"Okay, we're lost" They had strayed off the path to chase the Mankey, and were now surrounded by very large trees. They could hear the Mankey rustling off in the distance, but were too tired to chase it anymore. As Sam panted, doubled-over, she heard pokedex beep. She pulled it out.
"Star has learned: Water Gun"
"That's great, wonderful, thank you so much!" She shut the dex angrily. "I don't suppose you have directions?!" She lay down on the ground, her palms on her forehead. Star jumped on her stomach. "Ow...Star you're too heavy get off." Star merely kept jumping, up and down, up and down. "Okay fine, what do you want?" Sam opened her eyes. Star was facing the trees, looking at the treetops. The Mankey sat on one of the branches, struggling with the chestnut. It was oblivious to Sam and Star. Sam slowly got to her feet. "Star...use Water-Gun," she whispered. Star nodded. She prepared herself, and shot a compressed jet of water straight at the Mankey. It landed a direct hit. The Mankey fell out of the tree, and landed on the spiky chestnut. It yowled.
"Maaaankeeey!" Furious, it swung a Low Kick towards Star, who, unaware of the Mankey's speed, took it hard. Luckily, Star wasn't that heavy, and it didn't hurt too much. Star retaliated with a Mud-Slap. It seemed that was becoming her favorite move, probably because the look of mud dripping of her opponents face was very satisfying. The Mankey avoided the brunt of the blow. It slid back, and leered at Star. Star let her guard down a little. After all, how dangerous could this Mankey really be?
"Star, watch out!" Star rolled her eyes, and then received a nice Scratch to her face and shoulders. It caused a lot more damage then intended because Star wasn't prepared for it. Star licked her wounds. The Mankey came in for another blow. "Star, jump over the kick! Use Water-Gun!" Star nodded and crouched. The Mankey came in low, and Star played jump-rope with its leg. Star let loose another jet of water, and it hit the Pig Nose pokemon in the face at point-blank range. It flew upwards, and Star dashed forward, anticipating where it was going to land. She watched it come down. "Star, leap up and use Bite!" Star smiled, an evil smile. She left the ground, mouth open, coming in for the deathblow. She landed a solid hit. She held on with a lockjaw until they both hit the ground, settling with a nice cloud of dirt and stray leaves. Star struggled to her feet, stumbling from her low stamina. The Mankey acted similarly, however it's weight made it's a path a little wider. Sam knew Star couldn't take another hit.
'Maybe I should just try and capture it. I do need a 2nd pokemon...' She quickly withdrew a pokeball from her bag, and pressed the middle button. She threw it, and it hit the Mankey's back. A red light eclipsed the Mankey, and sucked inwards. The ball fell to the ground, shaking back and forth...back and forth...it broke open! The Mankey was furious again, an energy reserve spurring it on as it came in, claws bared, to Scratch Star. Sam quickly threw another pokeball. It reached the Mankey just as it reached its arm out. It was sucked in again. Again, the back and forth...back and forth...back and forth...it stopped moving. Sam stood there, waiting for something to happen. Nothing but Star's heavy breathing, and the sounds of the forest.
"I...did it! I did it!" She punched a fist into the air. "Go me!" She pulled out her pokedex, and it scanned the pokeball.
"Mankey, level 6. Male. Moves: Scratch, Leer, Low Kick. Ability: Vital Spirit. Nature: Naughty." Sam laughed.
"Well there's a surprise." She took a step forward. "Eeeouch!" She had stepped on the chestnut. She picked it up. "Stupid nut...but if my Mankey likes you, I might as well keep it. As a souvenir, since you have no real purpose." She looked off into the distance. "Hm...what should I name him?" She held the pokeball, waiting for inspiration.
"Maelogan, the Battle Prince. Or 'Miles' for short" She smiled.

"Ha ha, alright man! I gotta say, I like that attitude, show me how big a splash you can really make!" Brawly was very excited now, he knew that he'd be able to unload on this guy without doubts, this would be a good battle. He got into position, the area where they stood now being the battle field, and another official of the gym came over. "So what's your name bro, where ya from? Unless you wanna be the mystery blond dude from parts unkown, but that's pretty gnarly to right?" He said with a mighty laugh, really getting into the spirit of the battle.
"Now beginning today's second official pokemon league gym battle for the Hoenn Knuckle Badge. This will be a three on three battle, only the challenger may substitute pokemon during the match. The battle will go on until I have determined either side's pokemon unable to continue. Is the leader ready?"
"Oh you know it. Show me what you got tough guy!" Brawly unleashed hit first pokemon into the battle field, the white light spinning worldly as it took the form of his first pokemon. The pokemon spun in place several times, coming to a stop and facing the challenger with a determined look on it's face, looking at the world upside down as he maintained perfect balance on his head. "Let's have fun with this one Hitmontop, but that doesn't mean we won't try and crush him!"
"Is the challenger ready?" The judge spoke, a red flag pointed at the challenger as he waited for him to call out his pokemon. ((Naw, no way Aire. It was a fine post. All you had to really work with was 'yes I accept', so I think you did that perfectly. unlike me))

"Snorunt, get out here." Crenu tapped the fifth pokeball on his belt, only one empty ball remained. Hmm...Pop's old Fly Hm has been sitting in my bag for a while. Snorunt erupted from her pokeball, looking around and a bit excited to see that they were on a ship again. She didn't much care for the bright hot sun, but the sea air was divine. "If you weren't so uselessly weak, I'd be able to use you in my next battle. But no matter, you won't be so weak for long. I trust you were paying attention during that match earlier." Snorunt started to feel down again when she heard Crenu's words, but perked right up again. He said he would help her, that she won't be weak for long. That's what he said right? Yeah, she believed him. She had to. His lack of compliments and harsh words, they seemed like the only thing he knew how to use. In fact, it was almost like his way of showing his affection, at least he was acknowledging her in a way. So if anything, she was just determined to do her best and not get left behind again. But back to the matter at hand, she had indeed witnessed the battle with the big cheery guy on the beach and needless to say she was amazed at Crenu's other pokemon. The way he carried them through the battle as well as their determination for the fight, it was truly something to behold. First was the relentless spider queen that was Ariados. She went in there with agility and power, she didn't falter even when locked in a mid air grapple and plummeting to the ground. Then was the slimy blue bully Poliwhirl. Just thinking about him made the icy pokemon shiver, and ever scarier was they way he laughed in the fight even after taking those tremendously shocking punches, almost like he enjoyed it! And that other pokemon she hadn't met before, the one with the powerful rubbery legs. He looked like a bit of a rebel, but Crenu managed to work with him anyway and pulled through with pure power. All amazing displays, all determined to win, all things she was not. "You'll remember Hitmonlee's decision to go against my orders in the end. He got lucky with that strike, end of story. That was foolish, and he could have ended up badly hurt. Worse than that, he could have cost me the match. I'll give him another shot because I'm certain he'll see things my way now and understands his mistake, but he won't get any more chances after this." From his pocket Crenu pulled out a cigarette and lit it, inhaling deeply before kneeling down to better look at Snorunt, blowing the smoke out from the side of his mouth. "There's not room on this team for hotshots who want to do things their way. I'm the general and you are my soldiers, soldiers who disobey orders end up in places they don't want to be." He took another drag from his cigarette, taking it from his mouth and holding it between his fingers, the ashes falling from the tip and scattering on the deck. "I'm sure we won't have that problem though. Your case is a little different. I'll let you know right now, those with doubt who don't live up to my expectations are worse off than those who don't listen. No fear, no doubt. Simple as that." With that, Crenu stood up again and looked over the side of the ship as it began to slow down. Within moments, they were docked once again in Slateport. Crenu looked at his phone, it had been several hours since he'd left to be on his own again and was already past lunch. The train probably wouldn't be leaving for a while anyway so he decided to go to the pokecenter first. His pokemon would be better off healed and fed before leaving for Kanto, and it would give Crenu some time to do more research. Not on Erika or the Celedon gym, but on his own pokemon. He was still curious about Ariados's mystery attack as well as the probability of his other pokemon having attacks he didn't know about either. "Come on." Crenu put the smoke back in his mouth and walked off the boat, hands in his pockets as Snorunt scurried closely behind with her short stubby legs struggling to keep up. Crenu looked down at her and sighed, picking up the little orange cone and placing her on his head like before. "If you didn't keep my head from getting hot you'd be back in your pokeball." Crenu bloew another cloud of smoke into the air as he made his way to the center.

I already have lost everything, Keegan thought before he could stop himself, and again he grit his teeth, mentally fighting off images of a particular blonde girl as they bombarded his memory. But no, he corrected himself. As long as I have my Pokemon, then I've got something! Even still, one small, nagging voice inside his brain couldn't help but inform him how much easier this situation would be if she was here with him now. He had little doubt in his mind that she and her Pokemon wouldn't make quick work of these two clowns and have them retreating with their tails between their legs and in record time, at that. Shut up! he commanded himself mentally while barking out an order to Helios and Althena, this is the last thing you need right now, you bloody moron! Pining over her isn't going to bring her back to you, or make her love you, for that matter! Tears were stinging the corners of his eyes as he watched Althena launch her Water Pules at the Aggron - now that was an effective attack; somewhat, at least. The beast staggered back as confusion ripped at his mind and he let out a mighty roar, tearing at the earth with his powerful arms for no reason anyone could deduce. Helios, meanwhile had gotten out of the way of an oncoming Take Down from the other thief's Tauros and managed to position himself in such away that he could send a Heat Wave to scorch the battlefield and strike both of his opponents at one time, though it only seemed to enrage the Aggron further and though confused, this time when it swung its electrified fist, it caught Althena solidly in the shoulder and within a split second the powerful electricity had shot through her body and rendered her unconscious.
No! Keegan's mind screamed, as his voice was frozen in his throat. His heart was pounding erratically against his ribcage and he was certain that at this rate, he would surely pass out. Not only that, but he was down two Pokemon for sure, and he had a sickly feeling deep in the pit of his stomach that he couldn't win this. Damn, he thought, recalling Althena. He couldn't believe how much his hand was shaking. "Okay Themis... I need you again, pal," he said quietly as he released the Manectric back out onto the field. Themis nodded at his newly-evolved partner before glaring at the Aggron and Tauros... it seemed this battle wasn't getting any easier. "Themis, use Thunder Wave on the Aggron, and Helios, Will-o-Wisp on the Tauros!" he commanded, his voice cracking slightly.
The two Pokemon were quick to respond, each sensing the seriousness of the situation. Themis growled sharply as he let a weak charge of static electricity roll off his body, and he watched with amusement as it arched towards the Aggron, who could do nothing to avoid it. The sudden paralysis brought the beast down to a knee and it temporarily found itself unable to move. Finally, a little luck for the redhead. Helios, meanwhile, had sent a gorgeous ring of fire wisps at the Tauros, and like his bigger partner, was unable to avoid the hit. The bull Pokemon bellowed as the blue flames caused painful burns all over its body, and now it would make it difficult to move, let alone attack. ===== About half an hour later, Miharu and her Pokemon were stationed at a little ice cream shop, celebrating their Goldenrod gym win in the best way Miharu knew how. She and her Pokemon were enjoying various flavours of ice cream, save for Aska, who was pecking at the crumbs of a wafer cone that Miharu had broken up for her, and Tingle, who didn't seem to care for ice cream, and well, Starrie, who didn't appear to even really eat anything really. All in all the small girl was feeling quite good about herself, confident even. She'd won two badges in as many days so she had a reason to feel good about herself. All that training has certainly paid off, she thought, watching as Petunia devoured the entirety of her strawberry ice cream in one gulp, and gratefully accept the remainder of Sparkle's because she couldn't finish hers. Miharu grinned. They were so different, yet the two got along so well together. Miharu had read up on Pinsir before and knew that they were very vicious creatures, yet here Petunia was, getting along perfectly fine with the much smaller and very playful Flaaffy. Miharu smiled at the two of them and decided to bask in that happy moment and enjoy her mint chocolate chip.
After they were finished there, well, Miharu didn't know what to do. She'd been dreaming for so long about getting herself that Plain Badge, but now that she finally had it she wasn't sure what to do next. She knew there was a gym in Olivine City, but she was aware of the fact that it was a rather tough gym. The leader there specialized in either steel or ground type Pokemon, Miharu didn't know for sure, but she didn't want to press her luck before she was ready. She closed her eyes and thought for a moment. Was there a gym on Cianwood? Again she couldn't be sure, but it sounded right. But then again, she didn't want to cross the sea for nothing. The small girl sighed and leaned back in her chair. Their next goal could be set later. Right now she was just going to enjoy her winning moment over and over again in her mind.

Jaeshan smirked again and once more tried to smooth his highly disobedient hair. He could tell that he was going to like this Brawly fellow, as he was cheerful and pretty gung-ho to boot. "The name's Jaeshan. Jaeshan Devereaux, from Littleroot Town," the blonde responded with a laugh. Now he new why Brawly was so popular around the town - a gym leader wasn't only there for their challengers, but they also served as a sort of idol or icon in the town they resided as well. Jaeshan wasn't sure he could ever uphold the position of gym leader as well as all the leaders he'd encountered so far.
When the Hitmontop was released, Jaeshan studied it for several moments before he decided that he knew enough about Handstand Pokemon and didn't need to use his PokeDex. I hope I'm not making a mistake here, he thought, taking a deep breath before he snatched up his first Pokeball and sent it spinning onto the field. Metang burst from the sphere in a flash of light, his strange, metallic body enhanced by the gold and silver sparkles that were ever present whenever the shiny Metang was released from his Pokeball. "Okay Metang, give 'em all you've got," Jaeshan said, giving him a confident nod. Metang looked back at his trainer apprehensively, but inevitably returned the nod and then turned to face Brawly and his Hitmontop. Metang still wasn't the most confident of Pokemon, especially after the last gym battle he'd participated in, but they were hoping to shake that one off and start anew.
"We're ready."

It was a rather comical sight to behold, the shiny stars speeding towards the poor, oblivious Krabby. Even after they crashed into it, the crab didn't react right away, instead it just blinked a few times and looked around to see what had happened. When it finally saw Ralts standing nearby, wearing a cheeky grin, it began to foam at the mouth and snap its pincers together angrily. "I think you got it's attention," Riza commented. "Get ready to use double team when it attacks you," she added.
The small white and green Pokemon nodded her head, the two red 'horns' on her helmet appearing to almost glow for a moment. Riza didn't notice it though, and was instead watching as the now annoyed Krabby spayed a bubblebeam at Ralts. Ralts did as told and quickly made several perfect copies of herself, all of which were dancing and giggling in unison as they pointed at the crab. This only proved to make the poor Krabby even angrier as now it came charging at the nearest little Ralts, swinging a shining metal claw (though Riza didn't know it) in hopes to silence the annoying laughter. The claw sailed right through the copy and this left it open for an attack, which Riza didn't hesitate to call for. "Okay Ralts, try out that new thunderbolt!" she called, feeling a little excited to see this new attack for the first time.
Ralts closed her eyes and focused her powers on creating a surge of powerful electricity that she then concentrated into a single bolt, and with a cry she launched it at the crab.....and then watched as she missed by a good three feet and the electricity fizzled out harmlessly into the sandy ground. "Okay that was a little anticlimactic," Riza murmured, though not overly surprised. 'Might be a little trickier to master a new move than I thought." The Krabby eyed the spot where the electricity had landed, looking just as stunned as Ralts did. It didn't last for long, though, and soon the Krabby had recovered from almost nearly being fried and it opened its mouth and shot out a stream of gross looking, brown goo right at Ralts. The first one it attacked blinked out of existence but the crab seemed to pick up on this quickly, and it continued to fire the stream of mud until all the clones were gone. Then, it took aim at the real Ralts, managing to land a direct hit as the attack caught her by surprise. * * * * * "Excuse me, but are you Katie Maguire?" Katie was suddenly startled from her daydreaming, and she opened her eyes, blinking a few times to remove the blurriness from her vision only to see the bubbly, pink-haired nurse standing over her, an inquisitive look set in her features.
"Yes," Katie said, nodding. She carefully got up out of her chair and stretched, looking expectantly at the nurse. "Are my Pokemon ready?" she asked, perhaps a little less politely than she should have been.
Joy nodded. "Yes, they are fully healed," she said, gesturing to a table nearby, where the two were sitting, each enjoying a rather scrumptious looking apple. Genki seemed to be pretty happy, and when he saw Katie looking at him he waved eagerly. Noa, on the other hand, was pecking at her own apple and was scowling at the Chimchar. Katie guessed that the Starly was aware of the fact that Genki had defeated the Staravia and that it had angered her. Noa gobbled up the last of her apple before she once again studied the Chimchar, and when she saw that he wasn't paying attention leaned over and stole away the rest of his apple.
"Noa!" Katie said in a scolding tone, but the nurse stopped her before she could fully berate the jealous little bird.
"Actually Katie, there is a phone call for you. A very serious sounding woman...she seems very, uh, bossy," the nurse said somewhat nervously.
"Must be my mother," Katie mumbled, and sighed. "All right, thank you." The nurse pointed out the phone to her and Katie reluctantly went over and picked it up. "Hello...?" she said, somewhat dejectedly, wondering how anyone would know she was here, and why they didn't just call her cell.

Alice sat on a curb next to the hotel, she had a miserable look on her face. Kadaj sat next to her with a sleepy look in his eyes. "Some security they have! Just letting anybody in, I don't even remotely look like that jerk!" Alice complained to her little Pokemon while nesting the egg in her lap. A few minutes past and the anger slowly subsided, Alice began to wonder why he would dig through her hotel room. "What was he looking for?" Alice thought over all her belongings, nothing was special. It was mostly belongings for a lady out traveling, nothing you can't find at any store. Her fingers stroked over the egg until it hit her. Her eyes widened as she looked down at the warm egg in her lap. "No way..." Paranoia hit and Alice looked wildly around her, no sign of the bushy mustache man near by. She covered the egg and placed it securely in her bag. Scooping Kadaj in her arms, she grabbed her bike and petaled through the city. She had to make a quick stop home to get some answers!

This too is sacred... The theif's cell looked like a hundred others across the country; bare walls, one barred window too high to see out of, a toilet and on the opposite wall, a single cot with pillow and blanket. Everything was grey and drab, including the too small uniform that fit tightly on the man who sat on the bed. Eyes closed, hands held in a meditative pose on his crossed legs, he seemed serene despite the harsh surroundings. Deep purple hair that a few days prior had been nicely styled was now greasy and unkempt lay heavily on his head to just below his ears and the uniform was too short for his long arms and legs. At first glance he seemed too thin for what would be a very tall man but as he shifted position on the bed to lay down muscles rippled and relaxed.
With a sigh, Travis B, aka the Pokemon Pincher, renown Pokemon theif and honoured member of Team Rocket, awaited his fate. The predictable click of Officer Jenny's heels on the concrete floor as she kept watch lulled him into a light doze, his mind retracing the route that had brought him to this place.
10 Years Prior
"You've lost, kid! Thanks for all the Pokemon!" Laughing and waving, a pair of Team Rocket thugs left a small clumsy boy crying on the side of Route 6, his Pokemon stolen, his pockets empty. The battle had been short and brutal; appearing out of nowhere the two thugs had challenged the new trainer to a fight then beat his Bulbasaur and Pidgey to a pulp. Humiliated, afraid and utterly alone Travis was forced to give the pair everything they asked for, even his Pokemon, in exchange for his life.
The despair and fear in the boy's heart didn't last, couldn't last against his inner core of strength. Travis was barely 10 years old but not a quitter, and after drying his tears he followed the two Rockets back to their hideout in Vermillion City. If nothing else he would rescue his Pokemon from Team Rocket's hands and a life of crime. Placing every hand and foot with care he stalked them like a Persian and remained undetected through the streets and back alleys of the big city. Near sunset, after tailing them through a shopping trip where they spent his money and then a restaurant where they ate what was left, Travis saw them disappear through a secret door in a warehouse.
Cautiously approaching the door he found that it was locked tight. Frustrated and disappointed he had paced about the entrance for a few seconds then went looking for another way in. Dawn came and found him high on a window ledge outside the warehouse, fingertips bleeding and exhaustion in every bone. It had taken him hours of careful climbing up the side of the brick building to reach this ledge and window; twice he had fallen to the alley below, the only thing that had saved him from a broken skull was a pile of garbage. The second fall had been higher than the first and the garbage had nearly not been enough. Travis had woken with dawn coming fast and a throbbing, sick feeling in his head. However, sitting perched on the window ledge like a Pidgy, he was rewarded for all his hard work by finding the window unlocked. Opening it he slipped inside and went in search of his Pokemon.
The members of Team Rocket were easy to avoid in thier own hideout; he heard them talking and laughing before he saw them and was able to find hiding spots under tables, in closets and once in a freezer to avoid them. Eventually he made his way to the cages where Team Rocket kept their catch. Pity tugged at Travis' heart as he saw the unhappy Pokemon in captivity but he knew he couldn't rescue them all. Passing by dehydrated Squirtles and chilly Charmanders he found his Pidgy and Bulbasaur side by side in too-small cages.
As his hand reached out to release them with a set of stolen keys all the lights in the room flicked on and two members of Team Rocket grabbed him while a third leered.
"Take him to the boss." ...love as thou wilt

Elated with her new pokemon, Sam skipped happily through the forest. She didn't care if she looked like an idiot to other trainers (she sometimes heard battles in progress), she just wanted out of this forest. Star followed sedately behind. Even with the little Potion pick-me-up, she was still fairly tired. Very soon, she saw the trees thinning, and a city on the horizon. She sprinted through the remaining trees towards the city. As she was running she noticed a sign to her right. She quickly read it as she passed. "Route 2 - Pewter City". As she passed the city limits, she breathed a sigh of relief. Her first milestone had been passed. It was time for her first Gym Battle. She paused to catch her breath, while Star still ran, far behind. Her short legs couldn't carry her very far. Sam found this intensely funny, seeing as she was the worst runner in Cianwood.
As she wandered the city, looking for the Gym, she found the pokemon center. She stopped, and went inside. After the fight to get Miles, she figured both Star and Maelogan needed a good rest. She handed them off to the nurse, smiling slightly at the fact that she handed a pokeball off as well as Star now. As she went towards the cafeteria to pig out at the buffet, her leg twinged a bit. She remembered the cut on her leg from the chestnut. She pulled the chestnut from her bag. She didn't know why she kept it. Absentmindedly, she peeled it. She remembered an old textbook that said chestnuts were great treats for pokemon, especially Mankeys. She could give it to him as a reward when she...when she beat the gym leader! She didn't want to sound overconfident, but she was sure with a little training she could pull it off. Still feeling very confident, she scanned the crowd, looking for a table she could sit at with other trainers. Normally she was too shy to do such things, but she felt on top of the world at the moment. Finally she spotted a large table with three other trainers sitting around it. Two boys and a girl. They were feeding their pokmon. One boy, dark-haired with green eyes, was feeding a Tauros, though it looked rather hard seeing as it kept charging him. The other boy, blond with dark blue eyes, was flinging food upwards, where his Tailow was flitting about catching the morsels in its mouth. The girl sat quietly, her curly brown hair falling across her face as she gently spooned food into a little pokemons mouth. Sam had no idea what it was, so she pulled out her pokedex and putting away the peeled chestnut as she walked towards them. Standing directly in front of the pokemon, she consulted her pokedex.
"Munchlax, the Big Eater pokemon. It wolfs down it's weight in food once a day, swallowing food whole with almost no chewing."
"Hi," Sam said, suddenly losing her confidence. The three turned and looked at her. The girl continuosly spooned the food into the Munchlax's mouth. The blond haired boy stood up. The Tailow settled on the table.
"Hi I'm Hunter, this is Stephen," motioning to the dark-haired boy, who was now recalling the Tauros, " and this is Olivia. Just got here huh?" Sam relaxed
"Yeah, I'm waiting for my pokemon to be healed." Hunter nodded.
"We were doing the same thing. We all challenged Brock earlier today, but none of us won. It was brutal." Sam paled.
"Really? I was planning on battling Brock too, but...maybe I should train some more." Hunter laughed, and threw his arm around Sam. She fidgeted.
"Well what pokemon do you have?"
"Um..a...a mudkip and um...a mankey," she stuttered, startled by his openness. Stephen stood up.
"You should do fine. Water is strong against ground and rock types, which is what Brock specializes in. Hunter, stop making her uncomfortable." Hunter rolled his eyes, and let Sam sit down next to Olivia. She smiled, still feeding the Munchlax.
"He looks like a Snorlax," Sam said, thinking of nothing else to say. Olivia laughed quietly.
"He should. Thats what he is going to evolve into, once he loves me enough." She sighed. "Unfortunately that will take awhile, since it doesn't depend purely on experience like most evolutions do." She petted the Munchlax's head. "Kaz, evolve already!" she said jokingly. Sam smiled.
"How do you know when he loves you enough?" Olivia held up a small device.
"My Poketch tells me. Currently, he has one heart. Soon, when he has two hearts, he will evolve. Thats pretty good, considering he is only level 8." Sam thought about this for awhile.
"Where did you get your poketch? That seems pretty useful."
"Jubilife City. In Sinnoh. I live there, but my dad said that if I started a pokemon journey, I had to start it right by going in the traditional order, from Kanto onwards." Sam nodded.
"I live in Cianwood City. Johto. I wasn't even planning on being here, or being a pokemon trainer...hey do you want to battle me? Once my pokemon are back?" Olivia nodded.
"Yes I would like that very much. Maybe Kazdan will evolve."

"Ryyyyyyyyyyy!" The virtual pokemon exclaimed as it appeared in a flash of white light. A reaction with his extrerior causing minature flashes all about it. Making the air about him sparkle in the darkness like a diamond caught by light.
The labrat was stunned with the appearance of the pokemon. Venerax chuckled. "See I'm not as far behind as you thought. C'mon lets see who's programming is more advanced."
The labrat recovered with a scowl. "I already know. You're going to learn to love roughing it!"
Calculus traced the other porygon expecting nothing different between the two of them. But was surprised to find an alternate programming power. Tracing it ability it began to download info about the other porygon's defenses. Finding that it, much like itself, was more defended against non-physical blows. Summarily Calculus's attack power increased to take advantage of this fact. All this computing occurred inwardly, but outwardly this download of information and change inprograming caused the virtual pokemon display to turn a deep indigo and rose from its light blue and white. Obviously the same was occuring with Calculus's opponent as the hue of its hue turned from pink to a deep crimson and lavender colouring.
The labrat's porygon looking over its new opponent did not only download the defense stats of Calculus, but seeing its fresh opponent repair a considerable amount of its damage that the small bird pokemon had caused.
Venerax cringed inwardly as the labrat's porygon used recover to repair its injuries, but he kept his poker face on. This was not going to be an easy fight despite his bluster.

Robin laid on her back on one of the couches in the pokemon center staring up at the ceiling with blank blue eyes. By her side Luffy was sitting against the couch with a small frown on his face. He was not happy with Robin right now, he understood she was upset but why wasn't she moving on? She was strong he knew she was and now she was just moping around and not protecting her Nakama like she should.
Let's get away, fly away I found the path to paradise Shining spiral of gold Take my hand, find our way out
Robin's phone sang from her bag and she lazily looked over at it for a second before sighing and reaching into her bag and picking it up at the last moment. "Hello." She muttered as she held it to her ear not even checking to see who it was.
"What? Hello. Robin? Is that you?" Came the somewhat confused voice of Ampersand on the other end of the line.
"Oh hi Ampersand. Why are you calling." She muttered tiredly her eyes sliding down from the ceiling and landing on top of Luffy's hat.
"What do you mean why am I? Ah, what is up with you Robin you don't sound like yourself. Anyway I was calling to ask where you are? You ran off yesterday and I can't find you. I was wondering if you wanted to go to Sinnoh tomorrow with me."
'Oh yeah that new area opened, it let Luffy evolve.' Robin thought to herself as she stayed silent for a moment before answering. "I am in Kanto right now."
"Kanto? Wow you certainly move fast. I was thinking you just went over to the next town or something. Well, you don't have to come if you don't want to."
"No, it is not a big deal I am not doing anything over here anyway. I just need to wait for Raz to heal and walk down to the train station."
"Ah ok then. How about you give me a call when you get down here. I would be happy to treat you to dinner so you can tell me what is up with you little missie."
"Hmm... ok bye Ampersand." Robin flipped her phone closed with a snap and let her arm slide back down her mind going blank again.

With the Heracross firmly in the pokeball he picked himself up off of the ground and dusted his jeans off. Turning to his remaining pokemon he stared at the Porygon for a moment taking one last drag from his cigarette before he took out a small container and slipped the remains inside of it. Sliding the metal lid shut he stuck it back into his pocket. "Turn A I need you back in your pokeball." He said calmly.
Turn A just stared blankly at its trainer before it disappeared back into its pokeball. There were advantages to being a digital pokemon, being able to disappear or download himself into technology was one of the advantages.
With his pokemon back in his pokeball the calm trainer started making his way out of the forest again. It wasn't to hard to find his way out of the forest all he really had to do was head off to the brighter area, that and the fact that there was a small path that he could follow to.
When he stepped out of the dark forest he blinked dark eyes a bit trying to get them to adjust to the bright light. After a few seconds though he gave up on that and reached up and pulled the large mirrored aviator shades down over his eyes. Now that was much better.
Sighing the young man walked down the pathway that lead into the city not really paying to much attention to his surroundings. He had to stop at the pokemon center but that was about it. He wasn't planning on spending a lot of time in Viridian City. He would have to come back after his visit with Oak anyway, he could pay more attention on that trip.

This too is sacred... A loud banging sound woke Travis from his doze on the bed and he opened his eyes to the same drab ceiling that had been there when he'd fallen asleep.
"Time for lunch." Said Officer Jenny, sliding a tray through a slot in the barred door. A sandwich, a juicebox and an apple appeared on the floor, the same lunch he had been served the previous two days. His call and message to the Team Rocket headquarters had gone unanswered and he had noone else to call, not really. After being captured by the villains his whole life had changed.
Travis took the three steps from his bed to the tray then went back with it and sat down, biting into the apple and ignoring the juice as it ran down his chin. Wiping it away with his hand he felt the beginnings of a beard and against his will a rueful smile touched his lips. A few more bites and the apple was nothing but core and sticky fingers, which he wiped on his uniform. The young man knew he wouldn't be allowed a razor to shave with, even if he wasn't allowed to mix with the others waiting for trial. After a long and prosperous career stealing Pokemon for Team Rocket the guard was afraid he'd try to off himself. Aaah, those were the days... 5 Years Ago
"Stop! You can't do this! Those Pokemon need medical attention!" Nurse Joy cried as he stuffed Pokeball after Pokeball into a carrying case, removing them from their holders at the Pewter City Pokemon Center. He silenced her with a glare and a menacing gesture from his Hitmonlee. Sinking against the counter she looked to her Clefairy for help but it was unconsious, beaten by Hitmonlee in a rush as he'd entered. This Team Rocket member didnt' waste time on silly rhymes or honourable battle; he got in, grabbed what he was after and got out. Travis finished quickly and pulled the strap of the carrying case over his shoulders and across his chest and letter R emblazoned there. After nodding to the Hitmonlee he pulled a small sphere from his belt and threw it hard agains the floor infront of Nurse Joy, causing a small explosion of smoke and a flash of light.
While she coughed wildly and was blinded the Pokemon Pincher made his escape; up into the air duct and onto the roof then a quick run and jump to the nearby roof of the Pewter City Gym, the Hitmonlee keeping pace easily. Together the two then dropped into an alley several streets away from the Center and the flashing lights and sirens that were gathering there. He pulled off his mask and threw it into a garbage bin, a cold smile on his face as he hefted the weight of the case getting onto his bike. There were going to be a lot of upset trainers in that Center in the next few days, maybe even Brock himself. The Hitmonlee vanished into it's ball with a flash of red light and then Travis made himself scarce, pedalling hard out of town on Route 3.
A week later he was back in Vermilion City and his boss, Marco, after navigating Mt. Moon and other equally dangerous places, often avoiding roads, towns or cities with their Officer Jennys to sleep in the woods or caves. He placed the carrying case carefully on Marco's desk and stepped back to give his boss room to see what Pokemon the Pincher had brought. Nearly a dozen flashes of light appeared and disappeared, leaving in their place a wide variety of Pokemon; Butterfree, Mankey, Charmeleon, Ivysaur, Vulpix, Umbreon and others stood hesitantly infront of Marco's desk while the plump man laughed and rubbed his fat hands together.
"You've outdone yourself this time, Travis!" he cackled, eyeing each of the Pokemon in turn. "These will be fine additions to Team Rocket! See anything you like? Pick one." Known for his lightning fast changes of mood and odd bouts of generosity among his 'staff', Marco gestured at the confused Pokemon. Travis looked them over and pointed a finger at the Mankey. The cold smile returned. "That one." ...love as thou wilt

Kilik's jaw dropped. The Gyarados belonged to Mitsu!? The boy looked from the water where the serpent once rested to the girl. She's so small and innocent! Strange that she'd have something so...deadly. The boy scratched the back of his head. "Sorry about that, Mittens. I thought...well, no matter. He's not hurt." The boy glanced over his shoulder at Electabuzz. Cable had connected with the sphere and landed back on the sand in the blink of an eye. Even he was astounded at how much faster he had become. He looked at his hands then up at the Gardevoir. If she wanted to fight, he was more than willing. However, judging by the look Kilik was giving him, that wasn't what was going to happen. The behemoth roared loudly and slammed his foot into the ground. Despite the intense training session with Electabuzz, he was still itching for a fight. Aggron looked over at all of Mitsu's Pokemon, deciding that he was above them in terms of power. Maybe that Ivysaur...alas, he'd rather wait for a much larger foe. That Gyarados certainly piked his interest.
"What are you doing out of bed anyway?" Kilik crossed his arms sternly.
-*-
"Y'know!" Alastor laughed, "I actua'y like dis idea! Maz, you are a gen'us!" The green haired man stood up swiftly and kissed the other boy on the head, which made Mazarin shudder.
"Thanks, but," Jill said standing, "Kyoka isn't stupid. Whose to say that he doesn't completely expect that? After all, if there's anyone who would 'expect the unexpected', it's Kyoka!" The girl sat back in her chair and tossed a Pokeball idly up and down. "He's not going to let us try and get him that easily."
"Now...Look here, missy!" Mazarin said, running and jumping on the table. He landed spot on with his crotch practically right in her face. He had to squat down to get to her eye level. "Listen! I came up with a genuinely good idea and you don't have the right to go and shoot it down like you did!" He stood up and pointed a menacing finger at her. The next thing he knew, he was face to face with a Xatu. There was a bright flash and he was now standing in the halfway house between Fuchsia City and The Cycling Path in Kanto.
"AND FUTHERMORE!!!" he then realized he was pointing at the back of a very familiar pink head. "Sasha, my darling!" He said, swinging his arms around her in a tight come-from-behind hug, but not before managing to cop a feel on her... 'endowments'. After spinning her around to look at her, he raised an eyebrow. He felt a sudden pain course through his body, centered at his stomach. "Nice punch," he managed to get out, stumbling a bit. "Where's the cute army brat?" he looked all around her, appearing to have recovered almost immediately after noticing the other girl was gone, then stared at her face. "Alas. You know what, I have a splendid idea!" He clapped his hands, "Let's battle! And if I win...you'll have to go on a date with me!"

"Mit. . .tens?" Mitsu questioned, a bit surprised by the sudden nickname. Though a tad confused, she couldn't help but blush in the faintest shade of pink. "Didn't realize I had gotten a new nickname," she joked.
"Uh, anyways, yeah. Nightmare had a bad experience with Electabuzzes and electricity in general while he was captured by the Rockets. It's not your fault, so no worries." No need to delve into the stories of Rocket torture and her capture and whatnot. She smiled a bit, just to reassure him. Kilik wasn't the first person to be surprised over Mitsu's Pokemon. The girl was rather small and to be packing a team complete with a Gyrados, Houndoom, to-be Venasuar, and a Gengar did happen to make her look just a bit more scary. Well, she herself wasn't intimidating, but that line up just screamed, "Mess with her and you mess with all of us."
Mitsu's half smile turned into a frown. "Weeeell. You see," Mitsu began, drawing out each syllable as long as she could while the gears in her head churned and cranked together in mechanical harmony, "I was bored, and figured Nightmare could use some fresh air and water. And besides, I'm fine!" She smiled to show him that she was, besides she didn't get to spend anytime at the beach in Slateport. "And it's sunny and nice out. Perfect beach weather," she added hoping to make that stern look of his go away.
Karri looked over to both Cable and Aagron. "Is Kilik's whole team battle-crazy?" she asked Cable, a small smirk on her face. She felt smug.

Sasha's jolly little skip was cut short by a terrifyingly familiar voice, practically shouting into the back of her head. Before she had the time to react, Maz's slimy paws were already going to town on her chest. "Wh-what the hell Maz?!" Sasha cried, whipping around and slugging him in the stomach. Her face was redder than a Voltorb as she clenched her fist at the grabby boy and checked her shirt for any broken buttons. "What kind of manners did you grow up with where you can just feel up any girl you want!? Quel est le problème avec vous?!" she shrieked, covering herself up. The boy was lucky none of her Pokemon were out at the moment, they could hit a lot harder than she could.
Maz barely seemed phased by her punch, scrunching his face for a mere second before flipping that switch inside his head that made him immediately forget about anything that happened more than ten seconds ago. "A what? Battle? Date?" There was not enough time in the world to take in all what this kid had to say. "There's no possible way I'd go out on a date with you, like ever! Je préfère mourir. No dice, Maz. Go away." She glared at the boy, hoping somehow her concentrated anger would make his hair catch on fire or something. While the girl scowled, she noticed something was different about him. Same cocky grin broadcasting his monumentally unwarranted self-importance, same weird outfit, sa- Oh hey, no fruity wings. "Get sick of the wings Maz?" Sasha smiled a bit to herself. "As long as you're taking fashion tips, teal never works with black." she giggled. What a waste of space.
