The wall of books caught Luca's eye first. He stared, admiring it for a moment. He veered his eyes away and glanced around the room. They walked through the house, Luca smiling the entire time.
"It's lovely." Nothing special? Maybe a movie at Lori's place would be better, it was certainly more impressive."

Lori didn't seem to notice the admiration save for the enormous bookshelf. When the tour was finished he turned to Luca and offered him a soft smile.
"So are we ready to go?"

Oh right. They were supposed to be leaving. Luca offered Lori his hand. "Let's go," he said, smiling at Lori. "You can drive if you like. What's your favorite dish at the sushi place?"

Lori just gave Luca's hand a squeeze and released it. "Can I?"
He crouched then and stroked Rosie's head before giving it a little kiss. "Alright, missy. I'm going out. Be good." She had a doggie door and a fenced yard, food and water; she was fine when left alone, but that didn't mean Lori liked to do it.
He stood then and took Luca's hand properly and headed outside, but not before grabbing his house keys. "Well, that depends. Do you prefer your men new-age and innovative and to disregard tradition or knowledgeable and classic and maybe a bit pretentious?"

"Sure!" Lori had seemed to really enjoy it last time, and he knew where the sushi place was. Switching seats was easier than following directions. He gave Rosie one last pet before following Lori outside.
Hm. "I've never been to a sushi place," he admitted. Asian food was his go to, and he'd certainly seen it. He knew what it was. He kissed Lori's cheek, and then went about unlocking the car.

"Oh, re--?" He was interrupted by a kiss to the cheek and his smile grew. "Really? Well. This might be interesting then. How much do you like fish, and have you ever eaten it raw?" There were others uses for raw fish in cooking, especially in Asian cooking, than just sushi. "How about seaweed?"
He slid into the driver's seat and caressed the wheel, looked at all of the dials and the lit display and smiled. Man, maybe he should get a nice car.

"I love fish. Shrimp and crab too," Luca smiled at him. "I don't think I have, actually. It'll be different." He was always ready for a new experience.
"Seaweed yes. Usually the dried stuff, though. The smell of fresh seaweed is terrible." He wrinkled his nose. He climbed into the passenger seat and smiled at Lori.

Lori reasonably waited for Luca to get in and sit down before he started off.
"Well there's plenty of crab and shrimp sushi too, and only dry seaweed." He smiled and peered over to Luca. Cutie. "It'll be fun."
So off they went to the Japanese restaurant with the sushi bar. He chose to sit at the tables, though, as they were far more romantically lit and intimate, not to mention further from the hibachi grills and their tapping and shouting. He opened the menu and smiled yet again.
"You don't have to get sushi, but I want you to at least try some. I can get us a few to share?"

"We can share," Luca agreed, smiling at Lori. He was pretty interested in trying something new. He opened his menu and read through it. "What looks good to you?"

"Well, do you want to try raw shrimp or cooked?" He taped his fingers on the menu, "and we'll get a raw and a cooked. We can get noodles or something too if you want. Sushi's not the most filling."

"Raw?" Luca suggested. He'd never had raw shrimp before. "What do you suggest, though?" he asked. "Lets do that. Noodles." He looked down the menu to read about the noodle dishes.

"We'll get raw shrimp, something cooked, a nice roll, and you get to pick the last one. Purely by name and description." He smiled up at Luca. That'd be fun, right?
"And their noodles are good too."

Luca studied the menu, paused and then looked up. "How about these?" he suggested, pointing at his menu. "Dragon rolls. They sound intriguing." At least their name certainly did. They were undoubtedly some kind of fish, and not actual dragons--did dragons even exist anymore?

"Those're good," Lori said with a nod, "and a dragon roll then. Thankfully not any real dragon." He huffed and shook his head. Man she'd been hard to find a home for, hadn't she?
When the server came soon after, Lori ordered a Japanese soda purely for amusement factor and the amount of sweeteners in it, then their sushi and noodles, then handed over his menu, crossed his arms, and smiled at Luca.
"So."

There were real dragons? Luca's eyes might've popped in excitement if the server hadn't come over. He handed over his menu, took out a pen and quickly wrote out a message on his napkin.
THERE ARE REAL DRAGONS?????? He slid it over to Lori, and proceeded to act as if he hadn't nearly blurted secrets. "So?"
