, views, even the ability to go on and on about something that could easily have taken a sentence or two to complete and get the view across. But, as I was saying, most of the people who have the time and wanting to online often and want to Role-Play in what most people would concider 'nerd-like' things would be people that like their solitude. Mainly between the ages of 13-19, slowing down around college because of the growing socialization and perhaps a slight increase when coming out of college, while keeping a day job. People who would want to keep a character for an extended amount of time would be those who are at least somewhat bored of their every-day life, and staying because they find it fun to be with people who think and see, not to mention like, the same things they do. They make friends, enemies, and aquantances while Role-Playing, and that is their reason for staying. Oh, I believe I got off topic. Well, going back, I, personally find it rather fun to start up a conversation with a random stranger while doing anything. Whether that be sitting at the bus-stop, shopping at the grociery store, or going to Fiesta Texas. Going on, about the young children at school, most would be quiet, not knowing anyone there. But, if they find or see that someone likes the same things, they would be much more likey to strike up a conversation about that particular thing. Sorry if I'm gettng a bit random at the moment. It's late and I should probably be getting to bed. ^_^' It was a pleasure talking to you as always Katz the Nine Lives, as well as you Prince Yautja. Have a nice night you two. ^_^

Have a nice night you two. ^_^ I don't think you're going off topic at all. When it comes to character creation a lot of things need to be considered for the character and the person behind the character. As for staying the purpose of rping is to make friends and communication. That's what makes it different from playing an online shooting game like Halo or even some Mmorpgs. Well that's my assumption. There are certain ones here who know more about the Mmorpgs communication between others than I. Actually that's where I fail as an rper. My brain is more inclined to do like what I'd usually do in one of my novels and/or rpg games. My basis of what I'm saying though is you can make any character interact with another at least for a short while depending on situation. I don't mean to sound arrogant, but I believe Shisei is one of the most difficult to interact with in all rp's. Other characters are hard, but I think they tend to break down to some degree after a while. It's just a matter of setting it up right ^_^.
Zineal: Thanks for the agreement. I thought i was just babbling nonsense lol.

@ Prince - ...I didn't know you needed a partner... =p But I already wrote up my second and I think it'll be equally fun interacting with Shinichi and Senritsu. ^^ Oh, yeah...Yautja about the recruiting classmates grand delusion...Haruka will be the type to show you her fist as an answer... She hates having people rule her. ;D
@ Katz - Hmn...my second character will be 180 degree polar opposite of my dear Yuu-chan. She's neither sweet nor cute at all. The epitome of meanness...she did get more of her father's traits.
...I think there's a chance Haru might get kicked out of the Academy... o_O Depending on how well Yuki takes children with bullying tendencies...? Y.Y

So Eifer. Do you want to tell us all a little about Jess? heh heh heh
Kouri: Shisei was never meant to be easy ^_^;
Pheonix: Heh. She's quite the sadist. If I had to compare your character to anyone from the naruto verse she'd probably be the Gaara type. Although I don't know if she's going to be able to beat Shisei in meanness. Heh it'll be interesting though.
Karite: So technically the Jio's have produced the best Thief and first puppet master. ^_^. The Orochi shall produce.... perhaps one of the greatest villains of all time. And a forbidden jutsu user like none before!
Sorri: Make sure your turn that gator into fresh shoes, like you just came out of Florida.
