Angel smiled as she blushed, making a rose bloom from her hand and expertly weaving it into Mala's hair with one hand as she kissed her cheek. "I'd rather do it for my family."
"In the loosest sense possible." Val stretched slowly and sat on the ground. "Our idea of family is quixotic at best, utterly bemusing at worst."

Mala nodded in understanding. "I can understand that." Afterwards she turned to Riley and asked, "Now what did you have to tell me earlier?"

Riley took a deep breath, preparing himself for when Mala would flip out. "...I'm going to have Angel change me soon. Into a vampire, I mean."

Mala held a look of shock for many moments, her now expressionless face signaling a sudden burst of emotion was soon to come. "...That's wonderful! Even more of a motivation for searching for immortality than before~" she exclaimed merilly, bursting over to hug her brother tightly.

Riley blinked a few times in confused surprise. "I have to say, I was somehow expecting something different...More scolding, I think."

Angel squealed and hugged both Riley and Mala, saying, "I'm so happy you're happy about this!"

"Why would I be mad? I don't want you dying on me. So long as you don't lose that adorable innocence of yours, I'm happy." Mala told Riley, surprised that he thought she'd be upset.

"Aw, we'll be one big, happy, immortal family!" Van said with a chuckle in spite of himself as he joined in on the group hug.

"My big sister likes the status quo," Angel said with a sigh. "She won't be happy about having a big family. But I don't care, because you guys are awesome."

"It's not like we always have to travel together, so hopefully she'll get over it soon. Or at least, whenever we end up separating for whatever reason." Mala said, thinking for a couple moments. After that she turned her head over to Van so she could smile at him. "Yes...one big immortal family." she muttured faintly to herself, thinking out loud.

Angel scooted closer to Riley. "She'll get over herself... and we should check on Jezzy. Actually, you should. I need to fly, so I can sneak a snuggle in."

Angel smiled warmly at him, kissed him briefly, then sprinted and took off, quickly gaining height.

Riley waved at Angel with a smile as she took off before looking back at Van and Mala. "I've got a baby to go check on; we can probably get going once Angel gets back."
"Should we tell 'im now, or wait until someone figures it out?" Van whispered to Mala with a grin.
