Same here ! =D My tuition for a year is 7000$, I have 10000$ Scholarship + 2000$ (giving me a 5000$ a year for Rent/Food/Bill/Live) from the government because I'm "poor" (aka I don't have a steady job), but if I work in the summer, I loose the 2000$ because I "should have saved my money" but with a 30h/week job at minimum wage + Rent + Food + Bill, I'd barely be able to save 400$ by the end of the summer and I dont get student loan because I have a 10000$ schollarship. SO. In other words, if I was to be able to live during the school year, I have to be broke all summer and stay inside doing nothing but play with you guys =D

That's so complicated, but being broke during the summer isn't too bad. D< Especially if you get more money for being broke.
I get student loans, but they barely make a dent in my tuition payment.
I had a 250,000 yen (~$2700?) scholarship my first semester, but then I failed a class because of my own stupidity and poor organizational skills and I lost it. My GPA still isn't high enough for me to apply again, but I don't really want to, because the Academic Advising people HATE the students who apply for scholarships, and I don't need them to hate me more than they already do. (It's because I exist and I've never been to college before so I require that they actually do their jobs.)
I can't imagine living off of only $5000 a year. o____o That only covers about three and a half months of my normal expenses. I would use that up on rent alone in six months.
Japan is so ridiculously expensive. D<

I don't even know right now how much I need to pay. That's so bad. owo
I know it's a substantial difference due to my transfer to a different school, but I know with car payment, rent, stupid textbooks, gas in order to attend class, parking decal, and everything else I still need to find a job and work a ton of hours. This is going to be an interesting semester. =w=

Explain? o-o
Also, for my expenses... My rent comes to 1500 for the school year (it's 900$/month, split in three), about 500 for all my bills. 8 months of food at about 200$ a month, so it leaves me 1000$ to do whatever I want with. Then I get random money from my family every now and then.

Academic Advising? They're the people who are there to help out the students with school-related matters and help you decide which classes to take, etc etc. But they're extremely overstaffed and no one does their job, so two people are forced to pretty much do ten people's worth of work. They're known for being surly, mean, and unhelpful. They hate students who apply for scholarships, because in their opinion, none of us deserve free money, and they're convinced that everything is forged. (One of my friends almost couldn't turn in her application because the AAC person she spoke to insisted that none of the teachers who had written her letters existed and that she must have written the letters of recommendation herself.) They also assume that everyone who attends my university is a transfer student (most of our foreign students have studied at other schools, mostly community colleges) so when there's someone like me, who started right out of high school, they get especially annoyed and unpleasant, because it means they have to explain even more things.
Pretty much, if you go in with a question, they chastise you for not knowing the answer yourself.

I like this plan, Lone! D< Would you like a job, too? I promise it'll be under the table, so you'll still get your extra money.
