Well, I know about cleaning credit, I am on my second go at it (technically third).
It takes allot of phone calls, math, and patience. You can normally settle for 40% to 60% of your original debt. When the settle for something as low as 30% or 40% they want that money in a lump payment. $400 instead of $4000 when the original debt is $1000 isn't bad though if you can scrounge the money.
When I went to buy our house, I had to scrub our credit clean. I used our tax refund that year, and after that life was easier for us for a long time (until we both became unemployed). Then we lost our car that we hadn't even had for a year, and the couple of cards we did have went into default. I have gotten everything but one of the cards cleared, but that is because the same card collection account is held be 3 different companies coming after me for the same debt (which is illegal) so as soon as the bureaus straighten it out, I'll either know which company I need to settle with, or not owe any of them.

May I join you, Twi? lol
I don't wanna have to worry about taxes and credit and such until I move out/ college. My mom paid off all her student loans within three years of graduating, and has only ever owned one credit card (now cut in half and only used like twice). I don't want to bother with plastic, it just seems so much simpler with earned cash rather than interest and monthly payments for no reward other than more debt.... O.o
But still have to get a job first lol

Well, yea. Credit cards are pretty hard. That's why we don't have any. We use our debit card and I watch our bank account every day. We are stressing about getting a loan for the truck I want... Well I am stressing. I don't think my husband is... But if he is, he's damn good at hiding it. Although, I think he is excited to get it so he can drive it. EEERRR! Wrongo! It's my truck! He went and repaired his car and spent over 2k. The deal was if he spent over 2k to fix his car then he as keeping it and I was getting a new truck, that could fit all of us comfortably. It's pretty funny having us in my standard cab truck, which is manual. Our daughter is in the passenger side because I wouldn't be able to shift, so my husband has to straddle to stick shift XD

Underworld Priestess Aakosir XxcloudedsightxX Why is it that being fifteen you can apply for jobs, but it's the sixteen-year-olds get the jobs?? crying And it really is a clever way to get you to spend money, but I found a solution! Buy two packs of hot dogs (yes, tewenty), then buy the twenty-four pack of buns, and use the extra four for burgers >< It was hard for me to get a job at 15 too... It's all about "experience". So how is someone supposed to gain exp. if no one hires them? It work the same way with credit! How are we supposed to gain credit if we are never given a chance?!
My husband and I are trying to get a loan for a truck. It's only a 15k loan, but the interest is 14% and it's a 60 month loan. That's about 5k in interest! And the payments are $360 a month! Really? We're 20 and 22, but I know if we got a co-signer we would get good rate and all... It's sad how a 22 year old needs a co-signer to be able to get a loan! GR!!I completely know what you are saying. I remember when I was in my early twenties, I was renting an apartment, I had a credit card, a cell phone, a credit score right around 700 plus a full time and part time job and my bank would not give me a loan to buy a used car. I was soo annoyed. The experience thing is b.s. too. So many places want you to have experience but only one in a hundred places will let you in to get that experience. Wow. 700 is a pretty damn good credit! How did you do that? I'm impressed. But that is so stupid the bank would not give you a loan! I hate banks!

I am bit overwhelmed right now. My dad went to the hospital yesterday for pain in his chest. They kept him overnight because they couldn't determine the source of his pain. Some of the test came in this morning that indicated that he may have had a heart attack. The hospital decided to do an angiogram and they discovered 3 twisted arteries. It turns out that the 4 to 5 hours dad was in pain yesterday, he was having a heart attack! So, first thing in the morning he is going in for triple bypass...
I have been watching the kids that mom and dad are keeping so mom can be with dad, and I am frazzled anyway... Those girls are so high maintenance! One of the girls just has to have your eyes on her at all times, whether she is cheering, or singing, or just being plain goofy.... GAH! My kids are such a dream comparatively.
On top of that, I haven't been sleeping well, and now, my dreams have this horrible morbid awful bent to them. I have regained some of my ability to wake up, but I am so tired, that I actually argued with myself whether to endure the dream and let it play itself out, or wake up and try to start over again last night....
All I can do right now is fight warring urges to laugh at my absurd wussiness, or cry out my fear and frustrations. I just want Dave to be home so I can cuddle into his fuzzy chest and feel safe and protected. I wish he worked days so he could lay down when I do.
Well guys, sorry for the rant, but thanks for the opportunity... G'nite, and if I'm not around for the next few days, this is why...
