Twisted Euphoria

Adrian grinned, it had actually worked! He got up, and looked her straight in the eyes, "Now, Heel!" He walked out of the room, gestruing for her to follow, he couldn't wait to see the look on that insufferable Alpha males' face! He would be livid! He looked back to see her following, and punched the air in joy.

Alex turned when he hear footsteps and then almost fell all the way down the stairs when he saw the hunter walking towards the pack with Pummel following hi like an obedient dog
" WHAT THE!! What did you do! This is a trick, its impossible!!"

Pummel stood straight and barked at the alpha wolf...
A warning bark..
No one spoke to her beloved alpha like that..
NO ONE!

Adrian grinned, his eyes gleaming in the gloomy light of the stairwell, his grubby features and torn clothes, with his bandages covered in blood on his stomach, he looked like an incredible Anti-Hero, the opposite of everything you saw in traditional heroes, but just the same. In reality he was just a slightly drunken Scottish lunatic with the social sophistication of an elephant fond of grunge metal. He looked at Pummel when she barked, and his grin widened. "Pummel is mine, my wee friend, and nothing is going to clagging change that!" He leapt forward, spinning in mid-air, slitting the throat of the Lycan standing next to Alex. He quickly withdrew a hunting knife, and threw it at the Lycan at the other side of Alex, impaling him through the stomach. Alex quickly twisted around and landed a punch on Adrian's face which sent him rocketing into the wall, he shook his head, his nose bleeding at an alarming rate. He grinned at multiple Alex's in front of him, and leapt forward again, withdrawing his rifle in mid-air, he managed to get a Silver Nitrate bullet through Alex's leg, before it healed he got right next to Alex, he quickly extended his Pike, and thrust it straight through Alex's stomach. The Alpha stayed standing for a while, then toppled backwards, with a satisfying thud. He looked at Pummel, "Let's get out of here."

How long had it been since he had been in the city? Since he had breathed the horrid air brought about by the factories' pollution? He didn't miss that part, really. It felt like...what...months? Years? How long had he been away?

He really didn't know.

Ein rubbed one of his temples as he closed his eyes and tried to remember what had happened over the past...again he returned to the point that he didn't remember how long he was gone for. If he couldn't even remember that, then how would he remember anything else? As time had gone on, he had become more and more prone to severe memory lapses, with only the most important of events sticking in his mind. He remembered all his training, the Hunters, the Lycans, the Vampires, the Tainted...all the factions he knew. He remembered himself, of course, and he remembered Zzeill. There was another that he only sort of remembered...and that was thanks to the scar ever-present on his face. Although just who did it...was a blur to him. You'd think he'd remember the person who blew half his damn face off!

He sat, cross-legged, on the edge of a rooftop overlooking a punk street, in one of the more dangerous parts of town. All sorts of things went on here. There were shops where you could purchase illegal firearms (cleverly disguised as run-of-the-mill places such as pet shops), drugs, etc. You name it, someone in New York sold it. However, his attention was drawn toward the only honest establishment in the whole dive, the Bike Shop. A place where hard road warriors took their beasties to get fixed or overhauled. Ein saw a girl with blue-ish hair, decked out in heat camouflage clothing that was littered with chains. She seemed...familiar, somehow. Altering his sight to his infrared state, he saw that her body heat was higher than that of a human's. A lycan...not surprising... The rough, blast-shaped scar on his face tingled slightly at seeing the girl. ...why do I feel like I know her? Returning to his normal vision, Ein removed his sunglasses to rub the bridge of his nose, where the nose-pieces of the glasses had been digging into since the day he had started wearing them. The dull street lamps hurt his eyes as he put the glasses back on, as if he was looking directly at the sun, despite their dimness. An unfortunate side-effect of the experiments done on him.

Modifying his vision in that godforsaken laboratory blessed him with the ability see in four different ways. The normal and infrared spectrum, a form of night vision (more powerful than using NV goggles), and "Scope" as the white-coats dubbed it. This allowed him to see perfectly clear up to a good mile away, but he couldn't focus on near things when using it. You could standing right in front of when he was using this form of sight and he still wouldn't notice you. This augmented vision helped him immensely when on the hunt for who or whatever...but it came with a drastic price. Ein had sunglasses that were specially designed for him which he had picked up back at Haven who-knows how long ago that dealt with this problem.

The problem? Right. Any light he could see was magnified easily by a thousand-fold. Looking at the sun without his sunglasses on for even a second could seriously damage his eyes, if not completely blind him. It was a terrible trade-off...and one he hadn't willingly made.

The blond lycan licked her snout to get some of the blood off, while the battle between Adrian and the lycan alpha had been going on a few of the other lycans had tried to help their leader. It was impossible to tell how many it had been exactly because the blood and torn flesh lying at the larger lycans feet were spread everywhere. She wagged her tail weakly and walked over to him, smelling his blood in the heavy stench of death that filled the dark halls. Without further notice she picked the hunter up as if he weighed nothing and licked his bleeding nose while her tail did a happy dance behind her back, she then turned suddenly and jumped from the 3 floor before landing on the stairs last steps 3 floors below with a loud thud. She whined a little due to the pain from her left leg and put Adrian down before licking his cheek

Adrian laughed as Pummel licked his cheek, wiping the blood from his nose. He tried to speak but pain simply sky-rocketed through his being, leaving his head blurry, and in need of rest. But he couldn't leave Pummel here, her left leg seemed to be injured. Ignoring the pain, he stretched his arms, and picked up Pummel, he possessed a fair amount of strength, so he could probably manage to carry her to her apartment in the City, but getting to the Lycan district was probably an impossible task at the moment.

Finn came out of the bike shop, with her helmet under her arm to reveal the striking blue-dyed hair that she had cut short. With a luxurious stretch she moved over to one of the crappy chairs the shop had for those who needed the quick and dirty checkup done, and where waiting for their bike. Lazily she threw her helmet down next to her and started clicking her spark-rings together absentmindedly. The rings where so old now that they hardly made a spark, but that didn't matter since she rarely used fireworks anymore, having traded that habit in for the slightly more dangerous gun.

She looked around the place in a board fashion, hardly believing that in this rut of a town she had once had some adventures of a lifetime. She snorted at a particular memory about some stupid hunter who had scared the holy jezus out of her and warranted an M80 firework to the face. And she froze in place as she realized why that particular memory came to mind.

That same hunter was looking at her from a few rooftops away.

Finn quickly averted her eyes, in hopes that he wouldn't recognize her, or that she would hear him pull back his bow before he actually took a snipe at her. She kept her ears open and sat rigid, ready to pounce should he attempt anything.

The blond lycan shivered slightly..
He was holding her..

Her form started changing, fur disappeared and left soft white human skin, the blond colour changed to red hair that hang in bangs in front of her amber eyes. Everything seemed to be spinning for a second..
She tensed when she could feel she was being held, for a moment she panicked, had Alex decided to punish her again?
...
No, the scent was not a lycans, it was..
" Adrian?"
Her voice was barely a whisper

Adrian looked down, his eyes scanning her warmly, "Aye, it's ok now lass, I'm here tae protect you" He smiled, gazing down at her. "I'm taking ye to yer apartment, we're gonna get you fixed up, and we're gonna make sure that baby doesn't eat your dogs." He laughed, continueing on down the sidewalk, getting into a Taxi that was probably waiting for someone else. He told the Cabby the address, and they started off back to Pummel's apartment.

Being just a few buildings away from the Bike Shop made it hard enough for him to see the girl in detail. Colors and shiny objects (ex: chains) were easy to tell from a distance. Beneath his sunglasses his eyes changed to a silver color, and the girl was shown in great detail. Everything about her was familiar...but he couldn't put a name to the face. What he did notice was how she had briefly tensed up and looked away after a glance. He could only guess that she had spotted him. No surprise. Hunters and Lycans never got along well, really—even when they had had to team up on the rare occasion. Hunters killed Lycans, and vice versa, so it's safe to say the two sides are at odds with one another. His scar tingled again at seeing the girl, and it was starting to annoy him.

Ein's hand twitched, a reflex that he had subconsciously developed over the years. When he saw a potential target, his first reaction was to always go for the compound bow that was folded up on his back, just above the UV Arc and attached to his quiver of arrows. It felt wrong to attack someone he knew, though, and it was solely this that was staying his hand and keeping the arrow from flying. I know this girl...but why...? Ein had the urge to leap across the buildings between himself and the girl, if only to answer that question...

...yet he also had the strangest urge to drive an arrow through her skull. Odd.

Finn was forcing herself to stay still, and look as innocent as possible. Although she had the greatest urge to start pacing, she had to remain still, like she wasn't trying to run away from one of the hundreds of hunters in this city who would love to have her skull on a mantle over the fireplace. She bit her lip and finally gave into the impulse and started to walk around aimlessly by the bike shop, the owner was looking at her funny.

"I am in a hurry, can you put a rush on my bike?"

In return the owner shook his head as if to say that he was hauling as fast as he could already! Finn took a nervous glance back at the hunter who was still watching her as she went to go pick up her helmet and prepare to go as soon as they had finished with her Harley.

One never gets an answer until they ask a question... Ein thought to himself, his hand twitching again. Getting to his feet, he turned and effortlessly bounded across the few rooftops between himself and the bike shop. Landing on the roof of the shop, he turned and swung over the edge, caught the top of the door frame and landed easily. It was the quickest way there and required the least amount of effort. Even using his normal sight, he could see how tense the girl was now. "You..." He began. "...I know you from somewhere..." All the thinking he had been forcing himself to do, trying to dig up a recollection of the past however long he had been gone was starting to give him a headache, and his sunglasses seemed to be bothering him more than usual. Every time he brought his attention to the girl, his scar tingled. Now it was really getting on his nerves. Whenever the scar tingled like that, his ear would twitch...not sure why. "...but where? A friend of a friend...yet my better judgment wants me to put an arrow through your head..."

That urge seemed to really push and shove its way to the top of his "Things To Do At This Moment" list now that he was within ten feet of the girl. That must mean something.

The glance showed Finn that the hunter had left from his perch, and this instantly put her on high alert. She started pacing again, taking deep breaths in hopes of catching his sent when he got close enough and her head was twitching like crazy at every little sound. When she heard the thump of his boots nearly right above her she jumped back and instinctually into a fighting stance.

She was ready to rush him, but where he should have said something witty and vaguely reminiscent of the bad guy's typical ' so we meet again' he asked how he knew her. She couldn't help but wonder if that last firework to the skull ages ago had done some brain damage. Finn relaxed into a nervous laugh as she racked her brains for any explanation other than ' I once blew up your face '

"Friend of a friend... you know Zzeil? She was my roomie."
"Yeah, sure lets go with that.."

it was a convincing enough lie. Finn had once caught this hunter shooting the breeze with Zzeil, so maby that would be enough. Hopefully he had fond memories of Zzeil, unlike the ones he should have had for her. She just had to keep this up untill her bike was done and then she could haul out of here like a bat out of hell.

(( Italics=thought. For future reference.))
PostPosted: Sat Apr 19, 2008 8:31 pm

Ein closed his eyes in thought, not that anyone would notice, what with the sunglasses and all. "Yes...I know Zzeill very well...though I haven't seen her for..." Again came the issue of time! Why couldn't he remember the span of days, weeks, months, or years he had been gone, much less what happened? "...again, the time escapes me..." The scar tingled more severely this time as he opened his eyes and looked at the girl. He was onto something. "It stings whenever I look at you, this scar...you have something to do with it..." The rough patch of skin, darker than the surrounding skin, stood out. He took off his sunglasses again, but was able to keep his eyes open. The bulbs in the hanging lamps of the bike shop were incredibly dim, it was surprising there was any light in the place at all. His steel blue eyes, robbed of any sign of emotion long ago, caught her nervous ones.

Again, his hand twitched.

Finn was shifting her weight from foot to foot, in a way that must have made her look either really skiddish or like she really had to pee. She glanced at her bike that was up on a jack now as the guys changed the oil. It was only the fact that it needed the maintenance so badly that kept her from hopping on it and tear-assing out of there right that second. She looked back to the hunter and forced herself to still her body wile she spoke to him. He commented about the scar on his head and she smirked a little, and quickly hid it as she thought up an excuse.

"I was there the day it happened...."

She paused and looked down, rather than saying 'um' as she thought for a good story she did her best to make it look like a sad memory. Rather than one of the funnier things of her pup-hood. Well, since he had so many gaps perhaps he could fill in the rest if she just gave him pieces. After all the best lies where part truth.

"I was so scared, there was nothing I could do! I'm so sorry!"
"Ok, maby not so sorry, but it should paint a good story."

the unmistakable sound of a lift that was her bike lowering made Finn inhale with gratitude.

Just a few more minutes....
