Of course there isn't. Yuzou replied, reverting back into her usual speechless self once she regained enough courage to take up her pen, scribbling her words boldly onto a page of her sketchbook before revealing the page to the wraith. Despite her growing nervousness, she remained rooted in place, even as the wraith like form approached her, emitting another cloud from his mouth, one that sent the girl into a coughing fit. She shut her eyes, moving one hand to her mouth to stifle the noise as she blindly took several step back, out of the cloud as she inhaled what she hoped would be a relieving press of fresh air before she stared, wide eyed and frantically at the 'ghost' in front of her. '...the object that will ever get the closest to your soul'? You're not making any sense at all.

Stuck in a landslide... Teros 'smirked' as the cloud rolled over her, filling her lungs, her mind, and her soul. As she backed out holding up the pad he read it, laughing, a wretched cackling ripping itself from his 'throat'. An arm seemed to grow from his side as he raised one cloaked and gloved arm, reaching to the mask covering his face. "Let's see if you understand, Frauline." He said simply, pulling the mask away to reveal his ghastly face. He pulled back, drawing a breath over sharp fangs coating his mouth, marveling as a stream of strange white gaseous substance floated from her chest, into his mouth marveling at the taste of another innocent soul. no escape from reality.

 Yuzou watched warily, the ghost making rather frightening sounds now... Laughter. However, it wasn't the hearty noise born from joy. It was dry... Like desert air passing through a tomb. A dreadful sound. Soon an arm rose and Yuzou tore a page from her book, ready to react accordingly if the wraith intended to attack her. Whatever good a physical attack would do however, the girl did not know... That didn't mean she wasn't going to try to kill the 'man' if he charged her. Soon, that hand moved and she watched as it reached to the mask and as he spoke again, the mask shifted from place, revealing a skull. In stunned silence, she stared at the bone face for a moment. Was she frightened? No... That wasn't the proper word. She was surprised yes, but fear did not fill her heart, surprisingly so. She pulled out her pen and began to write again before she showed the wraith her message. Is that your real face?

Stuck in a landslide... Teros turned his head, a sickly cracking sound resonating from the bones in his neck. "Of course Frauline, why would I hide my face." He said the strange cloak parting of it's own free will, revealing a large chest cavity, ribs, a sternum, but nothing inside. One could see straight through the hollow spaces between the ribs, the spine easily viewable on the other side. The only organ to be seen in this empty chest cavity, was a single beating heart, bright red and pulsing. There were no veins connecting the heart to anything, it was just held, suspended in the chest cavity perfectly where it was supposed to be. "I don't even have to hide my heart." He said, laughing again as the cloak regrow over his chest, strands reconnecting like skin over his heart. no escape from reality.

 Before she allowed anything more to happen, Yuzou held one sheet of paper in front of her, the sheet molding into what appeared to be a rather long needle before she threw it with pinpoint precision, watching it pass through the space between the skeletal rips without resistance. So it wasn't an illusion... This was the 'man's' real body, it seemed. Before she could now test her 'needle theory' on the heart, Teros' cloak reformed, hiding the organ from view, much to the redhead's disappointment. She soon paused as she felt a chill go through her, one hand rising to her chest as if she suddenly lost her breath. She soon looked to the wraith, recounting the cloud of dust. What did you do to me?

Stuck in a landslide... Teros grinned, a final billow of white cloud seeping from the woman's chest, straight into Teros' mouth, and if she could still see it, his heart. He sighed in joy, his teeth closing into a bony dementia inducing smile as he felt himself grow stronger. "Why, I would of thought you realized it frauline, as close to your soul as anything." He said emphasizing the words close and soul. He brought the masquerade mask back to his face, placing it over, recovering his mouth and white skull like face. "But, my dear frauline, if you have any questions feel free to ask, I have close to four hundred years of knowledge, and a little bit of it is a perfect exchange for a portion of your soul." He said chuckling, a low rasping hiss. no escape from reality.

 So that was the meaning behind the cryptic message... Yuzou despised herself for not taking it seriously, yet, as she stopped to actually think about it and assess her situation, it really did seem that Teros had done her no harm. She was still alive after all... And aside from an empty feeling deep within her, she felt quite alright. She soon listened to his response, her gaze rising from her chest to meet the empty, now masked face of the wraith in front of her. She could have any question she had answered? Why couldn't she just have three wishes while they were at it? She shook her head slowly, then got to writing. What is your name and how the hell are you still 'alive'?

Stuck in a landslide... Teros openly laughed again, this time the cackle even more high pitched as he was laughing in hilarity, not in expense. Offering any bit of information in his four hundred years of existence, his prey asking his name never fails. "Why, frauline, my name is Teros Ra'am, and as for how I'm alive... let's just say you are now a fresh cog in the murder machine." He said explaining it in riddle on purpose. It wouldn't do well to have people openly thinking about his immortality. His skin muscle and organs had decayed, writhing away in an agonizing pain over two hundred years before, only his brain and heart remained. It was more convenient, less vital organs to worry about, less chance of dieing from pointless wounds. Even his heart was no longer vital... "And who might you be, my underly curious prey?" He asked quizzically. no escape from reality.

 So he lived off of the life force of others? Yuzou let out a sigh as she tilted her head to one side. How cliche. Was there no grand back story behind his existence!? Such as a curse, or a grand feeling for some lover somewhere? The quiet artist looked up however, when she finally realized that Teros had posed a question of his own. Yuzou of the Hidden Rain's Gami Clan, she wrote in response before she already proceeded to squeeze in her next question, scribbling it at the bottom of the back before she held it out for Teros to read: Have you always been a floating skeleton? If not, how did you die? While the thought occurred to her that she was possibly asking something that was none of her business, Teros had said she could ask any questions she had, did he not?

Stuck in a landslide... Teros grinned, now she was asking questions worth her soul. He nodded at her name and chuckled as she asked how he died. "Isn't it obvious frauline? I didn't. But to answer your first question, no I wasn't always as this. I have never died, or come close for that matter, my body merely withered away, around two-hundred and thirty years old the last of my flesh rotted from my bones leaving me as I am now. I saved my skin however, through a mixture of chakra fusing, and some darker more...forbidden techniques. It now remains as this cloak, though unnecessary it is used to prevent people from pointlessly attacking me. As you have seen I have no vital organs to strike, no blood to spill... I am essentially invulnerable. Though unfortunately as my body went so did my chakra system, and thus I am here, slowly rebuilding it in hopes of returning to the power I was when I became immortal." He finished bowing his head slightly. "So, have you always been a mute? If not how did YOU die." He asked chuckling sarcastic about the second question. no escape from reality.

Though she was sure that her attack had wounded Alice, Airi let out an irritated hiss as she felt the strain on her arm. However, the pain was far from enough to stop her from attacking. While her arm was kept within the little girl's grasp, that meant that Alice's arms and legs were already busy restraining what they had now. Thus, in a single movement, Airi's other arm raised before she brought her palm crashing down onto the tailed girl's forehead in one fell swoop. Of course, if she had been an enemy, the maid would've most definitely aimed for the face in an attempt to smash her nose...
===

As soon as the 'no promises' sounded, Menace was sorely tempted to retract her offer, but before she had the chance to, Melona was lugging her off to the classrooms. It seemed to occur to Menace only then, the idea that perhaps this girl of goop and gelatin didn't know a damn thing about Ninjutsu. Yes, Menace had learned she wasn't a teacher from their battle, but the fact that this Melona girl may probably know a few of the jutsus here had come to light... However, seeing as they were running off to a classroom now, that apparently wasn't the case.
"...So you're in the same boat as I am aren't you?"
Menace however, had two meanings behind this: one, was the fact that Melona also had a lack of ninjutsu, the other, concerned the Queen's Blade tournament...
===

Though it had remained in place for a while, Echidna soon pulled the blade away from Honehime's neck, her hand falling to her side as she stared at the girl, muttering a soft word of apology. "A defenseless child shouldn't be wandering alone in the forest," she said sternly then, red eyes falling upon Honehime before they eventually left her, as if she were no longer an item worth the swordswoman's attention.
In a way however, that was definitely the case.
She was not an opponent.
She was not food.
She probably did not even have food.
Thus: she was nothing useful to the disciple of Orochimaru.

 Before Teros had even finished his explanation, Yuzou had already begun writing again. What her message was however, was unknown until she was about ready to show the wraith, but his question followed, provoking the Gami to take more time to edit her message. Eventually, she let out a sigh, mildly content with her 'final answer as she revealed her book to Teros. First of all, you are a fool.She paused to turn the page. Second, I am not mute. I merely lack the desire to talk...Her hand, which had been blocking out the bottom half of the page soon moved, revealing in must smaller letters as the author looked away, seemingly embarrassed now. I have a stutter.

Stuck in a landslide... Teros turned his head once more, the sickening crack of his spinal segments popping over each other sounding once more. He was curious now. "How would I be a fool, frauline? I have all of the wisdom of four hundred years of life, the knowledge that scholars wish they could even scratch, i have a comprehension of things that even the greatest philosopher would suffer for. I reached nirvana, skirted death, found enlightenment. And now, I will regain power. I will become as powerful as I once was, powerful enough to stop death once more. The difference this time? Quite simple, I won't need to. I can find other exploits to use my power for, perfect life itself, end all suffering, end all death. Make everyone perfect. How am I a fool frauline?" He asked curiously. no escape from reality.

 Yuzou then only wrote a single word on her a fresh page. Chaos. Without death, the laws of life would not apply as it would to a mortal. Without such laws, there would be no order, and that, in the very end, resulted in chaos. And what of those that find death to be welcome? The woman thought, but had no desire to write such out. And perfection? The crimson haired maiden had to turn away so that the wraith would not see her laugh. Perfection was a freaking joke. Yes, the wraith could exploit his powers. Yes, he could rise to the top and work all his mojo magic to brink about his 'perfect ideas' but what then after that? Perfection was the highest peak. From then on out, everything else would become insignificant as one could never progress in perfection. One could only: Fall. She then wrote something again before she held it up so that her words would be facing Teros while her back did: In a world of diamonds, it is the average rock that then becomes most significant.

 Honehime finally let herself gulp nervously as the blade was pulled back. The older, somewhat scary woman seemed to dismiss her, telling her there was no place in these words for defenseless children. Someone more emotional would have gotten upset at those words, but she was generally a calm one. "That may be true, but I am not as defenseless as one might think. I was just surprised, that is all. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to purchase food and water." Some may call her manner brusque, but she wasn't acting that way to be rude. She had just judged that since the woman seemed to not want anything more to do with her, then social niceties would be largely wasted. And time was valuable, she was on a self appointed mission for her group, after all. (17328 words + 142 words = 17470 words) Lieselotte felt a little better, but she was still envious of the two who were fighting. There wasn't anything wrong with being at least a little envious, it only became problematic when it began to overtake other, more normal and traditional feelings. Feelings like decorum, pride, self-esteem or ethics. Feelings that would normally prevent bad choices in life. Sometimes envy led people onto the bad path. Where would it lead her? (17495 words + 73 words = 17568 words) As the world seemed to return to the milk-stained couple, Mei slowly opened her eyes and looked around. Even now, just mere moments after the deed was done, she was already pretty foggy on the details. Just what had happened, anyway? She looked down at her bare chest, at the milk splattered everywhere, and guessed that, at the least, she had finally gotten that milking that she had felt in need of. She slowly turned her head to look over at Shuku, to see just what sort of condition the Mayonaka was in. Had she had her little problem taken care of, too? Not that her problem, or problems were all that little, that was a big part of the problem. A big, jiggly pair of parts of the problem. (20482 words + 131 words = 20613 words) Zenia narrowed her eyes slightly, and began to do a few slow and calculated motions designed to stretch her muscles out a little before she would actually go into her attack. She probably didn't really need to stretch, she usually kept in good enough shape as it was, but doing these exercises helped to focus her mind, almost like a pre-battle tradition. It helped put her mind into that zone where thinking was much clearer, and everything seemed so much more simple than it usually appeared to be. It was almost time. (3378 words + 94 words = 3472 words) As she led the way to the classroom door, Melona turned her head back to look at Menace as the other young woman stated a guess as to Melona's own situation. Despite how she acted, Melona was no idiot, she had a good idea at just what sort of truth hid behind the Imhotep's words. But for now, she had gotten the fighting out of her system, for now at least, she was a friend. So instead of doing anything to further antagonize Menace, she simply nodded and agreed energetically. "Yup! So let's get this boat out to sea!" (2960 words + 102 words = 3062 words) Alice had been focused on keeping Airi's arm locked up tight, perhaps focused too much. So much, in fact, that she didn't even notice Airi's open hand strike until it hit her, knocking her head back to conk against the ground none too gently. She hissed in pain, and shook her head sluggishly. She still wasn't about to give up or let go, though. Instead, she twisted Airi's hand in her grip, enough that it was at the very limit of how far it could turn, and then she pushed it a little farther. Oh, it wouldn't break or anything. Possibly a sprain at the most. But it would be very painful if nothing else. She wasn't done! (3222 words + 125 words = 3347 words)
