King Kento The Halo marines aren't composed like an army? Further, as Ive seen (im not a halo player) their marines are not religious figures, nor divided into seperate chapters, or monastic, nor autonomous to their government, and so on. And even on their similarities, theres degrees. 40k marine armor is very different from halo armor, and 40k marine surgical upgrades are a bit more extreme than the halo ones. It is just the names, very little past that. Point and Case. End of discussion.

It is just the names, very little past that. Point and Case. End of discussion. The definition of a marine is just a soldier who serves on ships. It would make sense to assume that any soldier who serves on a space ship would be called a space marine. That was the only point i was making. Not that they're similar, just that they're both space marines.

Well, me and my friend had a "trial by fire" with the new Blood Angels codex. Me with Dark Angels (Deathwings and Ravenwings) vs Friends Blood Angels. Points value limit: 2000, BA: 2000ps, DA: 1991ps.
Result: DA gained 1940ps BA gained 1721ps Differences: 219ps: A Draw!
It was an bloody massager. gonk Both armies suffered severe casualities and only units left we´re my land raider and friends rhino. Have to say those death companies with a chaplain is a real nasty unit. eek

Either cut down the squads or slog them on foot using cover. *shrug*

Drop pods take up to ten people, unless there's a rule for taking more for larger squads. I'm not realy sure. I've played Black Templar for a wile, and havn't realy found drop pods to be that use full. Not for shooting anyway, and mine always have a tendency of landing where I don't want them to. Foot slogging through cover is probbly the best way to go.

Don´t know much about the BT´s, except the crusader squads and that they get to use Vow´s. sweatdrop Drop pods are a good way to get your troops closer into the enemylines without the fear of taking a heavy beating in the first few turns. ninja And it´s much saver then the deep strike, because the drop pods always moves to the minimum of half theyr scattering distance, if they get too close to enemy models or obsticles. 3nodding Foot slogging is also a save bet, but ou better pray there is enought good places to take cover in the battlefield. ^^"

since its 20 man units just run them behind a crusader. then pop them out when your a little closer let there special ability do the rest, when you lose one man you roll d6 like a massacre result.moving through terrain for cover is so slow.

Indeed, GW´s website has a good instructions of how to paint battle damages for the marines. 3nodding http://uk.games-workshop.com/spacemarines/damage/1/
