OMG! Disney and pixar were goin to release toy story 3 but this is what happened: (plus they were goin to make Finding nemo 2 and Monsters inc. 2 (i can understnd monsters inc. 2))

Less than a month since it was cremated, plonked in a casket and seemingly buried forever, "Toy Story 3" is back on.
Disney has apparently handed over the sequel to Pixar, who would still like to do the film, says Bloomberg.
According to the site, Disney’s in-house animators had already been working on the sequel - so they won’t be wasting man-hours for nothing. The sequel will indeed be made.
The film, which will once again see Tim Allen and Tom Hanks provide the voices of the lead characters, will see Woody and the gang set out to rescue Buzz after he is recalled back to Taiwan.

With Disney's acquisition of Pixar, Pixar President Ed Catmull was named President of the new Pixar and Disney animation studios and Pixar Executive Vice President John Lasseter is the new Chief Creative Office of the animation studios, as well as Principal Creative Advisor at Walt Disney Imagineering.
According to a poster at Animation Nation, Catmull and Lasseter "announced to Feature Animation employees [Tuesday] that the 'Toy Story 3' production will end effectively [Tuesday]. They said that sequels should only be made if there is a really great story that demands it, and should be the domain of those who created the original film."
An Associated Press article from Tuesday about the acquisition confirms the news:
One immediate sign of Lasseter's influence is that plans for Disney to make the long rumored sequel "Toy Story 3" on its own have been scrapped. If the film is made, it will be done by Lasseter and the other creators of the original film, the companies said.
Bradley Raymond was announced as the director of Toy Story 3, which was scheduled to open in 2008. In the film, Buzz Lightyear would have been recalled to Taiwan after a series of malfunctions. Learning of a productwide recall, all the toys in Andy's room, under Woody's leadership, were to head to Taiwan to save Buzz from doom.

Variety reports that Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios are on the verge of renewing their distribution deal.
So what's holding things up? The trade says a key point is "Circle 7," the secretive division that Disney formed to make sequels to Pixar films, for which it has rights through next year's Cars, which is also the last film under the partners' current deal.
Production on Toy Story 3 is already under way and the division is close to picking a second film to greenlight from several scripts under development -- most likely Finding Nemo 2 or Monsters, Inc. 2.
Apparently the next step -- picking a director -- is on hold until Disney and Pixar close their deal.
Disney CEO Bob Iger reportedly is keeping Pixar head Steve Jobs and creative guru John Lasseter in the loop about developments at Circle 7 -- something former Disney topper Michael Eisner rarely did.
Under the new deal, Disney will probably distribute new Pixar films and produce, in one form or another, a slate of sequels.
